THE PROJECTThe Royal Wharf is a new town built within the city of London, the development introduced over 3000 new residential units in a prominent and beautiful riverside location. Headed up by Ballymore, this location is over 40 acres of land, minutes from Canary Wharf and just half an hour from Oxford Street. Making it a very desirable place to live in London. The idea was to bring a community within the development, to ensure this there is also a new school, GP surgery, high street, pubs, and community centre.The amenities offered include a concierge service, gym and swimming pool, parks, and a riverside walk. The development boasts a rich and textured community.THE PRODUCTThe Safety Letterbox was delighted to work with Ballymore again on the incredible development. We supplied over 3000 units of apartments and homes all over the neighborhood. Ballymore Decided on our front entry/front retrieval H1 steel flap letterboxes. These horizontal mailboxes were also fitted with an aperture restructure to comply with the Secured by Design Home 2019.Powder-coated in a stunning bespoke Satin Gold with vinyl lettering for identification, they really do look incredible within the multiple building of the Royal Wharf.

AluK’s 58BW and 58BD profiles feature in a contemporary new development in Ancoats, once the heart of Manchester’s cotton industry but now one of the city’s most vibrant and creative districts, and recently named by The Times as one of the UK’s 20 coolest places to live. The £3.7m POPworks project by Heatley Developments (https://www.heatleydevelopments.com/) converted a former solicitors’ office into a mixed-use development, with commercial units on the ground floor and 28 stylish apartments on the four floors above.

ASF were specified on the above project, initially to supply the standard 3 rail version of the popular ASF Buckingham Posts. After the initial specification the client decided that they wanted the posts longer and have an additional rail, so a 1400mm high 4 rail version was produced. Alongside this there was a need for steep step units, and specialist post and rail systems meeting some complicated access steps to the beach area. ASF produced bespoke patterns for these areas

Gerrard House and Hatfield Close, London are three high-rise blocks owned and managed by Lewisham Homes. In late 2017, work began with main contractors United Living, specialist housing consultancy Michael Dyson Associates and consultants 4i Solutions to urgently remove the existing cladding. Once the final panel was removed in December 2017, work commenced to install the A1 fire-rated Argeton terracotta cladding, supplied by Taylor Maxwell and installed by Novo Facades.

The world’s leading museum of art and design, the V&A Museum, appointed Consultancy Webb Yates to carry out significant design upgrade work to its ventilation systems to provide heating and cooling for the staff kitchen and back of house area. A small window provided the only access point to the installation area in the courtyard. S&P UK was selected to supply a heat recovery unit that could fit through the small access point and meet the bespoke requirements of the building

