A residential building in Salford required seating that was durable, within budget and suited the project's overall quality. Artform Urban were asked to supply affordable and robust seating to be installed throughout the new building. After many conversations with the contractor and the architect, The FGP Bench was chosen. Being the perfect size for installing on site and maintained the project quality. With a solutions based approach from Artform Urban, the landscape element of this project was able to remain within the planned budget, without compromising on quality.

The Flemingate redevelopment scheme was to transform a chemical works that had been derelict since 2005. The redevelopment of the site consisted of; a 500 space car park, a multi-screen cinema, an 80-room hotel, a college campus, office spaces and 130 new houses. The redevelopment was designed to suit the style of the existing town centre, transforming the brownfield site into a mixed use retail and leisure destination that seems to be a part of the original town. The transformation has had a positive impact on the local economy and increased the desirability of the destination.

Project: Goole Town Center, YorkshireGOplastic Ltd were delighted to be contacted by the architectural assistant at East Riding Council with a view to getting involved with town centre improvement.Goole Town Centre has now been furnished with the very latest modern and contemporary designs available from Goplastic, with a contrasting colour theme to great effect. Historically, recycled products tended to be basic in style and brown or black but GOplastic has successfully accomplished its’ vision to bring unique designs with more colour into the materials, which are now in demand in schools, academies, leisure centres and public spaces. The Matrix 08 Picnic table (pictured), is 2m long and seats 6 – 8 comfortably. The Matrix 05 bench (also pictured), can be teamed with the London table as shown, or serve as a single bench seat with back. Planters from the Agora range complemented the seating range.

Gaming giants Tombola recently completed the construction of their flagship £7m headquarters at Wylam Wharf in Sunderland. It is situated within a conservation area on the banks of the River Wear. In line with the overall design brief, the high-quality natural materials used were to reflect the location of the site within the conservation area. Artform were specified to supply extremely durable tropical hardwood timbers, given the coastal location for the benches and picnic sets provided. The scheme has created an improved environment for staff whilst establishing a network of paths linking to the wider area.

Artform suggested a mixture of sleek reconstituted granite and simple natural granite benches. Anastasio-Makatite benches were chosen to face out to sea and to partially form planting beds with a variety of local flowers. This helped to improve the appearance of the promenade as well as providing a wonderful vantage point for people to sit and take in the sea views. Local points of reference and historical facts were also included on floor plaques directly in front of the benches so that they could be viewed and enjoyed whilst sitting on the seats.

Brunswick Park is the largest green space on the University of Manchester campus. It includes seating areas, trees, wildflowers and walkways. The parkland was created to benefit staff, students, visitors and the local community. Artform were asked to supply and install a large number of benches and seats, forming the key seating element at the heart campus. The Cobra Bench was chosen due to its modular form and contemporary take on the traditional timber bench design. In addition to providing space for meeting, relaxation and social gathering, the scheme created a central space for large-scale campus events, including graduation.

The new Centre for Immersive Storytelling at the Royal Holloway University of London has been designed to provide education in virtual and augmented reality technologies. This modern building stands adjacent to the University’s signature gothic Founder’s Building, providing a conflicting mixture of architectural design styles. The external social areas were brought to life with 14 Plateau Picnic Tables, creating a vibrant space suitable for studying and socialising, with the connected benches seating up to 12 people. The High-Pressure Laminate (HPL) picnic tables are both attractive and durable for outdoor use, ideal for busy and energetic students.

Baltic Triangle in Liverpool is part of a £100m development scheme, combining 308 individual apartments, gym, communal meeting areas, commercial floor space, receptions as well as parking and an external picnic area. The buildings are a stone's throw away from the famous World Heritage Site, Royal Albert Dock. The brief for the external picnic area was to design seating and tables to reflect Liverpool’s industrial heritage. Artform recommended the Spencer Litter Bin and the Pic-Nic Table & Bench for their contemporary finish in corten steel. The table and bench ends incorporated bespoke laser cutting elements into the design.

Artform were approached to assist on external building works as part of Loughborough University’s campus master plan. The scheme consisted of an open plaza plus a more formal, secluded seating garden. The landscape architect, BCA Landscape, were looking for simple seating made from quality materials. In addition to providing an aesthetic appeal that complimented the campus, it was also important that the products chosen were tough and durable. Giada Benches and Salgueiro Granite Blocks were chosen for their simplicity, exceptional value and effortless functionality. The Giada’s overall weight also influenced the product choice by being unmovable once installed.

