The louvers were also introduced at the top and around the sides of the glazing allowing a good air flow. The panels were hot-dip galvanised and polyester powder coated to provide a smart, long-lasting finish in a location with close proximity to the sea.

The Conduit - A Unique Rooftop Dining Experience

The Conduit - A Unique Rooftop Dining Experience

Caribbean Blinds UK Ltd

The Conduit is an existing client of Caribbean Blinds having used our louvered pergolas at their previous club in Mayfair in 2018. Knowing both the benefits of installing louvered pergolas, providing flexible shade and shelter allowing the terrace to be used all year round, therefore providing an important revenue stream for the business along with a unique dining experience for their discerning members along with the service we offer, the Conduit wanted to replicate this at their new club in Covent Garden, albeit on a much larger scale. The new roof terrace, which was on the 7th floor, had a footprint of approx. 300sq/m. The client wanted to cover 2/3rds of this with pergolas, leaving the remaining 1/3rd completely open. The model was to be our Prestige Pod, which they had previously installed, where the louvered roof not only rotates but fully retracts and when closed is completely watertight. A total cluster of 8 modules were required to cover a surface area of c. 200sq/m. The perimeter edges were equipped with screens to offer protection from the elements to the sides. Additionally screens were inserted along with doorways between certain modules so areas could be zoned off for events and private functions. Each module had infra-red heating and festoon lighting installed to create a cosy and pleasant environment year round.A project of this size, requires clear communication, co-ordination and planning. We worked closely with the architect, designer, contractor and end client at every stage, to ensure a seamless process and journey. Site meetings were held with all parties. Full CAD drawings of the structures, positioning and importantly drainage, wiring and post mounting plate positions, which were highly critical as a steel sub frame had to be fabricated and installed and services run were provided. A dedicated project co-ordinator oversaw the entire project to ensure it run smoothly and on-time and in-budget.Like all roof terrace installations there were many challenges, from working at height to access with a road closure required for this project to allow craning of the goods to the terrace. Manufacture from order sign off for the bespoke pergolas was just 12 weeks, with installation taking 2 weeks, via our own trained teams and all in time for a VIP client 4th July party.Anthony Pollak, Facilities Director for The Conduit commented:“Having had a Caribbean blind pergola installation at our previous property we knew the quality of their products. When the opportunity came from our landlord to give us a substantial area to build a roof terrace we knew that we had to include Caribbean Blinds within the design.Installing the Caribbean Blinds pergolas has enabled us to use our roof terrace all year around. In the summer when the weather is good we can open up the space effortlessly and in the winter when the roof is closed, sides are down and heaters on it gives us much needed outside space. From the initial design meetings all the way through to install the Caribbean Blinds team were pleasant and professional to deal with. They made the whole experience very pleasant and straight forward.”To find out more about how we can help you create unforgettable alfresco experiences 365 days a year please contact one of our knowledgeable and friendly team on 0344 800 1947, send us an email projects@cbsolarshading.co.uk or visit our website www.cbsolarshading.co.uk.

Speedwell Baths - social housing for local people

HAG Ltd. - The Door Specialists

Speedwell Baths were originally opened in 1937, and quickly became a beloved recreational spot for hundreds of Bristol City dwellers for more than 7 decades. Unfortunately, in 2005, Bristol City Council made the decision for the Baths to close. Subsequently, the site remained abandoned for several years until their demolition in 2019.This paved the way for a new five-storey complex comprising 31 affordable homes, featuring a mixture of 1 & 2 bedroom apartments. This signifies the successful conclusion of a vital revitalization initiative for the local community, bringing much-needed affordable housing to Bristol. PARTNERSHIPThe architectural design for this development was entrusted to Angus Meek Architects, a Bristol based firm, who worked alongside Bristol City Council & property developer, Crossman Homes, to bring the project to fruition.HAG Ltd was successfully awarded the contract & crucial responsibility of delivering security and fire protection door solutions throughout the five-story building, leveraging our expertise and track record. THE PROJECTWork on site began in 2019, starting with the dramatic demolition of the historic swimming pool and the building was eventually completed & handed over to Abri Housing Association in January 2022.The front of the building is designed as an "art moderne" style but incorporating elements of art deco detailing from the original Baths, demonstrating that the development has been thoughtfully designed to enhance the area, reflecting the style & shape of the existing building in a contemporary way.HAG Ltd. were delighted to have been chosen to work on such ground-breaking local development and were keen to assist in the design & installation of high-end security & fire protection products that could aesthetically compliment the design & style of the building.Steel doorsets are versatile, can provide high levels of security, as well as fire protection tested to BS EN 1634, and offer excellent value for money. Bespoke options that were utilised on his project, were louvered doors, communal doors & insurance certified doors, which conform to LPS1175.Louvered doors allow for bi-directional airflow, a medium level of security and can be fully customisable to meet your specification. This was key in this project, to allow ventilation to various secure plant rooms across the site and offer a bespoke colour option, so doors can blend seamlessly into their surroundings. In a busy City complex of 31 apartments, secure yet robust communal entrance doors are a necessity to allow for a high level of pedestrian traffic throughout the day. Double glazing panels allow for through vision and locking systems can be adapted to include access control. Our Fireguard Fire Resisting steel doors gave Speedwell Baths fire protection & high levels of security. Fire protection can be guarantee from 60 to 240 minutes and these doors are certified to BS EN 16034. HAG Ltd. hold the CERTIFIRE certification as well as being FIRAS installation certified – one of only a few installers in the UK to hold such a highly sought after accolade. Sean Gill, management company manager at Abri, one of the largest housing providers in the south, said: “Our new development on the Speedwell Swimming Baths sites will provide further much-needed affordable housing in the city."