Fire extinguishers are a vital piece of the Active Fire Protection puzzle; often the first line of defence they are integral to preventing costly fire damage and ultimately, loss of life.The importance of fire extinguishers is highlighted in Chapter 4 of the UAE Fire and Life Safety Code of Practice: “Portable Fire Extinguishers are the best available first response to table the fire at its incipient stage.”The Code of Practice adds that to ensure this first aid response, fire extinguishers shall be “kept in their designated places at all times when they are not being used” and “conspicuously located where they will be readily accessible and immediately available in the event of fire.”However, the misuse and neglect of fire extinguishers and their accessories in Dubai’s buildings is not uncommon, rendering them inaccessible or ineffective in a real emergency.As part of the Office of the UAE Attorney General’s ongoing campaign to increase the public’s level of awareness of the law, it was announced that fines and even jail sentences would be handed down for fire extinguisher misuse.The office states in Article 311 of the Federal Penal code, that: “Any person who removes a fire extinguisher or changes its location or renders it unfit for use shall be punished by a jail sentence for no less than one year or a fine of not less than 50,000 AED.”With requirements for extinguishers to be installed near doors or exits, it is all too tempting for fire extinguishers to be used as temporary doorstops.Seeking to improve airflow, the removal of fire extinguishers to wedge open doors threatens to undermine fire safety, making the extinguisher difficult to locate in an emergency.Safety Technology International’s Extinguisher Stopper® is a sturdy, tamperproof, standalone alarm that prevents the misuse or unwanted removal of fire extinguishers. The Moores Orthopaedic Clinic, located in the picturesque village of Upton Grey, Basingstoke, has completed a major new build project to deliver a specialist veterinary orthopaedic clinic, featuring a 21st century interior using bespoke fitted furniture from David Bailey Furniture Systems Ltd.This successful project called for the design of a veterinary facility that could seamlessly blend innovation, hygiene, and efficiency. The practice also needed to have spaces that catered to various needs, from patient care areas to preparation rooms and theatres.Additionally, as this was a new build contract, it was essential to ensure that every piece of fitted furniture matched the architect's vision and the practice's functional requirements.To deliver the project, The Moores Orthopaedic Clinic partnered with architects, ACD Projects and ACG Contractors Limited. David Bailey Furniture, known for its expertise in crafting bespoke fitted furniture solutions, was chosen as the supplier and manufacturer.The areas within the facility where David Bailey Furniture products were installed included the dog ward, corridors, preparation room, sterilisation room, sterile stores, operating theatres, and a tearoom.A wide range of fitted furniture products were supplied including double base units, double sink base units and open tall, wall and double drawer base units. The selected finish for the furniture was a classic S040 White Frontage, featuring white MFC carcasses with MDF doors featuring chrome D handles.David Bailey Furniture also supplied several bespoke elements such as bullnose fully moulded worktops with ABS lipping in S040 white; worktops, which were also mitred in specific areas for a clean and seamless finish, together with sloping tops, which were added to all wall units to ensure infection control compliance.The collaboration between ACD Projects, ACG Contractors Limited, and David Bailey Furniture led to meticulous planning, numerous revisions, and strict attention to detail during the design and verification phases. Project Overview: Re-imagination of a first-generation Canary Wharf building. ServiceFull hardware scheduling service. Project Details This clever redesign of YY London by Architects Buckley Gray Yeoman (BGY) centres around the wellbeing of its occupants created by maximising natural light, reducing overall energy demand and choosing materials that support health and well being. The space was reimagined to incorporate a new triple height lobby with feature staircase, floor to ceiling glazing throughout to maximise natural light and the addition of outside terraces on most floors.3v worked in partnership with BGY to develop the perfect Ironmongery scheme to enhance their design aspirations. Scheduled in the aftermath of Covid, the scheme included a full hardware scheduling service incorporating the use of a biocote anti bacterial finish in high traffic areas on all tangible stainless steel products such as pull handles and push plates. ‘Chris and the 3v team were a pleasure to work with and proactive in helping us adapt the ironmongery package in response to the pandemic. Project detailsIconic London restaurant The Ivy has undergone a major renovation project that has taken five months to complete. This dramatic refurbishment was completed in time to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the restaurant. Although dramatic, much of its original identity such as the trademark stained glass windows remains.The interior design team behind ‘The Ivy’ has previously worked on other restaurants in the same group including Scott’s, the J Sheekey Oyster Bar and Daphne’s in South Kensington.The restaurant has had a modern makeover, the bar has been relocated to the middle of the room and is surrounded by pink leather and mohair bar stools, in the main restaurant booths as well as private corner tables have replaced the original seating arrangement. Project overviewWorking alongside our clients we manufactured and supplied the internal ventilation grilles and diffusers throughout the restaurant including linear bar grilles, floor grilles, linear slot diffusers and air valves.Our products provided both supply and extract ventilation with accessories and optional paint finishes to suit our clients’ exact requirements. The landmark Health Innovation One building is an innovation hub offering co-location space for external organisations as well as being the new home for Lancaster University’s Medical School and Division of Health Research. The space is designed to encourage collaboration, where external organisations can draw upon the University’s expertise to address significant health challenges and improve health and wealth outcomes in the region and beyond.Architects John McAslan + Partners sought to realise the University’s ambition to establish itself as a major international presence in the field of Health and Medicine through the design of this new HIC. JMP’s campus masterplan will bring together businesses, the NHS, students and academics from a broad range of disciplinary backgrounds. Central to this campus is the Innovation Hub, representing phase one of the development.The scheme comprises a café, quiet reading areas, private meeting rooms, open breakout zones and a business lounge for more formal conversations. Close consultation with the University’s Faculty of Health and Medicine has resulted in a scheme that offers maximum flexibility, the promotion of interdisciplinary working and collaboration, the provision of exceptional working and learning environments, and a holistic building design that is sustainable and energy efficient, targeting an ‘Outstanding’ BREEAM standard.To achieve this performance for the £3M glazing package, fabricator Alucraft working to main contractor BAM Construct, utilised Metal Technology’s System 17 Curtain Walling in a bronze anodised finish and from our Thermal ranges, System 5-20D Doors and 5-20 windows.

