Buzon UK were specified to install the PB pedestal system to support two large (220sqm and 180sqm) hardwood decked outdoor terrace areas. This project was particularly challenging due to the many curved planters, upstands, steps and seating areas but the PB pedestal range can be adjusted from 28 to 965mm to create different height levels and the ergonomic design makes it easy for accurate and effective installation. The finished private roof terraces provide residents with the perfect outdoor space.

Incorporating a dazzling, eye-catching branded theme wrap design, the FalcoCargoBox is located at the charities head office on Orsman Road, Hackney and provides users with secure accommodation for a wide variety of cycles including cargo bikes, e-cargo bikes, adaptive bikes and oversized bikes.The specially designed FalcoCargoBox is fitted with the FalcoSmart locking-app, enabling users to operate the cargo hangar with their smartphone, omitting the need for physical keys, fobs or swipe cards.As demonstrated here, one of the great features of the FalcoCargobox is how attractive it can look, with the smooth design of the locker enabling it to host a variety of patterns, images, maps, collages, optical illusions and themes.The images attached show the new eye-catching FalcoCargoBox delivered and installed by Falco this summer.The secure cargo bike locker makes use of a high security lock. One Tower Bridge is a mixed-use development by Berkeley Homes. A total of nine blocks make up the development, containing 396 residential units, commercial and cultural spaces, a single storey basement area and a 20 storey residential tower block with roof top area. Buzon UK were commissioned by Maylim to supply DPH5 and BC5 adjustable pedestals, which were used across the entire project to support numerous decking areas, fencing, step and riser units and a wide range of bespoke seating. The random shaped pavers required a complex spacer tab layout, achieved effortlessly with the unique BC System.

Overview A collaborative project with our long-lasting customers Jet Environmental Systems resulted in the successful installation of three HEM-SLx 525kW heat exchange modules, aimed at providing warehouse heating for a prominent automotive component warehouse in Ellesmere Port. The project involved a bespoke-designed air handling unit (AHU) expertly manufactured by Linton Services Ltd and delivered as a comprehensive turnkey heating solutionBackgroundThe warehouse had a substantial floor area of 39,000m2 and a volume of 760,000m3. The main requirement was to maintain an internal temperature of 16C degrees, even during outdoor temperatures as low as -4C degrees. To ensure efficient heating and uniform distribution throughout the space, a HEM-SL heating solution with a capacity of 525kW and an airflow of 37.5m3/s was needed. The client preferred natural gas as the heating fuel, which Jet Environmental incorporated into their custom-designed air handling unit (AHU) manufactured by Linton Services Ltd in Presteigne.SolutionThe warehouse layout and heating load necessitated the use of three air-handling units. To ensure a reliable and robust heating system, Jet Environmental selected Powrmatic as the heating supplier. Jet Environmental, Linton Services, and Powrmatic have a longstanding relationship and extensive knowledge of each other’s businesses. This familiarity ensures seamless integration of their products and expertise.Each custom-designed HEM unit was manufactured in the UK at Powrmatic’s manufacturing in Ilminster, Somerset. By choosing British-built products, customers can have confidence in the reliability, durability, and adherence to strict industry standards. Each HEMx unit is custom made with a wide range of kW and size configurations and has been adapted to suit the needs of the OEM and AHU industry by the provision of its slot-in casing arrangement.ResultThe collaborative efforts of Jet Environmental Systems, Linton Services, and Powrmatic resulted in the successful implementation of an efficient heating solution for the automotive component warehouse. The customized AHUs, designed by Jet Environmental and manufactured by Linton Services, effectively delivered the required heating capacity to maintain a consistent internal temperature of 16C degrees. Powrmatic’s reliable heating equipment ensured optimal performance and met the client’s expectations.The client was impressed with the comprehensive turnkey solution provided by Jet Environmental Systems. This is the latest cycle hub designed, manufactured, supplied and installed this month by Falco for Rochdale Infirmary Hospital in Rochdale, Greater Manchester. Installed on behalf of Pennine Acute Hospitals NHS Trust, the new cycle hub provides patients, visitors and staff members travelling to the infirmary with up to 22 secure cycle parking spaces utilising the FalcoLevel-Premium+ two-tier cycle rack design.The two-tier cycle racks are housed within a bespoke 6m x 4m version of the FalcoHub cycle hub, completed with energy efficient LED lighting, a FalcoFix 2.0 cycle repair station, NHS branding graphics and powder coating in an NHS blue RAL colour.The images attached show the new cycle hub addition, installed next to the electric vehicle charging points and adjacent to the main entrance.Rochdale Infirmary is the second cycle hub installation carried out for Pennine Acute Hospitals NHS Trust, with another recent installation in November last year for The Royal Oldham Hospital, consisting of a bespoke 11m x 4m cycle hub with associated two-tier cycle racks, cycle helmet lockers, automatic powder door with a secure access system, branding graphics and powder coating.The FalcoLok cycle hub as shown here at Rochdale Infirmary, is a contemporary cycle store manufactured from a combination of a galvanised steel frame and reinforced safety glass, designed to be sympathetic to the surrounding area. In 2020, Paul Dow Joinery approached us to create the kits for a two 5 bed house luxury development he was undertaking in Burntisland. The client wished to create energy efficient, large open-plan house's with wrap around balconies and large glass expanses to allow lots of solar gain but also draw attention to the amazing view of the River Forth right across to Edinburgh.Fast forward to July 2023 and we've only been on site for 4 days and look at the headway that has been made on the first property. The ground and first level are almost complete and ready for the roof. The client has opted for a large glazed roof panel to allow light through the mezzanine level down to the ground level.The houses will promote various renewable's including an air source heat pump, underfloor heating, solar panels and triple glazing to compliment the high level of air tightness provided by the SIPS system.