Hudson Quarter is a modern development consisting of four buildings that surround a central courtyard. The £35 million investment has provided 127 apartments over three buildings and a Grade A office space.The site sits on the former grounds of the city’s first railway station and within the ancient city walls. To remain sympathetic to these historic factors and York’s distinctive character the buildings have been deliberately built close together, to mimic tight spaces in the city. The external walls are angled to reflect the organic nature of York’s core. As a connection with its railway past the apartment blocks are all named after stations – Waverley, Victoria, and Kings. Hudson Quarter’s buildings have been carefully designed to step down from Toft Green towards the City Walls to create a new public pedestrian connection between the nearby train station and the Micklegate area. It is here that Artforms Cestis Litter Bins have been supplied to provide a robust waste management solution.The Cestis litter bin features a stylish and simple design with a cast aluminium pole, a galvanised steel container and cast aluminium cover. Further to this, a number of Cafe Cycle Stands with matching powder coated finish to the bins have been installed running parallel to the exterior of the building and ancient walls. Cafe cycle stands offer a unique approach to cycle parking that elevates a space whilst maintaining a secure structure for cycle locking.Using a careful and considerate approach in a highly sensitive location Hudson Quarter has successfully provided a vibrant new place to live and work in the City of York.

The University of Liverpool developed a circular paved area outside of the listed Victoria Gallery and Museum, to commemorate HM Queen Elizabeth II’s Jubilee celebrations in 2012. The area was designed to host ceremonial presentations and to be used as a break out space. Artform were required to supply circular seating that would line up with the paving and suit the overall area. The Diamante Seating Range was chosen for having a flexible design that worked with the client's initial ideas. The project made a significant improvement to the previously unused space, linking the university to the city.

Aston University invested in developing the campus. This project was to add more seating areas to the external spaces on the campus to encourage use by the students. Artform were approached to supply a bespoke stainless steel seating design. The bespoke elliptical benches were designed to have a wing profile rather than a flat surface for improved comfort. Some Standard seating was also requested and the Libre Seating was chosen as it showed consistency with the rest of the project. The main courtyards within the university campus are now frequently used.

Artform Urban supplied a range of solar powered lighting elements to The Royal Horticultural Society’s garden, Wisley in Surrey. The requirement for the job was for external lighting in prominent parts of the gardens to assist with wayfinding when dark.The Point Sun and Sunstone are 100% cable free, self-charging ambient light sources.The end result is that visitors and staff can now walk around safely in the dark thanks to eco-friendly lighting.

The Redrock Development, previously known as the Bridgefield site, is a new leisure destination in the heart of Stockport town centre. The Client required a range of products for this project, including the MultipliCITY seats & benches, which were supplied and manufactured under licence in the UK by Artform Urban, the Big Harris Benches which were customised with LED illumination, and two bespoke sedum roof cycle shelters. Artform provided their expert knowledge for the design and installation of these individual products.

Artform were approached by Gillespies to explore some ideas for using bespoke granite blocks on this new development at Wapping Wharf. Communication & coordination were key to making sure that the bespoke granite blocks were the precise measurements required for the lighting columns to be fitted correctly. The advice and experience provided by Artform helped to solve problems that other suppliers were unwilling to address or tackle. The particular aspect of this project that was most innovative was utilising the granite block for the functional purpose of a foundation for the lighting column, but in a decorative manner.

The Tiber Square project involved the renovation of a community space in Liverpool. It was inspired by a group of 14-18 year olds who are members of the Tiber Young People’s Steering Group (TYPSG). The group of young people were given the opportunity to improve their local area thanks to a 100K grant from a national scheme, which supplied funding for just 24 town centres or high streets across the UK. Artform Urban were asked to supply robust but inspiring picnic sets for the new community development. The products chosen were the Twin picnic sets from our Metalco range.

Wythenshawe Hospital has implemented a £17 million development to double its available resources for patients, staff and visitors. Included was the expansion of the children's Emergency Department, with a new purpose built paediatric area, specifically designed to improve the treatment for patients up to 16 years of age. Artform Urban were asked to provide colourful, free-standing seating for a courtyard space, adjacent to the paediatric area. The Loop Arc Bench was offered as a lightweight seating solution that could be weighted down while remaining moveable if necessary.

