Lime mortar for restoration and redevelopment of York Guildhall

Limelite Heritage Lime Mortar, a lime based cement free mortar was chosen for renewal of iconic York Guildhall site. As well as matching the visual aesthetic, the flexibility of Limelite Heritage Lime Mortars allow for slight movement and thermal expansion throughout the life of the building and reduce the risk of cracking. They can also reduce the need for expansion joints to improve the final appearance and along with the ready-to use pre blended formula, reduce build time for the contractor.

Gerrard House and Hatfield Close, London are three high-rise blocks owned and managed by Lewisham Homes. In late 2017, work began with main contractors United Living, specialist housing consultancy Michael Dyson Associates and consultants 4i Solutions to urgently remove the existing cladding. Once the final panel was removed in December 2017, work commenced to install the A1 fire-rated Argeton terracotta cladding, supplied by Taylor Maxwell and installed by Novo Facades.
Case Study - Walraven Yeti feet in use on new Everton Stadium build

Due to the curved design of the new Everton Stadium structure, the contractors (Laing O’Rourke) were looking for M&E supports that could sit on the curved surfaces and still support the M&E installation correctly. Walraven were invited on site to discuss the Walraven Yeti solution, which is an all-in-one adjustable support foot for pitched roofs / curved surfaces. The Walraven Yeti foot was specified due to its ease of installation, adjustability and sustainable credentials.

Castlemead is a social housing block in the London Borough of Southwark, located in the busy Camberwell Road area. The vacant building was undergoing an internal refurbishment project, delivered by fit out specialist, Paragon, and as part of these works the main contractor brought in roofing specialist, Hambro Roofing, to carry out some repairs to the existing felt roof. It quickly became apparent that the existing roof surface had reached the end of its service life and actually required a full refurbishment.

Asbestos Roof Coating with maximum attention to health & safety

This project, to coat approximately 2000 sq metres of asbestos roof with the BBA Approved Asbestsoeal system is a lesson for all in correct health and safety.
Liquasil provides all approved installers with H&S training as standard. This deals with correct use of netting, scaffold, walkways, work platforms and waste water filtration from asbestos roof cleaning.
Having already completed 500sq metres on a unit a year previously, the contractor was invited back to complete the rest of the block, which is the best possible endorsement.
Waterproofing a Luxury London Hotel

Newton is proud to contribute to the transformation of the unique, Grade 1 listed Cambridge House in Piccadilly as it undergoes conversion into one of London's grandest hotels. The 18,000m2 scheme includes six adjacent Grade 2 listed residences, whilst a four-level basement will accommodate a spa as well as the back-of-house and servicing areas. In order to deliver a reliable, watertight solution for this £165m project, Newton worked closely with architects PDP London and leading enabling works contractor Deconstruct UK throughout the design and installation.
Naylor Lintels specified for Farmhouse Renovation

The farmhouse is situated within a conservation area in Tickhill near Doncaster and after 14 months of renovation is completed in November 2014. Naylor lintels were specified throughout and in some instances the walls of the building were so thick they required 4 Naylor lintels to be used side by side to make up the width.
Award winning Architects Coda Studios and Contractor Terry Huggett worked closely with the client to convert and extend the somewhat rundown farmhouse and outbuildings into a stunning contemporary home.

Clad in Siberian Pine, and affectionately nicknamed 'The Pringle' due to the shape of its roof, The Velodrome was the first Olympic venue to be completed, and it came in on time, and on budget too! Built by ISG Ltd, who were responsible for the refurbishment of the Manchester Velodrome, and designed by Hopkins Architects, with the help of cycling legend, Sir Chris Hoy, it cost just £94 million
to build. Again, Naylor Lintels feature heavily in this building and were supplied to Bromley based Brickwork Contractor R.I Works Ltd.
Leeds Arena

The new Leeds Arena was a £60m project by Leeds Council to create a striking new stadium, which has been crowned with a 7,500sq m Sika Sarnafil single ply roofing system, installed by experienced contractor Lakesmere.
The fact that Sika Sarnafil was the first roofing manufacturer to be BIM
ready played a huge part in the specification, and in turn improved the ability to review designs and rationalise ideas, whilst cost saving using BIM was highlighted through material specifications and design coordination.

Refurbishment of the walkways was required as part of a wider upgrade programme delivered by main contractor, Thomas Sinden. The existing asphalt covering had been damaged and the resulting water ingress was not only causing leaks into the properties below but was also compromising the building fabric with signs of damp in the external walls.
The project had to be carried out while the apartments remained occupied so it required a solution that could be installed quickly with minimum disruption to residents and excellent performance over an extended service life.