The integration of Bandalux draperies with the combination of Blackout fabric and semi translucid providing and creating a combination of elegancy ambiance and a high energy efficiency in the common areas as well as in the private spaces . 

A global construction, energy and infrastructure organisation required a durable, chemical resistant floor coating solution with an anti-slip profile that would withstand the daily wear and tear of its internal vehicle repair and maintenance facility. VINCI Construction is part of VINCI Group, a multinational enterprise with operations in the energy, infrastructure and construction industries. Founded in 1899, the company now has a presence in over 120 countries with a global team of around 220,000 people. The Widnes facility is one of ten VINCI Construction UK locations and houses, among other facilities, a vehicle maintenance workshop where the company ensures their fleet of general and specialist vehicles. The industrial unit that houses the workshop previously had a concrete paving slab floor that proved to be uneven, unsafe, and difficult to maintain.  Not only did the new flooring solution need to address these concerns, it also needed to be both slip and chemical resistant as well as feature clearly marked automotive bays and provide enough durability to withstand frequent wheeled traffic as well as the impact of dropped tools and the weight of heavy equipment. Installed in a combination of RAL 7037 Dusty Grey and RAL 6024 Traffic Green, vebrores EP HBC was installed across the 332 m2 vehicle workshop, with the Traffic Green used to mark out the facility’s six automotive bays, before being outlined using vebrodeck PU Linemarker in Yellow. Prior to the installation of vebrores EP HBC SR – a system comprising an initial layer of vebro EP Primer followed two coats of vebro EP Universal with a broadcast of 52 mesh silica sand after the first coat for an anti-slip profile – the pre-existing concrete paving slabs were first coated with an epoxy DPM and a 20.0 mm screed to level the surface. vebrores EP HBC SR is a pigmented, solvent-free, slip-resistant high build epoxy floor coating system that is best suited to floors in medium duty processing areas where a textured, hard-wearing, chemical resistant finish is required. Available in a wide range of BS 4008 or RAL matched shades, the system is ideally suited to areas where there is a need for navigational demarcation and zoning. 

Contractors building new offices and warehouses in Staffordshire have used Nullifire’s SC902 to complete the passive fire protection of the exposed steel frames successfully despite harsh winter conditions. Main contractor, McLaren Construction, is building the new Redhill Business Park in Stafford for Staffordshire County Council. The 40-acre greenfield site comprises seven plots earmarked for industrial, manufacturing and warehousing development.

