A recently completed 90,000 sq.ft office building at Prospero Ansty Park in Coventry is using bespoke designed and manufactured beam casings from the Pendock Linea building linings range, as part of the new structure’s full length glazed atrium.Manufactured from aluminium with a white PPC finish, the casings have a parabolic form and are used to conceal the atrium’s lateral structural supports to provide an aesthetic finish, which is in keeping with the building’s contemporary interior design. Pendock also installed the casings to ensure the final fit & finish met the high standards required.

Albion Court is an historic, well used thoroughfare which had deteriorated considerably and posed a health and safety risk to pedestrians.
Wakefield Council, in line with English Heritage conservation principals, uplifted and re-laid the 80 year old cobbles to help preserve the historic surface using UltraScape’s system.

The MRT project is a planned 3-line mass rapid transit system with a total of 101 stations. Klang Valley MRT is poised to be the backbone of the public transport system in Kuala Lumpur Malaysia and is expected to become operational in phases and save 280 million man hours annually in commuter travelling time. The roofs required engineered horizontal lifeline systems for workers to be kept safe while performing periodic maintenance tasks. These systems had to be robustly designed to arrest a worker’s fall and also protect the building envelope from damage in the event of a fall.

Over a many number of years, Saint-Gobain Ecophon has created acoustic suspended ceilings within countless Jaguar Land Rover dealerships throughout the UK.
The architect, SDA Design in Leeds, specifies Ecophon’s Focus Ds or Dg ceiling system for both its aesthetic and acoustic performance.
The concealed grid systems help to achieve the clean, crisp style of the interior’s look and feel, reflecting both the sleek lines of the vehicles and the sophistication of the brand.

The current Google HQ, with vast external floor space over several levels.
The decking is a bespoke solid section 230 x 30mm composite, commissioned for this site.
All fixings are hidden, giving a seamless look to the terraces, and clean lines. The main terrace areas are level and by using the DPH slope correction system, the wheelchair access ramps were easily achieved.
A clever feature; the BM Unit travels over the decking, hiding the steel rails below.
This enlarges the overall usable terrace space considerably, and gives uninterrupted views from the entire terrace.

London’s new Design Museum has been created within the shell of the original Commonwealth Institute, well known for its distinctive copper covered, hyperbolic parabolic roof.
With the emphasis on the display and teaching of design, the priority for designer John Pawson and Dutch architects OMA was equally about the building’s new reconfigured interiors and the design and performance of the products used. For example, the Museum’s galleries are arranged around an oak and marble lined atrium with floors covered in pale grey terrazzo while Troldtekt acoustic panels tie spaces together with a visually attractive textured surface.

As part of a £1.2m development of a new PE block, Selby High required a durable and robust washroom area to withstand both the wet and dry environments of the school toilets and shower facilities. They needed to provide privacy without compromising on the space to provide an adequate number of cubicles.
Fusion was selected for its contemporary, slim line fittings, with full height privacy doors, and ultra-strong metal frames that add rigidity to the cubicles. The design flexibility and colour choices meant that they could choose a bold yet sophisticated design that reflected their school colours.

In Line with Cambridge County Councils renewable Energy Development Programme. RES received consent to build the 13 turbine Wadlow Wind Farm.
The site is in a sensitive ecological and archaeological location. It therefore meant the crane hard standings had to be sympathetic to the local environment without compromising the minimum bearing capacity of 200kpa.
ABG Truckcell Porous Plastic Paving System was chosen. This was supported by a free draining sub base and seeded with an indigenous seed mix to blend with the local environment.
Due to the rapid installation, grassed appearance and load bearing abilities Truckcell ticked all the boxes.

The former Royal Mail owned building at 160 Old Street, London, utilises 'blue roof' SuDS attenuation and biodiverse roofs and/or composite decking, retrofitted on 16 out of 29 different roof zones across multiple levels.The ABG blueroof system was specified to slow surface water run-off during key extreme rainfall events, in line with planning consent requirements for the provision of SuDS. The roof level storm water attenuation system was deemed the most cost-effective solution for the restricted urban site and avoided the need for an expensive and carbon intensive basement attenuation tank.
Bolton Gate's Contour Shutters provide fire and security at Newcastle International Airport Duty-Free Area