Working with both John Pawson architects and the contractor Willmott Dixon, Dolphin advised on the most fitting washroom design for the renovated building. The Dolphin Alavo was a perfect match for the Museum’s innovative space, given its ability to effortlessly blend style and usability.

Construction is underway on a new waterpark and leisure centre in the heart of Coventry City Centre - The Wave.
The new building has been designed by international architects FaulknerBrowns.
The Genesis NTC Heavy Duty Aluminium Tile-In Nosing has been selected by the contractors as it offers a cost effective alternative to ceramic treads. The PVC insert on the tread has been designed to provide additional slip resistance which is ideal for the waterpark. The NTC nosing meets DDA Guidelines and Building regulations.
Barking Central Development, London

The Barking Central Development project in the Thames Gateway used Howe Green’s 7500 Series access panels to cover vital building services on a colonnade walkway.
The durable 7500 Series covers were used to provide access to building services beneath the walkway. The covers are corrosion and weather resistant, a crucial element given their outdoor location.
Specialist contractors DMC Group inlaid the surface of the covers with chequered tiling to follow the pattern of the rest of the walkway and to result in an excellent aesthetic finish.

With a project value of approximately £16m, this project required a highly sensitive design solution to address a complicated urban context involving 28 neighbouring residential and commercial properties. The transformation visioned by PKS Architects, and developed by main contractor Knight Harwood, involved converting some of the buildings into high-quality apartments and high-specification offices using Kawneer’s solutions. The task was immense and involved six neighbouring commercial properties. The goal was achieved using multiple high-performance Kawneer products.
Altro integrated package brings feel-good factor to flagship spinal injury centre

An integrated package of Altro floors, walls and ceilings have been installed in a brand new flagship Spinal Injury Centre in Dorset, run by disability charity Livability, creating a homely, design-led unit with a high level of aesthetic appeal.
Livability Holton Lee has recently undergone a total refurbishment, carried out by main contractor Stepnell Ltd, transforming the existing care home into a well-being discovery centre and purpose-built Spinal Injury Centre.
Wentworth Garden Centre case study

When designing the new venue for Wentworth Garden Centre, proprietor David Airey sought to create a relaxed, lived-in feel for The Bothy, opting for Amtico Signature LVT for its noise-reducing qualities over ceramic tiles. Influenced by Victorian glasshouse-style flooring, David was introduced to Amtico’s in-house design team, by flooring contractor Contract Floors (Sheffield) Ltd, to develop his ideas into a timeless, high-end scheme featuring four patterns from the Designers’ Choice collection.

Aspen worked closely with the contractor for the design, supply and fit of an effective drainage system for their new production facility in central Scotland. The bespoke system was designed to boost the hygienic performance of the entire factory and to prevent the cross contamination of products. Careful attention was paid to the infrastructure of this facility and drainage of the waste.

F. Ball smoothing underlayment and adhesives have played starring roles in the installation of floorcoverings as part of the major refurbishment and extension of one of Scotland’s busiest theatres, Eden Court at Inverness.
Flooring contractor Jack Carmichael (Flooring) Ltd of Elgin, were responsible for the installation of floorcoverings throughout the project. This involved a basement cinema, the main 850 seat auditorium, a second 250 seat theatre, a bar and restaurant, box office, foyer bar and dance studio and associated dressing rooms and toilets...

Designed by The Cast Iron Air Brick Company, this stunning grille was transformed from a concept to "a work of art" by North Devon based, pattern maker, Peter Hoole in 2010 and is now cast in West Midlands.
With over 2000 sold, its fast becoming "the" conservation vent for listed and period properties and is now available with a 5" diameter(125mm) spigot as well as the original 4" diameter (100mm).
Supplied in traditional black or primed for contractors to colour co-ordinate to owners requirements on site.
New metal windows for Norwich Town Hall

Clement have now completed their third phase of works at Norwich City Hall, an Art Deco building completed in 1938 and designed by architects Charles Holloway James and Stephen Rowland Pierce.
Clement replaced the original steel windows in this listed property with new Clement W20 windows, improving energy efficiency and security whilst retaining the character of this wonderful landmark building.
Morgan Sindall, the main contractors on the project, have awarded Clement a Perfect Delivery Certificate for the works carried out.

We worked firstly with The Manser Practice to develop a floor that was within budget and also Bryden Wood Architects on the specification and subfloors. Henry Construction are the main contractors and we are now working with them to ensure a successful fit out and wood floor installation. Situated in a location close to High Street, Stratford and Three Mills Island, Strand East will feature a variety of new homes and workspaces.
Forming a triangle south of High Street, The Strand East will be a landmark development for an industrial heritage.
