Lazenby were asked to manufacture 80 completely bespoke pre cast concrete sinks for a new build office block in Kings Cross.The sinks were used in the male and female washrooms throughout all floors of the building. The sizes ranged from a 1900mm double vanity through to a 4 metre long, quintuple sink unit.All the units were cast with tap holes and a cut out for an undermounted bin chute. The joints were carefully placed to run through the cut outs to help make them as discreet as possible.The clients were looking to create a statement piece and so Lazenby created a bespoke blue colour that matched their vision. Multiple samples were created in a variety of shades before the final colour was selected.The durability and flexibility of concrete make it the perfect solution for busy washroom environments.

A large number of Decimetric modular stainless steel sinks, from GEC Anderson, were specified for the Environmental Science Laboratory at The University of Liverpools new Central Teaching Laboratories (CTL) for the Faculty of Science and Engineering. The specification called for a high performance and durable solution that was easy to maintain.Decimetric sinks provide a flexible and versatile framework of sizes in 100mm x 100mm increments so as to enable versatility and easy specification. This particular project required large double sink bowls (400 x 400 x 250m deep) set in 1400 x 600mm tops. Each sink was fitted with GEC Anderson V220 Sand Traps to collect solids and to prevent blockages.The bulk of the sinktops were installed on the first floor Environmental Science Laboratory situated in the East Wing. They run the full length of the windowed wall and provide washing facilities for 170 individual work stations.The client demanded high specification of internal fittings and a high concentration of laboratory fittings which would endure heavy usage during their life time. Hard wearing and highly functional, the professional grade brushed satin stainless steel tops provide a long life with very low maintenance. Torsten Bauszus from ADP LLP Architects said, GECA were chosen for their ability to provide modular, professional grade stainless steel tops with no joints at the sink which will make them very easy to clean and maintain.

No kitchen is ever complete without the sink and tap, and on a high-end project such as The Atelier in London, it was important that the sinks, just as every area of the design, were of the highest specification. Hopkins Architects, who worked on the project on behalf of house builder Regal-London, chose the Abode R15 stainless steel sink to achieve the brief. With the manufacturer’s Althia designer brassware being the perfect match, this sink and tap pairing were supplied for use across all of the 43 boutique apartments in West Kensington.

Abode delivered a combined sink and tap offering to high-end house builder Berkeley Group, for its Edenbrook Village development in Hampshire. The challenge for Abode was to supply a complimentary sink and tap offering to work alongside the specified German contemporary kitchens from Leicht. Exceeding at the challenge, Abode took one of its stand-out designer taps, New Media in four finishes and coupled them with the extremely versatile R15 Matrix stainless steel one-and-a-half bowl sink, providing solutions that excelled in form and function.

Made-to-measure brushed satin stainless steel sinks and worktops, from GEC Anderson, have been installed in the breathing apparatus rooms, kit cleaning rooms and kitchens of the new Winchester Fire Station.The station relocated from its home of 74 years at North Walls to its new state-of-art facility inEaston Lane, Winnall,Winchester. The new five-bay fire station is operationally and strategically located on the outskirts of the city on a major access route, close to the M3. The new facility can accommodate 70-plus personnel and provides a continuously crewed facility as opposed to the previous just day-crewed arrangement, thus providing faster emergency cover over a greater area.Freestanding worktops, totalling more than 10 metres, were installed in the breathing apparatus (BA) room and kit cleaning area of the fire station. Industrial sized sinks were included to provide an effective washing facility for the fire crews specialist equipment. Sarah Collins, architect for Hampshire County Councils Property Services Department said, The specialised sinks were chosen for their ability to cope with an environment of high usage. We wanted a material that was robust enough to take the everyday knocks and last for the lifetime of the building. GEC Anderson sinks certainly met this requirement and are performing extremely well.

Delivering where suppliers before them had been unable to, Abode is supplying the versatile R15 Matrix stainless steel sink, coupled with Pico and Althia brassware to Avant Homes developments until at least July 2021. With ongoing and planned developments on over 50 sites, all of which will feature design-led Abode kitchen solutions. An ideal solution for creating a high-end and minimal look, the design of the Matrix R15 stainless sink means it can be installed into any surface, including laminate, enabling the developer to create an undermount look without the expense of solid surface.

