Description

Original and innovative, it consists of square and rectangular modules that are uniquely elegant thanks to ingenious folds that provide continuity of joints and make the jointing of these elements totally invisible. This guarantees a facade with a streamlined, structural design.

Mozaik is a rainscreen cassette system that is available in all finishes of 1 mm thick VMZINC and can be installed both vertically and horizontally. The maximum panel size is 2400 x 600 mm and panels can have a depth of 40, 60, 80 or 100 mm. Vertical and horizontal joints are 15 mm. Timber battens can be used to support the panels but metal rails are more commonly used (2 mm aluminium or 1.5 mm galvanized steel). Centre to centre spacing of the rails is typically 600 mm but can vary depending on the loading requirements of the facade in question.

Advantages:

  • Wide range of panel sizes and depths.
  • Concealed fastening.
  • All finishes available.
  • Finishing trim panels can be adjusted on-site.
  • Bespoke perforation possible.

VMZINC is not a painted product and therefore colour variations may occur. No colour matches are guaranteed, therefore zinc should be installed from the same roll or batch because of colour variations in manufacturing process.

Product Options

Finish:

- ANTHRA-ZINC:

  • Visible grain matches the colour of slate.
  • Produced through a phosphatation of mill finish natural zinc.
  • Acceptable tolerance of: Y =5 to 7.
  • Includes a thin organic coating with a tolerance of shininess of 6 to 10.

Due to the dark colour of ANTHRA-ZINC it should be carefully considered before using on non-rinsed surfaces such as protected facades and soffits.

- AZENGAR:

  • Engraved zinc giving a product with a matt, heterogeneous and light aspect.
  • Can be used in the same fashion as other VMZINC products for both roofs and facades and is available in PLUS coating.

- NATURAL-ZINC:

  • Also known as mill finish or bright. Has a shiny metallic appearance when new and develops a patina naturally over time. In facade applications, it may take 10 years for the matt grey patina to form.
  • Due to the dark colour of ANTHRA-ZINC it should be carefully considered before using on non-rinsed surfaces such as protected facades and soffits.

- PIGMENTO:

  • Natural product that enables the texture of the QUARTZ-ZINC to still be seen whilst offering the designer the choice of colour to complement other elements of a building's facade or roof.
  • Colouration is achieved with a special pigmento layer that enhances the qualities of the zinc without presenting a block colour. Does not contain chromate.
  • Tested to EN 13523-10:2010 for UV-humidity and EN 15523:2001 for colour stability and requires minimum maintenance.

- QUARTZ-ZINC:

  • Appearance and texture that does not change over time.
  • When scratched, will self-heal.
  • Grey tones designed to blend well with existing construction materials.
  • Produced through a phosphatation of mill finish natural zinc.
  • Acceptable tolerance of QUARTZ-ZINC, Y = 22 to 25. Darkness of the pre-weathered zinc is measured electronically using a Y figure where 0 is black and 100 is white.
