Partitioning specialist Style, recently installed a comprehensive solution for another etc.venues event facility in Piccadilly, Manchester. This is the eighth time Style has worked with etc.venues and Synergy architects, having previously developed partitioning wall systems for seven prestigious room hire amenities in central London.
On this occasion, Style was contracted to deliver flexibility to a large open area, allowing hire opportunities to be fully capitalised by dividing the space into numerous rooms of different sizes, exactly meeting the changing needs of clients. A total of nine DORMA Variflex moveable walls were installed, providing exceptional acoustic privacy of 55dB.

Creating highly adaptable working space, Style has installed four Dorma moveable wall systems to the Berkshire offices of a world leading multinational pharmaceutical and life sciences company. For this high-spec project, Style worked with architects, Perkins and Will, and contractor, Tetris Bluu.
Finished in a blue fabric combined with magnetic white boards, the semi-automatic operation walls are both functional and practical.

Style first installed DORMA moveable walls at global law firm, Mayer Brown, back in 2007, soon after announcing its exclusive UK partnership with DORMA. After 12 years, Mayer Brown decided to update its flexible space with the latest operable wall technology.
Working with MCM Architecture, and contractor Overbury, Style installed two semi-automatic Variflex partitions and three Skyfold vertical-rising, fully automatic systems, both taken from the comprehensive DORMA range of operable walls. Mayer Brown visitors and staff now enjoy outstanding acoustic privacy between divided areas of 52dB Rw for the Variflex’s and 59dB Rw for the Skyfolds.

For example, the fully-automatic Skyfold Zenith is stored out of sight in the ceiling cavity. At the touch of a button it slides down as almost entirely flat panels, allowing a room to be quickly divided without even moving furniture. Working directly with St. Jude’s Academy in Wolverhampton, leading operable wall specialist Style installed a moveable wall to separate a dual-purpose classroom. Dramatically improving the use of space, the sliding partitioning system allows teachers the flexibility to quickly reconfigure the classroom from a single large teaching/activity space into two smaller classrooms that can operate side-by-side.
Following the installation, Style was also appointed as the servicing and repair agent for this and five other moveable walls within the school. Routine servicing will protect the school’s investment by ensuring smooth and safe operation of each wall.

Recognising this, Rushton Hall, a magnificent Grade I listed country house hotel in the Midlands, contracted Style to add flexibility to the newly refurbished Library and main function rooms, allowing privacy when required but also ensuring the area could be opened out for larger gatherings. DORMA Variflex was agreed as the most suitable moveable wall for this historic building and Style installed two separate partitions to give maximum flexibility across three rooms, all in a stunning finish to complement the elegant interior design.

A ‘full house’ of Clement steel door screens and partitions

This North London family home has undergone a total transformation by our client Sara-Int Renovations Ltd. Two existing extensions have been demolished, the front entrance has been repositioned and the lower ground floor entirely rebuilt. The terrace off the living room was also reconstructed and now benefits from a spiral staircase which connects to the garden.
The newly designed house showcases various styles of bespoke Clement steel window door screens and partitions, all with genuine T bars.

As part of a £2.4m transformation, Style was contracted to deliver flexibility to the ground floor meeting rooms of the Corby Holiday Inn, enabling the space to be quickly adapted to accommodate different functions and therefore maximise revenues. Working with CBP Architects directly with Holiday Inn, Style’s partitioning solution divides a single open-plan space for larger gatherings into two or three separate meetings rooms, using two DORMA Variflex moveable walls. Finished in a stylish antique oak laminate, and providing impressive 52dB Rw acoustics, concurrent events can take place undisturbed and the room can be reconfigured with ease.

This project gave us the opportunity to use Sonik Slide as our new acoustic pocket double glazed sliding door, which can be specified as a single or double door set within its own unique frameless glass. On this project, Sonik Slide double door sets were specified and installed.
Sonik Slide has been designed to focus on ease of installation and to allow light to flood through the workplace whilst ensuring high acoustic performance is maintained.

Highcliffe School in Dorset originally requested a visit from Style’s service and repair team, to offer advice regarding a moveable wall that was no longer functioning. Allowing the space to be rapidly reconfigured, Style installed a DORMA Moveo semi-automatic glazed moveable wall, which quickly forms a central divide to create two substantial meeting rooms. A second DORMA wall sub-divides that space into two further, smaller rooms.