Sliding Louvre Doors - Supplied For a Beautiful Garden Space in Goring-On-Thames

SUNSHIELD Unique Louvres

We recently completed a noteworthy project, supplying custom-designed sliding louvre doors for a delighted customer in Goring-On-Thames. Nestled alongside the picturesque River Thames in South Oxfordshire, Goring is known for its charming village and serene surroundings. The star of this project is a stunning detached house that now boasts the distinctive touch of Sunshield's sliding louvre doors. These panels, meticulously crafted to perfection, cover an expansive area, each measuring just over 5 square meters. While two of these panels gracefully glide along rails spanning 4.8 meters, the third panel commands an impressive 10-meter rail. One of the key highlights of this installation is the meticulous attention to detail. To ensure a flawless and seamless appearance, the rails were seamlessly integrated into the floor and ceiling during the house's construction phase. This thoughtful approach not only enhances the aesthetics but also guarantees a smooth operation that aligns seamlessly with the house's architectural integrity. The sliding frames of these louvre doors are made with Western Red Cedar louvres, positioned at a precise 25-degree angle. This angle not only offers a visually appealing touch but also allows for captivating views through the panels. While the wooden louvers remain fixed, the sliding panels effortlessly glide from left to right and back again, all operated manually for ease and convenience. In terms of aesthetics, these sliding louvre doors are coated in RAL 7016 anthracite grey, lending a modern and sophisticated touch to the house's façade. However, these panels are not just about looks; they serve a trifecta of functions. First and foremost, they provide effective protection against both wind and sun, ensuring that the residents can enjoy their outdoor spaces in comfort, regardless of the weather. Secondly, they contribute significantly to the house's overall aesthetic appeal, blending seamlessly with the owner's vision and elevating the property's curb appeal. This project stands as a testament to our commitment to delivering not just louvre doors, but transformative solutions that enhance the functionality, aesthetics, and comfort of outdoor spaces. Rows & Vines - Extraordinary Vineyard Dining Experience

Caribbean Blinds UK Ltd

An al-fresco experience like no other; where you can relax and enjoy award-winning English sparkling wines alongside perfectly paired seasonal plates, with views over the growing vines and the South Downs beyond. That was the vision for Ridgeviews Rows & Vine Restaurant.  Being an outdoor only restaurant it was imperative that the space could be used in all weather conditions to ensure maximum revenue year round. Therefore as part of the design a series of canopies were incorporated on the zoned terraces along with adjacent to the bar area to provide diners with a comfortable space to enjoy the iconic views and the perfect spot to sip, savour and celebrate.  Working closely with the project architect, our Deluxe Outdoor Living Pod – 4 double modules totalling almost 200sq/m of coverage were specified. Featuring a louvered roof that rotates through 150 degrees and is waterproof when closed, the perfect atmosphere can be created on the terrace beneath throughout the seasons. Additionally integrated side screens prevent both breezes and driving rain, whilst infra-red heaters keep the chill away and LED ambient lighting to the inside of the cross beams softly illuminates the terrace on darker afternoons and evenings.  Matt Gayler, General Manager at Ridgeview commented:  “We wanted to design and create an amazing space that blended in naturally with the environment surrounding it. Though alfresco lead design, we wanted to be able to operate 12 months of the year whilst always delivering an engaging customer experience. The Deluxe Outdoor Living Pod was selected because of its adaptability and design with the structures becoming an integral part of the scheme. Caribbean Blinds were efficient from design to on-site logistics and being a UK manufacturer gave us peace of mind.” From design to installation the project took just 12 weeks, with installation completed in less than 2 weeks, all ready for the official opening and first private event – a vineyard wedding! A dedicated project manager guaranteed a seamless process and full CAD drawings were provided for sign off and to ensure the perfect positioning of required services (wiring and drainage) along with other elements such as interaction with decking.  To find out more about how we can help you create unforgettable alfresco experiences 365 days a year please contact one of our knowledgeable and friendly team on 0344 800 1947, send us an email projects@cbsolarshading.co.uk or visit our website www.cbsolarshading.co.uk.