Opened on 3rd of September 2013, the Library of Birminghamoffers world class facilities and resources to transform livesthrough learning, knowledge and culture, providing an excitingand inspiring visitor experience for all.Designed by Dutch architects Mecanoo, the £186m building,was a key part of Birmingham’s “big city” regeneration plan.The new building is situated in the cultural heart of the city,comprising of performance spaces, rooftop terraces and alarge glass-topped central book rotunda that rises throughthe middle of the building, echoing the traditional great roundreading room of the British Museum. It shares an entranceway and performance studio with the neighbouring RepertoryTheatre, whilst the Symphony Hall and the National IndoorArena are situated nearby.The intricate steel lattice work that covers the outside ofthe building represents both the city’s industrial past andits heritage in jewellery making. It reflects and dissects thedaylight to create ever-changing shadows on the library’s wallsand floors. The golden rotunda at the top of the building sitsthe Shakespeare memorial room, housing the original carvedwood panels from the memorial room at the city’s demolishedVictorian Library.Allgood supplied a full Alite package that included doorfurniture, signage and mechanical door hardware, whileAllgood Trio supplied electronic locks and key switches. Dueto the specific requirements of the design of some of thedoors, Allgood had to supply bespoke products to match thespecification of the project.On 17 July 2014 the Library of Birmingham was nominated asone of the six short-listed buildings for the 2014 Stirling Prize,awarded for excellence in architecture

The Ascent Aluminium companionway / ships ladder system was specified to create a permanent safe access route to the roof of refrigeration units within Aldi stores for maintenance personnel. A companionway was chosen as it is deemed preferable to a vertical ladder where frequent access is required. The ladder designed in accordance with BS 4211:2005 + A1 2008 was manufactured in accordance with CE 1090 factory production control procedures. The ladders have been installed within around 700 stores across the UK.

Manufactured from light-weight, durable aluminium components, the Ecco concertina loft ladder is easy to operate yet still offers excellent performance. Capable of supporting loads of 150 kg per step, it is also tested to EN 14975 (DN 4570). It is supplied as a ready to fit unit for ceiling apertures as small as 800mm long by 550mm wide. Pembury Circus in Hackney is a vibrant new residential development consisting of 268 units, re-establishing lost pedestrian routes through the estate and making a positive contribution to the townscape. The project was nominated for the 2019 Schüco Excellence Awards in the ‘Residential Development’ category. Pembury Circus now provides a setting for a successful mixed community of all ages – offering dedicated homes for older people, a nursery, a large community centre with neighbourhood management offices, shops, a new public open space and play area.

Tobermore came up with the successful solution. The Queen Elizabeth University Hospital has replaced the previous Southern General Hospital, and amalgamates it with the Royal Hospital for Sick Children at Yorkhill, the Western and Victoria Infirmaries and the Mansionhouse Unit. The facility, which extends to 28.6 hectares, forms one of the largest acute hospitals in the UK.

The Bath Spa University development is an attractive courtyard design with individual houses for up to 10 students where 561 will be housed in these new residential units amidst the beautiful countryside. The objective of the scheme was to deliver with minimal disruption to the student's experience on a tight schedule maximising the use of the summer holiday period to suit delivering the programme deadline. Phase 2 of the Bath Spa University development consists of over eight blocks, each utilising an application of external wall insulation covering 4,800m2with a value of £665.000.

Telford’s Leegomerry Community Centre provides a range of services to the local community and surrounding areas including educational courses, assistance for job seekers and other social activities, as well as providing care and education for children from 2 to 5 years.To help provide children with washroom facilities tailored to their specific needs, cubicles and vanity units from the Pendock Education range have been installed, which include durable high-pressure laminate doors and panels finished in bright primary colours

Manchester Airport is an international airport at Ringway, Manchester, England, 7.5 nautical miles south-west of Manchester city centre. In 2019, it was the third busiest airport in the United Kingdom in terms of passenger numbers and the busiest of those not serving London. Working alongside architects Pascall+Watson and subcontractor The Invicta Group, Promat has played a key role in the £1bn Manchester Airport Transformation Programme (MAN-TP), which will see the airport significantly grow and modernise throughout the early 2020s.

