The brief was to combine coastal charm with elegance; a unique style that beach-side Sydney homes manage to showcase so perfectly.Shades of blue, grey and white form the basic colour palette throughout the bathrooms, and offer the perfect backdrop for polished chrome tapware and accessories. Decadent textures such as hand crafted ceramic tiles and marble herringbone floor tiles are paired with softer materials such as fabric blinds and a shiplap-style wooden ceiling. A brand new residential property in Shropshire had a variety of Schlüter products installed throughout the home and its seven bathrooms. Across the three-storey home sits five bedrooms, each benefitting from it's own ensuite bathroom, which have been stylishly installed with longevity in mind using Schlüter products.

A highly sustainable Education & Visitor Centre is nearing completion alongside a historic landmark in a south London park, with the fit out including the installation of stainless steel sinks, work-surfaces and shelving units, supplied and installed by sector specialist, GEC Anderson. 

In theory, placing your hand dryer or towel dispenser in just the right location should be easy. In the simplest terms, it involves measuring the hand dryer height from the floor and planning the right hand dryer distance from the sink and other washroom features.

New GEC Anderson stainless steel worktops lift the shared kitchen environment within the college accommodation. The practical, durable yet aesthetically pleasing worktops feature integral upstands and wet zones around sinks for ultimate functionality combined with an uncluttered appearance.

Care Spaces played a crucial role in enhancing the living conditions of a private client, referred to as Mr B, who had experienced a spinal injury leading to a loss of physical independence. Collaborating with an architect to design a bespoke extension, we focused on the bedroom and bathroom to cater to his specific needs. The centrepiece of the design was an XY ceiling track hoist with a magnetic transition gate system, facilitating safe transfers between the bedroom and bathroom. Care Spaces also recommended bathroom equipment tailored to Mr B's needs, including a washer/dryer toilet, a static-height hand basin, and an Avero care bath with an air spa system for therapeutic benefits. With Mr B's approval, we oversaw the installation of the hoist system and bathroom equipment, provided necessary training, and ensure routine servicing for optimal functionality. Mr B is now delighted with his improved living space, and Care Spaces remains committed to maintaining the excellence of his care equipment.

HLM, the architectural practice had a very high-end, designer lead project at Park Lane London, which required bespoke components mixed together with standard products forming a warrantied bathroom solution for the client. 15 types of different bespoke XPS shower trays were created for this project and used across the 460 rooms spread over 3 phases.240 bespoke XPS niches were installed and in 210 cases substructure sets were used to reach the required 100mm installation height thus allow for a straightforward replacement of old baths with showers without having to modify the existing pipework.In all bathrooms, wedi XPS building boards were used in 12.5mm thickness for walls and 10mm thickness for floors.RESULT: Thanks to the sub-contractor Milk Leisure, an Approved Partner of a leading manufacturer of XPS shower/bathroom systems, the client received a 100% waterproof bathroom with a 15 year manufacturer’s warranty on the whole installation. 

A full refurbishment and renewal of the Endoscopy Unit included specialist stainless steel equipment from GEC Andertson Limited. Height adjustable sink units were required due to the ergonomic demands associated with the rigourous and meticulous cleaning of scopes. A fully stainless steel specification was demanded for reasons of hygiene but also of durability.Endoscopy is an activity under ever-increasing demand for may and varied ailments that are treated in hospitals, due to it’s relative speed and to its less invasive nature, compared with conventional operations.GEC Anderson were able to provide the necessary sink sizes to accommodate the [sometimes large] scopes. The cost of the scopes make it essential to do everything that is reasonably possible to prolong their life through correct cleaning and maintenance procedures.GEC Anderson have been involved in many other such facilities as well as other specialist hospital units.

GEC Anderson stainless steel worktops were put to good effect in this smart domestic kitchen.A curved breakfast bar forms the centre piece of the design but there are worktops to two of the perimeter walls. Extra deep edge profiles were specified and, of course, sinks are fully integrated within the worksurface.