When the Duty-Free Retail Area of the airport was recently refurbished, the design incorporated large sweeping curves on plan which also incorporated the shopfronts. The demise line of the shopfronts also entailed that they needed the facility to be closed off outside trading hours from a security point of view in addition to each unit being an individual fire compartment.
Bolton Gate’s Contour shutters were specified which operate laterally and coil into a box at one end - this innovative product can describe an infinite number of bends and curves whilst closing off openings up to 100 metres wide.
Bespoke drainage solutions for a high end spa and wellness retreat

Our customer required a solution where the floor drains and channels could withstand the variance of temperature in the spa, and support footfall from the public, whilst maintaining an luxurious appearance in line with the environment. Alongside the drains for the changing room showers, using a bespoke design, BLÜCHER created a circular channel to surround the ice fountain, and an arched channel in grade 304 stainless steel with an infill grating to accompany the experience showers. Our infill gratings were the perfect choice for this spa setting, allowing a flawless finish of the chosen floor type against the drainage, completing the aesthetic appeal of the room

Constructed in the early 80s by Arup Associates, 1 Finsbury Avenue has been carefully redeveloped as part of its evolution from single occupancy into a mixed-use offering.
Behind the grade 2 listed bronze façade, work included the re-establishment of pedestrian access through the ground floor to reconnect the building with Finsbury Avenue Square and the wider neighbourhood.
The bright, bold work of artist Morag Myerscough featured in this lower atrium echoes the lines of the façade.
To match the interior aesthetic, black anodised INTRAflow entrance matting was specified for both East and West entrances.

M Moser Associates, together with their joinery and solid surface manufacturer Interior Surface Specialists Ltd completed the interior fit our of Wipro Digitals new office in London in 2016.
The designer wanted clean lines and a fresh, streamlined look, which mirrored the companies highly creative, digital edge. They originally chose a high pressure laminate, but finally decided on KYDEX® thermoplastic as a more versatile and durable proposition. The combination of crisp white KYDEX® and quality birch plywood edge detailing provided a minimal yet sophisticated look for all of the purpose made workstations.
Plant Trellis – Green Park Station

Green Park Station provides access to the Jubilee, Piccadilly and Victoria Lines. The £60 million refurbishment to achieve step-free access included a copper canopy, a Portland stone entrance and a ramp from the ticket hall into the Park featuring green wall screening.
Lang+Fulton designed and supplied 300sqm of panels to clad the raked inner facade of both retaining walls and the tapered wall-heads, which would support the green wall planting. The panels were made to custom sizes from Terra-34 grating and fixed with varying lengths of bracket to accommodate the stepped areas in the walls.
SMARTPLY AIRTIGHT Plays An Active Role In Architect's Passive House

At an architect’s new timber frame home, high racking strength and airtightness were crucial in the internal lining specification. With the installation of 240 sheets of SMARTPLY AIRTIGHT (was VapAirTight), the house achieved an air change rate (n50) of 0.09 air changes per hour at 50Pa – six times better than recommended by the PassivHaus Institute. The stylish two-storey house incorporates a range of ecological materials and systems. But with large glazed areas and two cantilevers at the rear and side, the project required a structural panel that combined racking strength with exceptional airtightness – for which SMARTPLY AIRTIGHT proved ideal.

The award winning National Waterfront Museum required an access solution to provide quick, easy and safe access to concealed under floor mechanical and electrical equipment.
Howe Green’s 7500 Series floor access covers were purpose designed for installation throughout the museum. They run across the reception areas, displays and exhibits. Slim line aluminium show edges present clean and crisp geometry within the many different types of floor covering used throughout the building.
The access covers provide a heavy duty and tamper resistant, aesthetically pleasing access solution for the highly trafficked pedestrian area.
Hasbury Methodist Church - Koster Flooring Systems

Issues relating the vapour release through the existing concrete slab was discovered, with readings above 85% RH. Liquid gutter liner to metal gutter

This metal gutter was leaking in various places and several repairs had been undertaken over many years.
Liquasil’s liquid gutter lining system was specified because the SWT primer actively treats any rust that is present and prevents further rusting.
All joints and fixings are permanently sealed with Non-Sag Sealer.
Non-Sag Sealer is a thixotropic coating with 1400% elasticity that easily copes with thermal movement associated with metal gutters.
The final stage is the apply a single coat of Liquasil One along the entire length of the gutter, to provide a seamless, leak-free finish.
Sustainable community development made possible with Kinley

Extensive edging was required for the courtyards to delineate hard and soft landscapes. During a site visit, BAM asked us to also supply planters, benches, tiles and accessories for the terraces. This required a full supply and install package.
Two 80m walkways were lined with 1.2 x 0.6m Atria tiles. One walkway was built on top of extensive M&E pipework so a bespoke steel pipe cover system was needed to support the tiles.
Atria beige tiles were also used on four of the terraces to surround CorTen steel Planterline bespoke planters with inset iroko timber seating.