One Hyde Park is a major residential and retail complex located in Knightsbridge, London. The development includes three retail units totaling 35,800 m2 and 86 residential properties with prices starting at around £20 million. Buzon UK installed 28,000 DPH pedestals to support Ipe timber decking to all roofs across all four buildings. The project was a success and Buzon UK were proud to be involved in installing their first-class products to one of London’s most prestigious developments.

Eternit’s fibre cement open protected ridges were used to create an effective ventilation system in the bull accommodation unit at Knocknagael Bull Stud Farm - ensuring a constant outflow of stale, moist air. The width of the air gap created by the open ridge was specifically designed for the number of bulls and size of the building. Profile 6 sheeting from Eternit was also specified for the roof, thanks to its durability and low maintenance costs, as well as its noise insulation properties.

Is an upcoming development by Damac Properties, that will be located in the heart of Business Bay, Dubai. The development will be home to an impressive mix of residential units, hotel rooms, and office space. Fire safety was a priority on this project. It was used the Effisus Vapour FR System, that works as a vapour control layer, protecting the building from condensation risk and improving the airtightness and consequently the energy efficiency, and the Effisus Bonding KF+P, an innovative bonding solvent free, with exceptional properties of adhesiveness, waterproofing and UV resistance.

The National Rehabilitation Hospital in Dún Laoghaire, Dublin, is a hospital rehabilitation treatment for patients who have a physical or cognitive disability due to illness or injury. The new 17,000msq development at the hospital included a fit for purpose ward accommodation block comprising 120 single ensuite isolation rooms with integrated therapy spaces, a new sports hall, hydrotherapy unit, links to the existing building which will ensure full integration between the new development and the existing hospital on the site, and significant campus infrastructure upgrades.

150m2 of Oranit Shiluvit panels in Poplar were used to clad the walls and ceiling of the multi-use event space, the Pickle Factory in East London.Part of the larger Oval Space group, the pickle factory is an ex-industrial unit in Tower Hamlets designed for more intimate live music and acoustic events and has hosted corporate events for companies including Google, Forza, and Joypad.The natural finish Poplar timber Shiluvit panels are also in keeping with the versatility of the space.

This project involved the removal of the existing factory finish to an industrial unit in the West Midlands, followed by cut edge corrosion treatment and full roof & parapet coating. Once the original finish had been removed using high pressure jet washing, all of the end laps to the roof sheets were coated with SWT (Surface & Wet Tolerant) corrosion primer, to prevent further rusting. Once cured, the roof was coated with the BBA Approved Metalseal 20 to a film thickness of approx 300 microns.

This project, to coat approximately 2000 sq metres of asbestos roof with the BBA Approved Asbestsoeal system is a lesson for all in correct health and safety. Liquasil provides all approved installers with H&S training as standard. This deals with correct use of netting, scaffold, walkways, work platforms and waste water filtration from asbestos roof cleaning. Having already completed 500sq metres on a unit a year previously, the contractor was invited back to complete the rest of the block, which is the best possible endorsement.

The Tees Valley Hospital located on Church Lane in Acklam, Middlesbrough has used the Genesis NSL26 with a black insert for its staircase leading from the ground floor to the upper. The NSL26 is a slimline rakeback nosing that provides an excellent level of anti slip which is the perfect choice for a health care unit. The NSA stair edge trims have been used in conjunction with the NSL26 and they finish the staircase off perfectly by providing protection for the step ends whilst remaining aesthetically pleasing.

Situated in the heart of Knightsbridge, Peninsula’s London flagship hotel will boast views across Hyde Park Corner and Buckingham Palace Gardens. The development, which includes a 190-room hotel in addition to 26 luxury residencies, represents Peninsula’s first development in the United Kingdom. We have produced a bespoke ironmongery suite to the clients design, paying particular attention to the room entrance doors, internal cabinetry and on-suite facilities.