Pennyhill Park - A New Dimension in Spa Breaks

Pennyhill Park - A New Dimension in Spa Breaks

Caribbean Blinds UK Ltd

‘A little bit extra’, was the concept when creating the beautiful new spa garden at Pennyhill Park; a premium space, set within the luxurious spa grounds where you can switch off from the world and indulge in the very best.  Four Cabanas were key to the design, each providing clients with a private ‘pad’ for the day. The Cabanas had to offer all the benefits of being outside, with the comforts of being inside, allowing guests to enjoy the roll-top spa bath and loungers beneath in a pleasant environment throughout the day.  Our Deluxe Outdoor Living Pod was incorporated by the project designer thanks to its flexibility, in particular the ability to incorporate additional uprights and a wall to the rear and part side where the padded bench, fridge and coffee machine are all incorporated. Each module measured 5m x 4m providing ample space for the facilities within.  The motorised rotating louvered roof of the system allows guests to play with light and shade to create the perfect ambience beneath the structure from sunrise to sunset, whilst the optional integrated screens to the open sides can be deployed as required to provide privacy whilst also offering protection from low sun and even breezes.  Graham Copeman, General Manager at Pennyhill Park commented: “Our cabanas give guests the opportunity to indulge in the best, feel at their best, and relax in style. The ‘Deluxe’ Outdoor Living Pod™ design provides privacy and shade from above and on all sides with remote control blinds, whilst being beautifully adaptable allowing us to build around the space to create the perfect indulgent haven. Our vision was to bring the luxury of a hotel room to the great outdoors, which Caribbean Blinds seamlessly helped us achieve.” Close collaboration with the interior designer and facilities manager throughout ensured a smooth process, with fully detailed CAD drawings provided to ensure a seamless incorporation of the structures into the overall scheme, which was particularly important for the positioning of foundations and services. From drawing and design sign-off through to installation took just 12 weeks, with installation taking just 4 days to complete.  To find out more about how we can help you create unforgettable alfresco experiences 365 days a year please contact one of our knowledgeable and friendly team on 0344 800 1947, send us an email projects@cbsolarshading.co.uk or visit our website www.cbsolarshading.co.uk.

Folienwerk Wolfen GmbH

Experience Spectacular Laminated Glass Designs with evguard® Manateq HQRas Bufontas, Doha, QatarThe Manateq Headquarter is located in Ras Bufontas, Doha, Qatar. It is positioned along the east-west axis, edging the planned urban piazza and fronting the sea. What starts off as a monolith undergoes a series of articulate folds, cuts, and pleats to fulfill its functions. It’s shape is simple but quite intriguing and perceived as a tilting volume slowly rising up from the ground, wrapping around its core, and culminating with a platform that offers gorgeous views of the urban fabric unfolding around it with the sea ahead. It is very open at entrance level, with generous overhangs around it to shade both the pedestrians and the spaces inside. The main entrance lobby spans the entire width and height offering visual connection to the upper stories and to landscaped internal courtyards. What is created, by means of these courtyards, is a strong sense of place and a clear orientation. Their distinct volumes and natural light control draw on Islamic architecture principles of space, proportions and light. Individual offices and meeting rooms are all naturally lit. Office spaces are complemented with generous communal areas and gathering spaces strategically positioned along the vertical connectors and in-between the departmental clusters. As for the exterior, the project has a two-fold skin system. A first, inner layer of double concrete walls and low-E glazing ensures optimal visual, lighting, thermal, and acoustic comfort levels throughout its interior. A second, adaptive outer system of perforated vertical louvers spaced from the inner walls by means of access catwalks, wraps around the entire project protecting it from excess light rays and glare. architecture: nabil gholam architects source: https://www.nabilgholam.com/project.152Spectra Arts/Qatar contributed to its stunning design with the spectacular laminated glass design with evguard®.Spectra Arts has been in the glass industry for decades and is known for amazing glass roof and skylight installations.
