Their state-of-the-art Rainbow Centre is fully geared up to meet the needs of their young patients and their families in a child-friendly environment and are dementia friendly across the whole site.This project was a conversion of the first floor office space to form a 24 bed ward at this busy London Hospital.The client chose Dfendoors in American White Oak and Peppermint to create a really effective contrasting finish.This was cleverly matched with the Dfend wall protection products.

Onyx Apartments is an 11-storey building located on the Regent’s Canal banks, offering 117 bespoke homes. The development was designed as a modern, elegant and professional living environment. Comfort and safety were top priorities in bringing this project to life and Reynaers products were used to realise those aims. CS 86 ‘High Insulated’ aluminium window system offers an energy-efficient option, and CP 155 ‘Lift and Slide’ aluminium door system creates maximum glazed areas while also maintaining comfort. Onyx Apartments is a great example of combining elements of luxury and practicality, bringing a fresh perspective to the area.

Leidsche Rijn Center is a mixed development in Utrecht, Holland and is being constructed on top of and around the Leidsche Rijn tunnel. Monolab Architects were seeking a modern folding door design for one of the buildings whose elevation featured a repeating vehicle motif formed from powder coated sheets with a pattern of 3mm diameter holes to achieve the desired effect. The design also featured matching transom and side panels and complemented the surrounding structure. Bolton Gate were specified to produce this door and assisted their local agents with the installation.

Profile 22’s award winning optima suite of casement and Tilt and Turn Windows along with matching PVCU doors were specified in the refurbishment of two tower blocks in Walsall, West Midlands. The windows are designed to deliver increased insulation and weather protection, which makes them the perfect choice for high-rise, exposed locations. Increasing energy efficiency was one of the key drivers of the refurbishment. They are capable of achieving WER of A++ and U-values of 0.8 W/m2K. Indicative performance measures are 600Pa for air permeability, 600Pa for water tightness and 2400Pa for wind resistance.

Able Canopies were commissioned by Bouygues (UK) Ltd to produce five bespoke canopies at Oaklands School in Tower Hamlets, London. These canopy installations were part of a major Building Schools for Future (BSF) project managed by Bouygues (UK) Ltd to refurbish parts of the school and construct a new building at the site. The canopies were crucial to bringing the whole look and feel of the refurbished site together and so communication, teamwork and painstaking attention to detail were vitally important to ensure a successful installation.

Planet used p100 demountable double-glazed screens for all the classroom frontages and set black laminated timber classroom doors, and for the offices, 30-minuet fire-rated glass doors into our white aluminium slimline door frames. P20 single-glazed demountable partitioning features in the library and sixth form, which includes a gap between each panel of glass, an aesthetic feature to complement the internal atrium glazing. Eclipse sliding doors were used throughout. Planet's Architectural Glass' in-house design team worked with Aedas to make sure the angled atrium glass was in line with the design intent.

Glass Balustrade in Cornwall: The Stargazy Inn is a luxury restaurant with rooms in Port Isaac, Cornwall.Like many Cornish restaurants, the Stargazy Inn enjoys spectacular sea views and benefits from a terrace where guests and diners can make the most of the stunning location. The down side to having a sea view terrace in Cornwall, is that the wind can make al fresco dining uncomfortable. Cornwall is renowned for its prevailing westerly winds, even in the summer! The Stargazy Inn wanted to create a windbreak for their terrace so the space could be opened up for diners, but they didn’t want the fantastic view to be compromised. They came to Pure Vista for their frameless glass balustrade installation in Cornwall.The best windbreak solution when you have a view is glass balustrade. Glass balustrade in Cornwall in particular, is a popular choice since we enjoy incredible views from most of our coastal hotels and restaurants. Sowenna - the first of it's kind for Cornwall Partnership NHS FT - is a purpose-built child and adolescent mental health (CAMHS) unit, providing inpatient treatment for young people aged between 13 and 18 years. The project had huge local demand, with young people and their families previously having to travel out of county for vitally important care.Thoughtfully designed by Ryder Architecture, the unit focuses on non-institutional safety, wellbeing and recovery.

Discover the remarkable transformation of Draycott's Canal Side Cottages, a project that has breathed new life into six derelict 200-year-old cottages in Derbyshire. Led by the dedicated efforts of the Derbyshire and Sandiacre Canal Trust and local volunteers, this restoration project has not only created a stunning residential development but also a historical tourist attraction.Gowercroft products used:Chatsworth Sliding Sash WindowsMelbourne DoorsHardwick Casement WindowsRed GrandisOriginally built in the 1820s on the banks of the old Derby Canal, these cottages served as homes for mill workers and local families. However, by 1985, they had fallen into disrepair, on the verge of demolition. In 2017, the Derbyshire and Sandiacre Canal Trust stepped in to rescue the cottages as part of their ambitious plan to restore the disused canal and the surrounding area.With the vision of turning these cottages into a vibrant mixed-use complex, the Trust launched a £650k appeal. The goal was to create three 2-3 bedroom dwellings, a canal side café, commercial spaces for leisure companies, and a museum showcasing the canal's history and the lives of mill workers.ADDC Architects, renowned conservation experts, were entrusted with the task of designing the conversion. They skillfully worked around the intricate history of the original brick buildings, which had gone through multiple alterations and rebuilds in the 19th century. The architects aimed to preserve the unique character of the cottages while ensuring a functional layout suitable for their new purpose.The restoration process involved an incredible community effort, with local tradesmen, contractors, and volunteers coming together to bring the cottages back to life. The extensive work included clearing vegetation and debris, erecting scaffolding, reinforcing timbers, and salvaging original bricks and slates for rebuilding.One crucial aspect of the restoration was the installation of new timber windows. Gowercroft Joinery, a reputable local manufacturer with expertise in heritage and restoration projects, supplied the traditional Chatsworth sliding sash windows for the canal-facing elevations. These windows perfectly matched the original designs, featuring slim finger-jointed frames and Georgian styled glazing bars. At the rear, Hardwick casement windows were installed to maintain a utilitarian look consistent with the building's history.Crafted from solid Red Grandis hardwood, the windows offered both elegance and energy efficiency. The bespoke curved top casements faithfully reinstated, and Melbourne hardwood doors further enhanced the joinery and timber craftsmanship throughout the cottages.The restored Canal Cottages now stand as a symbol of the Trust's broader vision to revive the 13-mile canal and its surrounding areas. Once completed, the canal restoration will create a 25-mile cruising ring, connecting to thousands of miles of navigable waterways across the UK. It will provide opportunities for outdoor activities, such as angling, canoeing, and cycling while promoting wildlife conservation and improving the well-being of local residents.By being a part of this project, Gowercroft Joinery has not only contributed to the architectural heritage but also supported the revival of the Derby Canal, acting as a catalyst for regeneration in the city centre. The Canal Side Cottages showcase the perfect synergy between traditional craftsmanship and modern performance, ensuring years of comfort and enjoyment for all those who experience them.

