Crystal Window & Door Systems supplied more than 2,000 windows and doors for the project, all of which were coated in Powdura® 5000 powder coatings from Sherwin-Williams General Industrial Coatings. The finishes for the windows, doors and louvers used Bronze and Black colors. The Powdura coatings meet AAMA 2605 requirements, and provide efficiency and sustainability benefits for the multifamily residential building.The Lenox has since been awarded with a LEED Silver certification. Sherwin-Williams powder coatings can help contribute up to 3 LEED v4.1 credits in the category of Building Products Disclosure and Optimisation. Powdura 5000 coatings have near-zero VOCs and result in almost no waste during application. These coatings also have Environmental Product Declarations, certified by the NSF. This delightful Arts and Crafts home has recently been fitted with new steel windows from the Clement Brooking range and Clement W20 steel doors.As the property is located in the Hampstead Garden Suburb, a Conservation Area, it was imperative that the new bespoke windows and doors closely matched the look of the originals. The fenestration includes a mix of genuine T bars and beautiful Fenestra joints for both the windows and doors but also some charming leaded light windows.Clement has a wealth of experience working within the Suburb and for this project we knew the slim frames of our Brooking range, combined with our W20 doors, would work perfectly for the mix of styles found at this property.The leaded light windows had unique handle plates. Thriving family run garden centre upgrades their automatic sliding door entranceLocated in Ayrshire, the long established Hayes Garden Land Symington replaced their existing entrance with a new solution.Project Year:  2022Product: ASSA ABLOY SL500 Frame 4 Panel Bi-parting door. Project Background: As a returning customer, Hayes Garden Land approached us with a brief to replace their tired sliding door system with a modern solution which also tied in with the existing building fabric and internal decoration. With energy prices soaring, it was also important to come up with an efficient solution which maximised heat retention within the building.Solution: We successfully designed, manufactured and installed a 4 panel bi-parting SL500 fully framed system in matching Terra Brown finish, resulting in a seamless integration within the building. To mitigate operational issues & improve safety features - due to close proximity of internal swing doors - we supplied and installed clear glazed barriers and removed several potential risk factors during the design process. In 2015, Roger Stretton, an architect and one of the foundersof the practice Berman Guedes Stretton, and Martin Smithcollaborated to bring to fruition their shared enthusiasm forcontemporary, cutting edge, environmentally-friendly residentialdesign.On an attractive, mature garden site near Dorchester in Dorset,two 2,100 sq ft detached, two-storey houses were designedaround south facing courtyards with a one-and-a-half storeyheight living room.When designing the properties, environmentally responsiblematerials, products and processes were at the forefront ofthe specification. To this end, incorporating renewable andinnovative technologies, such as air-source heat pumps and heatrecovery ventilation systems enable the buildings to be highlyenergy efficient.Having previously used Allgood products, Roger recognisedthe brand for its quality and reliability, and consequentlyspecified Allgood’s Alite lever handles and Allgood doorsetsfor the project. He explains, “The new houses have a modern,minimalist design, so it was essential that the ironmongery anddoors complemented this approach, Allgood’s stainless steel Alitehandles and bespoke finished doors met these requirements.”To complement the interior architecture of the buildings, Allgoodsupplied doorsets incorporating fully fabricated and finishedflush doors with rebated frames to create a perimeter shadowgap. Installed by WD Group for main contractors RG Carter, the curtain walling was an integral part of architects Stride Treglown’s vision for the landmark structure, which also features a flying roof. It features AluK’s SL52 flexible capped curtain walling system throughout, with an entrance door fabricated using the suited GT55TB door system. The diagonal design and irregular angles meant that AluK had to create a solution with multiple transom and mullion sections which was cost effective, while still being true to the aesthetic and meeting the static considerations and performance requirements laid out.

