Window Sill
Description

Cast stone window sill to suit one or two-brick course heights in a normal cavity-wall situation. They are available to suit British Standard brick openings. Bespoke sizes are also available, consult manufacturer for details.

Material:

- Haddonstone (Semi-dry cast limestone):

High quality semi-dry cast stone, consisting of over 50% limestone aggregate. With a surface texture similar to Portland Stone, Haddonstone is regularly used alongside or as an alternative to natural stone.

- TecLite (fibre-reinforced):

TecLite designs are manufactured using Glass Reinforced Concrete (GRC)/ Glass Fibre Reinforced Concrete (GFRC) material, making them suitable for retro-fit and plant-on applications.

- TecStone (wet-cast limestone):

Haddonstone also manufactures products by a wet-cast process, called TecStone. This process gives a finish, once acid etched, much more akin to Coade stone and does not weather quickly. High specification stone incorporating reinforcement if required in structural situations as well as cast in fixings. Hand finishing is required to ensure a quality product.

Standard product features

Compressive cube strength after 28 days (minimum):

  • Haddonstone: >35 MPa.
  • TecLite: >45 MPa.
  • TecStone: >45 MPa.

Both materials exceed the requirements of the United Kingdom Cast Stone Association (UKCSA) specification and comply with the requirements of BS 1217, BS 5642-2+ A1 and BS EN 13198.

Haddonstone:

  • Material density: 2150 kg/m³.
  • Compressive strength: Minimum compressive cube strength at 28 days is >35 N/mm² (MPa).
  • Aggregate size: 0–3 mm continuously graded.
  • Finish: Ex-Mould (no finishing required).
  • Freeze/ thaw resistance: Complies with UKCSA Standards so products deemed freeze/ thaw resistant.
  • Handling reinforcement: Where appropriate units may contain one or more stainless steel, synthetic fibre or extruded basalt reinforcement bar (30 mm minimum cover).

TecLite:

  • Material density: 2000 kg/m³.
  • Compressive strength: Minimum compressive cube strength at 28 days is >45 N/mm² (MPa).
  • Aggregate: Grade 60 dry silica sand.
  • Finish: Light acid etched.
  • Fire rating: Non-flammable, non-combustible, does not give off toxic gases; reaction to fire: Euroclass A1.
  • Handling reinforcement: Glassfibre reinforcement.
  • Cast-in lifting sockets available: Not applicable.
  • Cast-in fixings available: Yes (on request) - stainless steel to BS EN 1090 and CE marked.
  • Tensile (pull-out) test (Results with M12 x 40 mm cast in bent end socket): Proof load 2 kN: Ultimate failure load: 17 kN.
  • Structural reinforcement available: No (not applicable to GRC).

TecStone:

  • Material density: 2350 kg/m³.
  • Compressive strength: Minimum compressive cube strength at 28 days is >45 N/mm² (MPa).
  • Aggregate size: 0–10 mm continuously graded.
  • Finish: Light acid etched.
  • Freeze/ thaw resistance: Complies with UKCSA Standards so products deemed freeze/ thaw resistant.
  • Handling reinforcement: Where appropriate units may contain one or more stainless steel, synthetic fibre or extruded basalt reinforcement bar (30 mm minimum cover).