When the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) were looking to move into their new Head Office, just off Princess Street in the heart of Edinburgh, Michael Laird Architects asked Planet Partitioning to put together a specification for the Category B fit-out of the existing building. Working closely with Souness & Boyne, Planet Partitioning used p100 frameless double glazing system throughout to create meeting rooms and offices with high acoustic performance, in a simple grey design. The eight-week job also involved installing minimal framework double glazed doors throughout the offices, to complement the p100 double glazed partitions.

In 2020, Hewlett Packard Enterprises relocated to The 210 Building, an inspiring office development in the heart of Winnersh Triangle. Working with architects, Perkins and Will, and BW Construction, Style was specified to create an extensive range of flexible space within the meeting rooms as well as a chic, collaborative working environment.Using a combination of 52dB Dorma Hüppe semi-automatic Variflex glass moveable walls, 55dB solid semi-automatic Variflex moveable walls and Style’s ingenious ‘working wall’ pivot panels, a supremely flexible and stylish training and meeting suite has been created. Hewlett Packard employees enjoy a contemporary environment with the freedom to rapidly change room configuration as often as required. City of London Freemens first opened in Brixton in 1854 for ‘the maintenance and the religious and virtuous education of orphans of Freemen of the City of London’. Paid for by the Corporation of London both boys and girls were enrolled from the outset making it the one of the oldest co-educational independent schools.In 1926 the school moved to Ashtead Park in Surrey. The Grade II* listed Main House at Ashtead Park had been the home of Sir Robert Howard, Chancellor of the Exchequer during the 17th century.In 2016 an ambitious development project was commenced, due to span the next decade. The modernisation of the Main House, now the Sixth Form Centre, involved a redesign of the building and the new layout required fire screens to ensure the building met with current Building Regulations. Clement Windows Group supplied the internal fire rated doors and screens at the top of the adjacent internal stairs which are access controlled and linked into the main fire control of the building.

Finborough School, an independent day and boarding school based in situated in the village of Great Finborough, near Stowmarket, Suffolk, has recently added a brand new Science and Art building to its complex, comprising of art rooms, a photography suite and five science laboratories, along with the refurbishment of the original science and art rooms into additional classrooms for senior and 6th form students.

The UK Atomic Energy Authority’s (UKAEA)’s new facility will provide additional capacity for the STEP research programme at the campus in Culham, Oxfordshire as scientists seek to demonstrate the ability to generate net energy from fusion.Planet’s western contracting team offered their services in the creation of the site’s meeting room and office facilities across all four floors of the building.For meeting and conference rooms requiring high acoustic privacy, our double glazed and frameless PURE100 partition system (Rw 47 dB) was coupled with IsoPro pivoting glazed doors. Some doors were finished with eye-catching UKAEA branded manifestation.Elevated half-height partition screens surrounding breakout areas comprised single glazed PURE20 (Rw 35 dB).Finally, Firestop Ei30 single glazed fire rated screens (Rw 39 dB) were installed to create a fire line on each floor between the building’s offices and the internal atrium.

Raybloc (X-ray Protection) Ltd is proud to present a case study highlighting our exceptional collaboration with Bronglais Hospital in Aberystwyth.Our partnership involved the manufacturing and supply of top-of-the-line radiation shielding solutions that included Frameless Operator Screens, lacquered veneer finish lead-lined doorsets, PVC encapsulated lead-lined doorsets with astragal meeting stiles, and a window door combination set. As well as these fixings, Raybloc also supplied and installed the lead-lined boards for lining the walls and ceilings to create a complete radiation protective barrier between the controlled areas and their surroundings.These cutting-edge products have not only prioritised patient and staff safety but have also significantly contributed to optimising workflow efficiency and creating a healing environment.

Planet Partitioning used p20 single glazed demounatble partitioning with a smoked laminate glass finish on optiwhite glass, then combined this carefully with low-iron glass to give the client the exact colour wanted. The requirement covered two floors and some of the partitioning formed a balustrade for the edge between them. Eclipse sliding doors ensured a highly premium, clean-like look and feel. Several doors were patch-hinged to address key deflection head requirements. As part of the package we also created a membrane ceiling across a recess area within the showroom, enhancing key illumination areas by softening the light.