Positioned at the end of Stansted Airport runway, is a brand-new College which opened its doors for the first time in September 2018. With just one runway serving all take off and landings, and the college’s location not far from the end of it, noise was a big concern. Selectaglaze helped provide a tailor-made solution with secondary glazing. It is the most effective method of acoustic insulation for windows in extremely noisy areas. Selectaglaze installed 32 units across the college with their Series 10 - 2 and 3 pane horizontal sliders and a Series 41 casement door.

A stunning ‘roundhouse’ curved garage door, built as part of a project to renovate and extend a Grade II listed property, provides a new perspective on the design, purpose and visual appeal of an exceptional British garage. The project at the large family home in Surrey encompassed internal alterations, restoration of a five metre high bay window to the main house and the creation of a four bay garage. The garage’s purpose, usage and desired appearance meant fusing traditional design with contemporary solutions, with Rundum Meir tailor-made garage doors being key to delivering on the architects’ vision.

When Mersey Care upgraded their existing leaf-and-a half bedroom door arrangements, they wanted to improve the anti-barricade access and robustness of their doors – while still having a clear opening width of 1000mm. They found the leaf-and-a-half arrangement wasn’t ideal – with a bulky meeting stile and additional exposed metalwork. To address this, we proposed an extra-wide single leaf Symphony doorset. Aided by market-leading fire evidence, the leaf is 1100mm providing a clear opening of 1050mm – more than enough space for a service user and two members of staff.

DESIGN BRIEF / OVERVIEWStrata Tower was the first development in the world where wind turbines were constructed within the fabric of the building, setting new standards in sustainable living and becoming one of London’s new icons. Our brief: to design a ground floor entrance that was as commanding as the building above it.SOLUTION:The Strata Tower's 4.5 meter high automatic revolving main entrance door, with enhanced security features and frameless 4.5 meter high automatic pass door, was developed by Open Entrances to meet BFLS' (formerly Hamiltons Masterplanners) design intent.

Crystal Window & Door Systems fabricated over 2,100 windows and doors for the project. All of the windows and the storefront of the structure were coated in Powdura® 5000 coatings from Sherwin-Williams General Industrial Coatings,in the colors Bronze and Cloud. The fluoropolymer resins and solar reflective pigments in this powder coating defend against UV radiation, enhance thermal stability and deliver a hard, durable finish to combat wear and tear. As a result, the materials will require less maintenance, because the durability of these coatings will serve to protect the integrity of the structure’s design well into the future.

A Selectaglaze secondary glazing treatment to a set of patio doors in a suburban home in Cockfosters, North London makes a living room warmer and more comfortable for a couple’s new born baby. A Series 10 2-pane horizontal sliding unit was installed to the patio doors. The opening was 2m x 2m and it was important that the treatment would match the existing sightlines. Timber grounds were fixed into the reveal, which had skirting boards. Installers scribed into the timber frame to create matching grooves and nuances to fit snug in the reveal and over the skirting.

The £43 Million second phase of the regeneration of Bristol Harbourside features two new residential buildings and four retail units.The design by Alec French Architects reflects the area’s historic past and features an extensive thermally efficient glazing package. This includes Senior’s fixed light plus tilt & turn SPW600 aluminium windows, SPW501 aluminium commercial doors for emergency exits and inward opening SPW600 aluminium doors giving access to apartment balconies.The highly durable aluminium construction of Senior’s glazing systems makes them ideal for coastal and waterside buildings.

Architect: Suzanne Brewer Architects This striking new-build home sits in the heart of the Blackheath conservation area in South East London. The two storey structure features a large set of Grand Slider II sliding doors at ground floor level that seamlessly connects the living space with its garden. Constructed on the site of a former mews, the pavilion-style property features an innovative design with a completely open plan living space on the ground floor of the main structure which features the 5-panel, 11m wide set of sliding doors on an OXXXO configuration.

Award winning developer Hill required a seamless solution to accessing concealed bathroom services at The Scene, Walthamstow and their Park View development in Sidcup. Howe Green supplied the Tile-a-Door+ Wall Access Panels manufactured in a bespoke size to fit Hill’s specific tile grids. VISION 8000 Non fire rated doors were installed at Hamad International Airport.These were a bespoke specification to feature in the stone tiled walls.