Split over basement, ground and three upper floors, the Charles Doll Building on Grape Street, London, offers a contemporary and functional specification in this stunning office refurbishment. The development mixes industrial elements with a crisp modern aesthetic by carefully combining characterful architectural features, including vaulted ceilings with exposed brick and steelwork.Named after its architect Charles Fitzroy Doll, the building is clad in decorative thé-au-lait (“tea with milk”) terracotta – Doll's use of grand façades is understood to have resulted in the expression, ‘all dolled up’. The first floor has been fitted out to a high standard with office furniture from Vitra, providing the perfect space for those who want to move in and get straight to work.The lobby mixes vibrate contemporary wall art with industrial light fittings and brickwork. Forza’s in-house CAD team planned the bespoke black oak Firescreen partition wall to match the architect's design. As a market leading passive fire product, this Firescreen provides both integrity from Smoke and Fire and insulation from heat. This is important because in a fire emergency heat has been shown to ignite secondary fires to items, such as curtains or carpets, that are near the other side of non-insulated partitions.Via the Thinking Space Design & Build, Forza Doors supplied twenty FD30 Fire Doors with stained frames and skirting boards to match throughout the five floors of The Charles Doll Building. Chosen to match the steelwork throughout the development, the dark satin finish of the doors was selected from Forza’s Creato range of dyed veneers. This ‘Illunis’ finish is one of twelve fashionable choices in the range. Dyed veneers are an increasingly popular choice with designers as they offer cost savings over stained veneers without compromising quality.The Doors with glass vision panels, required to allow light through to the stairwells, feature our flush and quirk bead. A minimalist design option where one side of the doors is completely flush right up to the glass vision panel and the other side has a very simple elegant bead detailing.

Meeting the design intent, as well as performance requirements, our Polar 54 system was installed. he sightline of the framework is a minimal 32mm, providing a contemporary and discreet narrow-gauged structure, without compromising on strength and performance. The black powder coating on the aluminium trackwork used for this project seamlessly complemented the industrial tones running throughout the space.

Komfort’s Polar collection was used throughout the project. Double glazed Polar’s simplistic method of installation, relocatability and powerful acoustic properties made it an intelligent option for this fit-out. Whilst, Polar single glazed minimalist form facilitated speed of erection without compromising structural stability and rigidity. Deflection heads +/- 25mm were used for both systems.
Additionally, the Sonik collection provided enhanced acoustic performance whilst also creating an open-plan modern feel.

To provide and encourage a stimulating and supportive business development environment for innovators, their premises was completely refurbished.The Brief in BriefThe co-working space is a stylish art deco alternative, which was designed to encourage collaboration and productivity for all.Hot desks and “pods” were designed and installed to create a flexible working environment for individuals or small teams. The facilities include laboratory and office space, access to high-end equipment, shared services, training, business support and access to investment. Aligning to the purpose of the facility, building performance was a key aspect of the brief.Komfort’s SolutionWith the intent of meeting performance requirements, Komfort’s glazed Firescreens were installed in the reception area. Komfort’s technical and project management teams worked closely with the design team to provide a solution to fully glaze the reception area from floor to ceiling.Our specialist internal glazing and firescreens provide a fire rating of up to 2 hours, along with sound and structural performance. Utilising thin glass, minimal framing and exceptional structural performance the specialist internal glazing and firescreens are unique, combining aesthetics with performance.The End ResultKomfort thoroughly enjoyed being a part of the design process and working so closely with Roshal Space Consultants. The building now serves the purpose of providing an ideal and inspiring environment for both start-up and established companies to grow and achieve success, whilst adhering to building performance requirements.

To complete the contemporary professional environment that Mills & Reeve wanted, Komfort’s Sonik Slide double glazed sliding doors were installed to all the meeting rooms. The Sonik collection provides enhanced acoustic performance whilst also creating an open-plan modern feel.
For the stunning fully glazed atrium, which stretched above the ground floor restaurant, Komfort’s Polar single glazing was used. Polar single glazed is designed with a minimum number of components, and thus facilitates the speed of erection without compromising structural stability and rigidity.
Polar single glazing was also used on the office fronts with timber doorframes.

The main focus points were to improve internal aesthetics and to enhance the customer experience of the building. Both Brown and Bancroft and Bridge Architects were contracted to create calm, contemporary and exciting office spaces.
Komfort’s Kross Glaze was installed on the 5th floor. Kross glaze is a development of our existing systems (Polar Single Glazed / Polar Double Glazed and 600 series) but provides a design solution to the recent trend of Crittall glazing within residential and commercial interiors. Kross Glaze is an intelligent solution for offices where space is precious.