Stockport Exchange has been undergoing extensive refurbishment since 2014 with improvements to the train station, a new multi storey car park, new retail and leisure facilities as well as office buildings. Given its location on the doorstep of one of the busiest train routes in the country, connections to London in under 2 hours, and less than 10 minute journey into Manchester - The potential and popularity of the scheme has seen well known brands such as Stage Coach, Music Magpie and many others fully occupying the office spaces. The external area surrounding the buildings is completely pedestrianised with a combination of paved walkways, grass plots, and raised concrete edging for plants and trees. An open green space that is the first thing visitors see of Stockport after leaving the train station.Artform Urban were asked to provide their popular Stone Benches in HPC Granite with a smooth Velluto finish. The unique design and polished finish invites users to interact whether to rest or to climb and play. The solid stone bench becomes an immovable barrier offering security and protection once it has to be maneuvered into place with cranes. A modern and monolithic design that creates a striking visual contrast to the contemporary glass and steel architecture. The stone bench range has recently been expanded with three sizes now being offered in new finishes.The client, George Cox & Sons, have a mission to present a high quality finish on all their projects that provide essential transport links. Stockport Exchange is another excellent scheme added to their portfolio. The regeneration scheme has and continues to be a success for Stockport Council and is a benchmark for future renovations to the town centre.

Explore the project.The elegance of contemporary architecture with its clean lines and spaces that communicate with each other is the central theme of a home in Sant Quirze Des Vallès on the outskirts of Barcelona. Warm colors that evoke the cozy ambiance typical of Catalonia give the residence a modern flavor, where every piece of furniture faithfully does its part to reinforce the overall style.In this context, concrete-effect porcelain tiles from Atlas Concorde were selected to clad the building's interiors and exteriors. The warmth of a lived-in space and the authenticity of places reborn to a new life are the values evoked by concrete-effect porcelain floors. Applied in an ivory color, Atlas Concorde porcelain tiles give the rooms a relaxing yet dynamic vibe.In the kitchen, concrete-look tiles were the ideal choice to visually enlarge the space, increasing its depth and making it more welcoming. The ivory shade of the porcelain tile also matched perfectly with the minimalist style of the bedroom, bringing out the space’s contemporary character.The sophistication of this contemporary style is also evident in the outdoor spaces of the residence, where the patio and pool area recall a luxury resort. The new city centre campus at Cardiff & Vale College sees a distinctive wedge shape building designed with a high focus on sustainability. Furnitubes designers worked closely with the project contractors and Architects involved who were keen to encourage open welcoming spaces for students and members of the public. Part of the solution included a bespoke Elements Podium platform, manufactured in iroko timber slats with steel supports. The platform created an informal seating provision to encourage interaction and socialisation amongst students. Also supplied to the development were a number of contemporary seats and benches to suit the character of the scheme.

When the Vivienne Westwood group wanted to project their brand image on to their outlet entrances, they contacted ASH directly to design a door handle.Using the well-known iconic orb logo as a starting point we created a unique polished brass profile with engraved features which reflects their brand and also feels comfortable to touch and operate.We are proud to have provided such a bespoke handle to the location in Nottingham, the same city where the handle was manufactured, and even prouder to see the handle still on the doors 15 years later, providing a testament to the quality and durability of our products and craftsmenship.

Artform were approached by Design Coalition to provide ideas on an impressive outdoor seating solution, as part of redevelopment plans to enhance and update the exterior of the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Glasgow. Artform recommended using their large “feature piece” Moonstone sculptural seat for the space identified. The end result for this scheme was a striking waiting area at the entrance of the hotel that echoed the message of luxury and quality assurance that the Crowne Plaza brand is associated with.

Specialist lifting equipment was needed for the installation due to the 4.4tonne weight of the Moonstones. The Artform team, having installed Moonstone Benches previously relied on their knowledge to make the install as smooth as possible offering full assistance to the site team. The new Ice Arena has improved a part of Slough by revitalising the space it inhabits to encourage the wider community to come together and be social.

A recently completed residential complex in the centre of London is where you will find this magnificent building which has been finished to the highest standard. The reception area is welcomed by a circular entrance with a pool of water at the centre. The stone that's been used is a pale cream and the metal work is a light bronze. We provided the pull door handles which complement the colours and materials used. The have been finished in a dark bronze adding a dramatic entrance across the front of the building and on the main entrance. You can find a range of finishes which we offer across a range of products. The front of the building benefits from planted up areas which breaks up the hard lines, this along with the curved stone seated areas creates a pleasant place to sit and sip a coffee. There have also made great use of lighting in the main lobby area and the reception is grand and welcoming. The style of our handles used are Ash 103.

Nine Elms Point is a new apartment complex in London. A part of the project was to offer a green space of landscaped gardens for residents, to enhance the community feel. This included many walkways which required seating. Artform were consulted regarding the supply of standard products to the residential area, which needed a bespoke feel. The award winning Multiplicity seating, with its cast aluminium support structure was suggested, as this could allow for a selection of alternate timber to be used, giving the client flexibility and confidence that it would blend with the landscape.