Accoya was recommended by distributor Tecade for use in the construction of the building. Tecade recommended the use of Accoya to ensure that the building would sit well in its natural surroundings, while also maintaining its structural integrity in the harsh environment. Accoya was used for all applications throughout the home including the façade, interior doors, indoor & outdoor furniture, terrace, garage door & railings. The architect specified 28mm X 150mm of Accoya for the outdoor terrace & constructed the terrace furniture using around 1 cubic meters of Accoya to build 3 tables & 36 chairs for external use.

Accoya was used to construct the external windows, window reveals & doors. 38 Accoya fixed & opening windows were installed, & 22 glazed door leafs. They will require little maintenance over their lifetime due to the process in which the wood is made. Caspar Rodgers from Alma-nac commented: “We chose Accoya because we wanted to build using eco-friendly materials that could withstand the variable weather conditions that are characteristic of England’s southern coast. Designed by Gilling Dod Architects, Ancora House is an award-winning 30-bed CAMHS unit. When it was being built, the trust specified a need for practical and safe en-suite locksets that were also consistent with the window and door handles. Our Primera 1-way SOS (Staff Override System) locksets were fitted on all of the en-suite rooms, offering superior safety by allowing staff to unlock the door even if the service user was to hold the turn/pull. P Plus our standard anti-ligature push/pull handles was fitted across the ward, providing consistency .

A Rundum Original bespoke garage door provided the ideal solution for a stunning new contemporary home on the banks of Loch Tummel overlooking Perthshire’s famous mountain, Schiehallion. The building envelope’s dramatic parallel walls of sawn Caithness stone and polished concrete flank both sides of the house, with the property’s northern end featuring a dramatic main sitting room surrounded by two-storeys of frameless glass. An elegant Rundum Original side sliding garage door features to maintain the external beauty of the property, hand crafted to a bespoke design in Germany using Western Red Cedar.

Designed by Chaplin Farrant The Nest is a new community sports facility funded by the charity partner of Norwich City football club, to help improve the health and well-being of local residents.The development includes an impressive refurbished clubhouse with changing rooms, physio room, event and conference spaces plus a café and IT suite. Senior’s SF52 aluminium curtain wall and SPW600 aluminium windows have been used throughout the new building to give a light and airy feel. For inclusive access and security, a combination of SPW501 aluminium commercial doors and SD automatic sliding doors were installed.

Sutcliffe Park Sports Centre built in a Nature Reserve rich in wildlife, was designed to work with its surroundings and enhance the environment. This was achieved with a low-profile building to reduce the visual impact featuring a sleek and stylish façade sympathetic to its parkland location. Senior’s aluminium slim profile SF52 curtain wall, thermally-efficient SPW600e windows and SPW501 robust commercial doors give the centre a light and modern interior, whilst Senior’s bifolding Ali FOLD patio doors provide a comfortable viewing area plus easy access to the centre’s newly refurbished athletics track.

The Adelphi is an iconic art deco building & the plans for its refurbishment, took this into account, when thinking of its new design. We were asked to manufacture & supply, bespoke horizontally orientated, SG European oak veneered panels, fire performance doors & toilet cubicle fronts. Horizontal matching throughout called for a detailed analysis of the scheme, ensuring the horizontal matching was seamless throughout the project. All the veneer was a stained finish, making the project even more of a challenge as colour consistency throughout was key . We also supplied factory primed doors & framesets for finish on site.

The lightwell lift includes caged, enclosed sides to secure the load and prevent the risk of anything falling from the platform onto people below. Interlocked doors were fitted to prevent any accidents whilst the goods lift is in use. Interlocks ensure that the lift will only operate whilst the doors are locked shut, opening again once the lift has travelled to the level required. This provided the team with a safe and efficient lifting solution when moving their big commercial bins from below ground to pavement level. The 500kg capacity allows deliveries to be taken from kerbside to the basement.