Multiple teapoint sinktops and cafe servery counters as well as cabinets and panelling were supplied to the UK Headquarters of Sony Computer Entertainment.Integral upstands were specified to all wall junctions for easy of cleaning and to ensure good levels of hygiene and durability. A series of special inset, textured finish, stainless steel sinktops were included in a recent upgrade to classrooms and art rooms within Exeter’s Bidwell Brook School.Chosen for their practicality and durability but also for their neat and clean appearance, the inset sinks feature lipped edges all round to prevent spillage.

World renowned architects, Foster + Partners, have a new galley kitchen in their Hester Road studio which features bespoke sinks, surfaces and splashbacks supplied by GEC Anderson.The GEC Anderson fabrications were produced through a series of meetings with the team so as to maximise the very compact space available for the kitchen. The items were delivered direct to site in Battersea for installation by specialist fitters CHC.GEC Anderson create custom engineered solutions to fit any space or specification. In the case of the Foster + Partners studio, stainless steel worktops include integrated sinks as well as cut outs for taps and drip tray. 20mm plain front edges were specified together with the [water tight] integral back upstand. Stainless steel splashbacks were also included.GEC Anderson’s stainless steel kitchen creations offer aesthetics, practicality and the ability to provide an easy to clean, hygienic, highly durable and long lasting environment.

A distinctly different appearance was created by kitchen designers Turner and Foye. A total of three stainless steel worktops were included - all with the rivet edge detail requested by their client.Series A sink A34 was integrated within one of the islands. All worktops are in EN 1.4301 grade brushed satin stainless steel.

The conclusion of a far-reaching and detailed refurbishment contract within the country’s oldest purpose-built cultural entertainment venue has included the installation of custom designed stainless steel units and worktop, supplied and installed by G.E.C Anderson for the food preparation area.  The project at the historic Blackheath Halls in Lee Road, South-East London, has been carried out by the equally long established Sykes and Son on behalf of the operating company, a wholly owned subsidiary of the Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance. The scope of the work included the redevelopment of the Great Hall, bar and box office/foyer areas. With such construction work as electrical rewiring, plumbing and plastering completed, G.E.C Anderson’s project management team carried out a precise survey of the food preparation area, located to one at the North end of the main bar, in order for the design and fabrication process to commence. While many clients choose to make use of G.E.C Anderson’s standard ranges of sinks and other sanitaryware, the conservation considerations to the work within Blackheath Halls required a bespoke solution. The sector specialist manufacturer’s workshops duly produced a set of three base cabinets in stainless steel, and a single-piece L-shaped stainless steel work-surface with integral sink and splashbacks. Such custom made installations offer a pristine appearance that is ideal for such public facing applications, while helping establishments maintain an efficient cleaning regime essential in achieving the high standards of hygiene essential in commercial premises.   Hannah Benton, Operations Manager for Blackheath Halls whose responsibilities include the servery area, commented: “The refurbishment of the different areas of the venue – including the general building work, updating of plumbing and electrical services and installation of the new servery facilities, was completed to schedule for the reopening in November. Stainless steel ward kitchens by GEC Anderson Limited were specified within new ward facilities at Southend Hospital. The units were chosen and specified by Architects, The Livemore Partnership.Stainless steel worktops with integrated sink bowls and mounted on stainless steel base cabinets were included alongside stainless steel wall cabinets and shelving. 

A new purpose-made stainless steel worktop by GEC Anderson was included within the clinical area of this busy London medical centre. Responsibility for medical centres to carry out minor clinical procedures is increasing. To deal with the need for a safe and professional clinical area, refurbishment works included the provision of a new sink and worktop.Carefully specified by Edwards Rogers Associates, the 1800x625mm worktop includes 450mm high, integral, upstands at back and sides for total hygiene and cleanliness. Two sinks were seamlessly integrated within the continuous worktop. One circular and one rectangular in shape, denoting their differing purposes. The circular bowl is for hand washing and the rectangular bowl for the washing of instruments and equipment. The front edge profile is curved, complying with the precise detailing prescribed by HTM 63 (Healthcare Technical Memorandum).The unit was produced in EN 1.4301 grade brushed satin stainless steel. Stainless steel is well know for its robustness and the brushed finish provides not only a highly resilient and practical surface but also an attractive aesthetic.