PROJECTWith the UK market for high specification homes in desirable locations continuing to grow this year, Abode was the natural choice to supply the prestigious Limsi Grove Cala Homes development in Hertford. Designed to cater for the executive market, 41 exceptional 3,4 and 5 bedroomed detached family homes have been meticulously designed to complement a conservation area and provide the best in town and country living, offering modernity and low maintenance. With properties on the market at £834,950-£1,359,950, choosing the best suppliers was key.  PRODUCTSTwo styles of undermounted sinks from Abode’s classic R50 stainless steel range were selected for installation with solid surfaces for a premium look and feel in the kitchen (AW5015) and utility room (AW5014). The classic Matrix R50 under-mount stainless steel sink collection offers a range of 0.7mm thick 18/10 grade steel bowls that will suit every kitchen environment and budget. Other options include the AW5015 large single bowl, and LH or RH 1.5 bowl sinks. All Abode stainless steel sinks are made from 304 grade stainless steel, which is highly durable with excellent corrosion resistance.  The kitchens in the Limsi Grove development were supplied with AW5015 large single bowl sinks which were combined with an Abode Pronteau Prothia 3 IN 1 hot water tap (PT1142) in Chrome or Matt Black. This ensured a practical working area for the end user with domestic hot, cold and 98° instant steaming hot water, making the tap fully compliant with Part G (3) of UK building regulations.  The Pronteau Prothia 3 IN 1 tap is available in two contemporary spout choices, swan neck and quad and 5 on trend colourways: Chrome, Matt Black, Urban Copper, Brushed Nickel and Brushed Brass, an option to satisfy all decors  Developers also benefit from the quick to install, Proboil.2X intelligent hot water boiler which can be fitted quickly and easily in the wet zone. Furthermore, Abode’s Proboil hot water products comply with all LVD/EMC/ROHS standards according to CE and UKCA. Both Proboil boiler models (2L or 4L) have WRAS certification to further reinforce the company’s ability to design and make safe and stylish tap solutions. In keeping with the stature of the project, our challenge was to supply a high-end flow restricted kitchen tap to work alongside the specified kitchens. We took one of our stand out design pieces, tall, simple yet majestic, the Linear style tap and developed the product to meet the flow restriction requirements. Over 600 of the flow restricted Linear style taps were installed into Newfoundland.

Dennis purchased the water tower at auction for £20,000 in 2015, and then project-managed all the building work himself to save money and realize Tonkin Liu’s architectural vision with the help of a local builder. Following the addition of a new CLT timber tower and careful infilling, the original water tank is now an open-plan kitchen living space complete with Pronteau Propure 4 IN 1 steaming hot water tap in ultra-fashionable Urban Copper finish. As the property needs to cater to a family of four, the additional breakfast room on the second floor, is also designed with a Pronteau Propure 4 IN 1, to ensure the height of convenience, design continuity and eco luxury in the modern home and living space.”  The 160 sqm Water Tower project, is testament to the increasing demand and complexity in personalised building projects across the UK. As the trend for flexible kitchen living is a key focus for today’s multi-generational homes, homeowners want to make sustainable choices wherever possible. Freestanding sink units for the ceramics studio comprising Decimetric sink drainer combinations complete with stainless steel frame and front valance. Sink bowls are fully integrated. Drainers were included to one side and each unit has an integral upstand. Legs have adjustable feet to facilitate levelling.V55 Gypsum Separators are mounted below each sink to prevent blockage of the drainage system by solid waste associated with working in clay.All units were produced in EN 1.4301 grade brushed satin stainless steel.

Stainless steel worktops with integrated back and side upstands (edge 10) were specified in this smart residential apartment in the City of London.The hob run and sink run oppose one another in a galley arrangement. The front edges are plain (edge 7) and the sinks include a ‘wet zone’ provided by the fully integrated sink and a half with drainer.