Easy Glass Max decking glass balustrade - Amsterdam tower rooftop

The A’DAM Tower is a well-known landmark in Amsterdam, the building rises to almost 100 metres and provides views over the whole city. Its renovation involved adding a glass balcony balustrade around the rooftop terrace.
Q-railing agreed the use of the Easy Glass Max system with architect OeverZaaijer Architecture (OZ). This high-grade glass balcony railing solution can cope with line loads in excess of 5 kN/m, with modern looks and maximum transparency.
OZ were immediately convinced that Easy Glass Max was a perfect fit. In total, 110 metres of railing were installed.
Liverpool waterfront apartments combine hard landscape with a softer, natural living wall option

Finished in exquisite mother of pearl mosaics from Siminetti in "biscotti" to provide a wealth of colour and movement, an eye catching feature is created.The brief from our private client was to incorporate the existing WC and shower facility discreetly. A full wall of back painted glass was designed and installed to create beautifully clean lines and a seamless appearance.

United Anodisers provided 1000 plus m² of UnApol Anodised panels to facilitate the refurbishment of this prestigious building.

We designed and installed the new male and female washrooms at the iconic Art Deco Apollo Victoria Theatre in London. Our Aria 19mm laminate faced toilet cubicles, specified in a warm neutral shade and finished with designer d line stainless steel locks and a bespoke powder-coated channel headrail, provide the ideal balance of form and function.
For the vanity units, which feature integral towel drops, we manufactured bespoke units using Hanex, a high performance premium acrylic solid surface material, which can be cut, shaped and moulded to any shape.

The new Faculty of Arts building at University of Warwick designed by Feilden Clegg Bradley Studios brings the departments of the Arts and Humanities faculties under a single roof for the first time. The light-filled, timber-lined space is formed around and imposing internal staircase clad in Junckers’ solid ash flooring.The stair rises from a base of amphitheatre seating andrises through the building connecting teaching, social learning, public exhibition, and departmental spaces throughout which all branch off the central staircase. Entirely clad in Junckers’ solid ash, the central stair forms the main route through the building’s open, inviting, and flexible spaces. “The stair provides a space for daily informal meeting as well as a place for events and occasions such as documentary filming, graduation photographs and whole faculty celebrations. The use of natural timber, combined with natural light brings a warmth and a sense of timelessness to the space.”David Harris, Associate, Feilden Clegg Bradley StudiosJunckers’ solid ash has excellent strength properties and makes a hard-wearing, long-lasting floor. Often used in contemporary interiors, ash flooring adds natural warmth and character which can provide a good balance to clean lines and hard surfaces. The unique grain structure of ash makes it a characterful floor, similar in pattern to oak but with its own distinct colour tones. Lightweight but very strong mounting profileCHALLENGEStraight lines, maximum light and a unique, remarkable design. This is how independent architect Lieze Vandael saw her own home. Due to the numerous voids and imposing windows up to 9 meters high, a traditional construction method was certainly not an option. A suitable alternative had to be found. Moreover, Lieze Vandael wanted to see the elegant, minimalist architectural style with straight lines envelop the building: a roof and façade finish in the same material - preferably timber - and moreover, seamlessly blending into each other. To have the building completely wrapped in wood. Definitely a real challenge! A neat and watertight connection between roof and façade is not an easy job at all. Besides, timber is never completely waterproof. So, the challenge for Lieze Vandael was to combine the roof and the façade into one uniform surface, ensuring a perfectly watertight roof.SOLUTIONArchitect Vandael wanted to step away from the traditional lightframe wood structure, and opted for an alternative mass timber construction: a load-bearing construction formed from tongue and groove stacked solid wood beams. After all, this type of construction creates a lot of possibilities and is, besides, a more durable and ecological solution. For the exterior finish of the building the architect chose thermowood Ayous, a knot-free, clear-grade exotic hardwood providing excellent durability. The façade was finished with thermowood in a traditional way. Finishing the roof, however, was a more complex task. Cladding a roof with timber, particularly a highly sloped roof poses a substantial risk. How to achieve a watertight roof?