International bathroom experts Villeroy & Boch have been commissioned by Hotel La Tour, Birmingham to remodel all of their en-suites and public wash-rooms. Working with pHp Architects and interior design Adrian Coleman, Villeroy & Boch have updated the 4* hotel with sleek wall-hung sanitaryware and contemporary surface mounted basins; choosing pieces from their Loop & Friends, Momento, Squaro and Subway collections. In total 550 pieces were installed, completing 174 bathrooms in the hotel.

Split-level stainless steel sinktops and splashbacks were specified in the educational visitor area as well as to the baby-change units and washrooms.20mm edge (7) provide a clean and simple aesthetic and the the worktops include integrated sink bowls Le50. Splashbacks were added for additional durability and functionality. All in EN 1.4301 grade brushed satin stainless steel.

GEC Anderson's Decimetric range of stainless steel worktops, sinks, base cabinets and wall cabinets were the preferred choice of architects Curl La Tourelle in the 1.8m sports hall project at St Michael's RC High at Garston, Hertfordshire.The specialist sinks, base units and wall cabinets were used in fitting out the new First Aid Room and P.E Staff Office. A full stainless steel ward kitchen was provided by GEC Anderson in the Royal London Hospital, part of the Barts NHS Trust.Working with main contractor, John Sisk & Son, GEC Anderson supplied the entire kitchen, comprising sinks and worktops, stainless steel legs and supports, base cabinets and wall cabinets. Some of the units were mobile (on castors) to facilitate cleaning.

Originally one of Britain’s greatest railway hotels, the Principal York Hotel has been sensitively renovated and redesigned by Goddard Littlefair in a manner that combines attention to historic architectural detail with modern design and comfort. The 155 guest bedrooms and suites are decorated in a muted soft cream palette with feature wood paneling. Designed by Utopia Projects, a specialist bathroom consultancy, the bathrooms feature polished marble surfaces with sanitary fittings from Villeroy & Boch’s Memento, Architectura and O.novo collections. The design emphasis here was on relaxation, so that guests feel at ease and uplifted.

Northern Ireland’s artists and designers of tomorrow are moving into a creative new environment enhanced by the stylish appearance and solid functionality of stainless steel sinks and worktops, custom-crafted by leading bespoke manufacturer GEC Anderson. The durable stainless steel products have been installed as part of a major development programme at the University of Ulster, where they will provide essential facilities for various art disciplines. GEC Anderson is a pioneer of made-to-measure stainless steel products for domestic, commercial and specialist applications.The University of Ulster’s School of Art and Design caters for 2,000 students in the Warwick and Orpheus buildings, flanking busy York Street in downtown Belfast. The school provides teaching and research facilities in fine and applied arts, design and visual communication. In the first £12 million phase of a £30 million re-development, the school is commissioning a six-storey extension to the Warwick Building. The overall plan, prepared by Belfast-based Todd Architects, enables the university to expand teaching and recreational activities on an urban site within the Cathedral Quarter conservation area. Project architect Angus Waddington says both existing buildings will be extensively modernised in the later phases.With numerous studios and workshops for “wet” art disciplines – ranging from painting and ceramics to print-making and printed textiles – the school has a significant need for durable worktops and sinks. Although the new building will eventually focus on the digital arts, it will provide temporary accommodation for departments displaced by renovation elsewhere. In the new extension, interior design consultant Colin Sneddon of DEGW specified GEC Anderson stainless steel sinks, worktops and splashbacks to ensure lasting resistance to paints, inks and dyes. “I have worked with these products previously. GEC Anderson provides a robust, quality solution which is ideal in this application,” he says.Installed by Specialist Joinery Fittings, the bespoke worktops from GEC Anderson are made from acid-resisting grade satin finish stainless steel. The worktops, up to 4m in length, feature integral sinks from GEC Anderson’s standard range as well as splashbacks and water-retaining edge details to minimise spills and splashes during daily use. The creation of an ultra-modern Teaching Building as a new core to a long established school in Oxfordshire, has included the installation of custom designed and manufactured stainless steel sinks, worktops and splashbacks and other units from GEC Anderson for several of the different technical spaces.The Tudor Hall School, originally founded in 1850 by the Rev TW and Mrs Todd at a site in Salisbury, has been at its present location at Wykham Park in Banbury since World War II, while the past decade has seen some £15 million invested in ensuring the Independent Girls Boarding and Day School offers the best possible facilities.The Birmingham office of ADP Architects has been responsible for the design work on this latest project, while Clegg Construction Ltd of Nottingham was the main contractor carrying out the work. Acting as a specialist sub-contractor, GEC Anderson conducted site visits and liaised with the project team in order to ensure its custom fabrications met the schools’ health & safety as well as technical and teaching requirements. The manufacturer also worked closely with Tudor Hall’s Bursar, Neil Farquhar to ensure its site installation visits in no way interfered with the academic activities as lessons continued throughout normal term time. One of the architects involved with the project from early on commented: “The GEC Anderson sinks, work-surfaces and other fabrications were specified for the Food Technology Area as well as units for the Ceramics and Textiles rooms. The new centre opened on schedule last Easter in time for the start of the 2018 summer term and everyone involved has been pleased with the results.”A spokesperson for Tudor Hall added: “The new Teaching Centre is the largest and most ambitious addition to Tudor Hall facilities to date and sits at the heart of the school site. Beechview Drive is a development by MD Constructions Ltd consisting of 8 brand new, luxury detached family houses set in a secure gated development. Each comprising 5 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, stunning kitchen diners and integral double garages. Licata Building Systems supplied full silicone render systems and clay brick slips systems for the facades of the houses. The combination of the two finishes created a modern style to the development. Full Licata waterproofing systems were used in the bathrooms of the properties and were also finished of with high quality premium Italian porcelain tiles supplied by Licata.