Over 1,200m² of Protan SE 1.2mm PVC single-ply membrane was installed in the Protan Vacuum roof system at Butlins Splashworld, Skegness. The roof system required no mechanical restraint or adhesives (except for around the roof perimeter and penetrations), as it relies upon the wind to keep the membrane in place with the help of Protan vacuum vents installed at locations designed by Protan's Technical Services Department. William Bird of Protan partner roofing contractor, Roofdec Ltd, commented, "Protan's vacuum roof system is quicker to install than conventional fully-adhered or mechanically-fixed systems."

As part of The New Tube for London project, trains, stations and tracks of the London Underground Network are being modernised to increase each line’s capacity and passenger comfort. Juta UK were involved in this scheme as the Brownfield site contained aggressive chemicals which were costly and difficult to remediate and remove. Residual hydrocarbons and ground gas hazards required prevention from entering the structure, which has a complex layout with basement and retaining elements. Juta were able to help at all stages in construction process from initial specification through to detailing to provide a sustainable solution which performs the intended function for the lifetime of the structure.

Architectural glazing systems by Kawneer were specifically selected for a £18.5 million extension to the UK’s oldest business school for their ability to meet the building’s design aesthetic and high-performance requirements. The new 3,000m2 extension features Kawneer’s AA®110 and AA®100 mullion-drained curtain wall systems with capped and capless mullions as well as AA®100 zone-drained fully-capped curtain wall. The AA®100 system, with 50mm sightlines, was used in all areas with the exception of two full-height curtain wall screens which featured on the building’s ‘social space’ characteristic that utilised the AA®110 system with 65mm sightlines.

As the first school in the UK to be approved for all three IB Programmes, Southbank has flourished from its humble beginnings in London’s South Bank with just a few dozen students, and is now a renowned multi-campus institution in the heart of London. Kawneer’s aluminium AA®100 zone-drained curtain wall and thermally superior AA®720 entrance doors feature on all elevations of Unit 216 at the UK’s leading science park, while AA®190 TB severe-duty doors have been used on the main entrance. The unit was taken back to a concrete shell and rebuilt with a brick and glazed façade by main contractor Hutton Construction and is now the new home for Amgen, one of the world’s largest independent biotechnology companies.

Constructed in 2009, Cardiff International Sports Stadium is the most important athletics stadium in Wales, with capacity for 2,553 seated and 2,400 standing spectators. It serves as the headquarters of Welsh Athletics, the organisation governing Welsh athletics and which is part of UK Athletics, the national umbrella body for sport.The stadium has been given a new look in 2019, with the running track as well as the sprint sections and sector surfaces extensively renovated by Polytan. The choice for the new synthetic surface fell on the “professional among sports surfaces” – the Rekortan M from Polytan. It features in many large athletics stadiums around the world, where its outstanding acceleration and tread elasticity have proven the worth of the surface in international elite sport. For the retopping in the Cardiff International Sports Stadium, the complete renewal of the tartan top was accompanied by a change in the colour of the surface: the athletes are now training and competing on a Rekortan M in “Hertha blue”. Hertha blue is an intensive blue shade that became famous the world over when it was first used in the Olympic Stadium in Berlin in 2004. The sprint sections and the sector surfaces in Cardiff, however, remained in classic brick red, presenting a striking visual contrast with the blue running track and the blue run-up tracks in the sectors.The stadium operators decided to use the opportunity of the surface retopping to add a technical innovation, the Polytan SmarTracks time and data recording system. This is designed to enable comprehensive performance diagnostics of the athletes using timing gates embedded invisibly in the surface. The running time, speed, step length, step frequency and jump height of the users can be recorded and analysed. The system is installed not just on an inside lane but also on two sprint sections.

Here at Helmsman, we have manufactured and installed two-compartment bespoke laminate lockers multiple times, and this was our third time working alongside Bombardier Services UK. The specification of the lockers was 1900mm high, 300mm wide, and 450mm deep. The bespoke laminate lockers were completed with end panels and sloping tops which is an excellent choice that reduces dust collection.The body of the laminate lockers was in our standard shade of ‘Ice’. The doors were in the shade of ‘Primeval Oak’ by Greenlam to match the light aesthetics of the room as well as to match the lockers that were manufactured and installed by Helmsman in 2022. The Laminate lockers were decorated with oval laminated number plates above the Camlocks. The Camlocks are a great choice in accessories, they assure the users that their personal belongings are safe and secure.
