Bruntwood’s Alderley Park development holds an international reputation as home to a world class bio and life sciences facility. Dedicated to the art of discovery, the office building offers over 1 million square feet of commercial office, science space, meeting and conference facilities - all with exceptional amenities. One of the offered amenities is an open space Cafe 23 coffee break area. The high ceiling spacious atrium was illuminated using revolutionary Hacel luminaires. The custom colour light fittings were hung at different heights at various degree angles making the cluster of fittings into a decorative centrepiece.

FUSION® Commercial stair balustrade was installed on the main restaurant staircase from ground to mezzanine level providing access from the main bar and entrance to the restaurant. The staircase consists of 14 steps of rake balustrade on both sides, leading to gallery balustrade to side and front of the mezzanine level covering 8 metres.

The curved wooden building features a sweeping 200-seat roof terrace and floor to ceiling glass windows where diners can while away an hour or two admiring the infamous pelicans and black swans of St James’s Park. With 5 million visitors to the park each year, café operators, Benugo, have quite a challenge maintaining service and facilities. This project involved a brand new Starbucks drive-thru being built in West London where the customer wanted the overlooked rooftop to be green. The customer was able to give the basic dimensions to our team and describe how they wanted the roof laid out. We then calculated the exact quantity of units needed with our inhouse software and gave delivery and installation guidance to the contractor and end client. Café Rouge came to us with a plan to refurbish their stores, in this refurbishment they wanted a wooden floor able to deal with a busy restaurant retail environment, that would be very hard wearing and be easily maintained. We came back with the perfect solution, supplying our Istoria Premium Wideboard oak, this 220mm wide board is brushed to give it a raised grain and more texture. It is coated in a tough matt lacquer making it easy to clean and maintain.

GEC Anderson’s stainless steel worktops, sinktops, doors and splashbacks have been chosen for the modern Café Bar at The Hepworth Wakefield art gallery in West Yorkshire, for their contemporary and accurate appearance as well as their hygienic qualities associated with food service. The stunning building is formed of ten different sized trapezoidal blocks constructed using pigmented, self-compacting concrete and recently listed in The Times ‘Top 50 Galleries in the World’. The continuous stainless steel worktop installed behind the main serving counter of the Café Bar incorporates sinks, plinth, cupboards doors and splashbacks, all in brushed satin stainless steel.

Stocks Hall Nursing & Care Group have homes all over the UK, and they were opening a new one in Mawdesley, Lancashire. This home was designed specifically for people living with complex physical disabilities and plus size patients. Our designers worked closely with the owners to design a flexible, thorough hoist systems that would deliver for patients throughout the building, no matter how much their needs vary. We installed a total of 20 X-Y inset overhead hoist systems connecting private rooms to en-suites and assisted bathrooms. Take a closer look on our website!

The New Hollies transport cafe has been serving drivers and travellers on Watling Street (A5) since 1933. The cafe has grown significantly and hundreds of HGVs visit each week creating a demand for robust, sustainable parking. Due to the high water table, permission was granted but with the restrictions to keep the water level at the pre development level. It became clear that permeable paving would meet the requirements. ABG Truckcell was used as surfacing with Terrex as a filtration textile. Truckcell is a heavy duty plastic paver able to withstand the forces exerted by multiple wheeled vehicles.

AET Flexible Space

Completed in 2001, the total area is 37,000 sq m, with five floors comprising offices, a cafe and internal and external garden areas. Underfloor air conditioning was specified for the project for its energy efficient operation and contribution towards the Green Building design. Adopting an underfloor solution allowed the elimination of the ceiling void and the introduction of cotton sails to enhance the thermal mass from the concrete downstand beams.

Resopal Candy Wood 4147 - EM texture (HPL) Laminate has been selected, offering a natural wood feel, whilst giving a modern authentic look. Used to stunning effect in the cafe, signage above the customer service desks and fresh food areas, this concept will be rolled out in future stores.

stoneCIRCLE fabricated and installed the stone for the Hard Rock Café in the transformation of the Cumberland Hotel into the Hard Rock Hotel, London. The hotel has a Rock Royalty Lounge, GMT Bar, a cocktail bar and a Rock Shop. There is also a new 370-seat Hard Rock Cafe with a performance space. All bar tops were Blue Lennon granite. Reception desks were Silestone Calacatta Gold quartz. stoneCIRCLE supplied and installed the large porcelain floor tiles, as well as the Noir St Laurent marble vanity tops and the tiling to the walls in the public restrooms.

The Greenpeace Field at Glastonbury festival has long been popular among festival-goers thanks to their free hot showers and delicious veggie food available at their cafe. This year, however, will see a new feature to the field with the addition of a show-stopping 20m giant tree structure. Built from SMARTPLY OSB, the huge tree will come alive at night with a colour changing light show and will feature a DJ booth allowing attendees to party into the early hours.

The project features the popular MEFA Letter mailbox wall mounted on to the external walls of the properties to securely store mail. The MEFA Letter mail box has been finished in a basalt grey colour to match the design guidelines set out for the project and used across the door frames, window frames and general hardware throughout the development.

Buzon UK supplied and installed the DPH pedestal range for the composite decking and paving to many of the terraces and balconies across the 14 separate apartment buildings. The DPH pedestal system is perfect for use at roof level as they allow for 5% slope correction and can accommodate a range of services beneath floor level as well as giving excellent drainage.

Morgan Stanley Building, Great Ormond Street Hospital - London

Johnstone's Trade Paints - a brand of PPG Industries

The Morgan Stanley Building at London’s Great Ormond Street Hospital benefitted from the high performance and durability qualities of leading paint manufacturer Johnstone’s Acrylic Durable Matt paint. The building’s hallways, stairwells, staff rooms and main cafe was painted to provide the perfect solution for combating the high levels of traffic that a hospital has to contend with. The reception area, parent sitting room and play areas, were given a splash of colour in the form of bright blues and greens, while calming colours such as soft yellows and muted duck eggs were used in the quiet zones.

Located on the Marston Trading Estate, the former site of the Tool & Gauge building has been fully refurbished, creating a hub of business activity with high spec offices, gym and a cafe. The 23,000 square foot area has been transformed from a crumbling building into a modern, attractive and inspiring space, juxtapositioning the sites' industrial heritage with modern utilities and design. The regenerated building has been equipped with class-leading architectural lighting, designed and manufactured in the UK by Hacel.

The Grade II building dating back to the 19th Century commanded refined, architectural lighting and Hacel were at the forefront in providing class leading LED luminaires, offering contemporary lighting for a historic site.