P C Henderson has recently joined forces with SDS London to donate automated sliding door hardware for an Annex being built by Sam Robinson who is living with Motor Neurone Disease. The automated sliding doors are just one of many features in the Annex designed to enhance Sam’s independence and quality of life. When the sliding doors open, the bathroom lights are triggered to come on. An automatic toilet, a remote shower system as well as a full body warm air drying system were also included in the annex,providing Sam with a fully automated bathroom experience.

P C Henderson's Rustic 80 sliding barn door hardware has recently been specified for a home renovation of a period property in Kent. The 11 month renovation included a complete rewire, full house re-plaster, a full damp-proof course, new heating and plumbing system and a new kitchen and bathroom. The couple also required some sliding door hardware for the properties bedroom and bathroom doors. Our Rustic sliding barn door hardware was identified as the best solution for the project due to its beautifully crafted barn style hangers and rustic effect.

A man with a prosthetic limb faced difficulties in his small, impractical bathroom after a leg injury. Collaborating with an Occupational Therapist, Care Spaces redesigned the space, ensuring approval from both the therapist and the user. They revamped the bathroom into a functional wet room, addressing accessibility issues. Key features included a level-access shower, shower seat, non-slip flooring, safety grab rails, an accessible toilet, and basin. The transformed space now meets the user's needs, enabling independent living. Notably, the adaptation benefits the user's son, who has a disability, ensuring a lasting solution for the family.

The ProjectLocated only 2 miles from the town centre is the town’s most established business park, offering 85,000 sq. ft of developed self-contained office.   The major refurbishment was intended to attract a diverse range of occupiers and underline Altrincham as the leading business park in the area. Space Invader architects designed the high-quality refurbishment and specified Excelsior to manufacture and deliver the washroom package.The ChallengeThis washroom project formed part of a full and extensive refurbishment package managed by TSK Group.  The Architects vision was to create a modern, industrial environment offering the occupant complete privacy and comfort.  Standard vanity frontages and sinks did not meet the brief, a bespoke wash station was required. The SolutionExcelsior Flush 30 Full Height Cubicles provided complete privacy for the user and a flush frontage complete with aluminium rebated edge detail to the doors and pilasters enhanced the industrial theme of the washrooms. Bespoke Vanities were created to carry sit on sinks on a Marble effect, Laminated Polyrey top, all supported by specially made, galvanised steel legs, powder coated in a black finish.
