Timonox Upgrade Basecoat

A water-based, high build coating, which is formulated for use on timber based substrates, and provides a thick insulating char layer in the event of a fire.

Crown Trade Timonox Upgrade Basecoat – also used to upgrade the fire classification of combustible substrates and previously painted (multi layer) non combustible substrates.

A durable finish is provided by over-coatings with suitable fire tested Crown Trade Timonox finishes only.

  • Pigment: Titanium dioxide and extenders.
  • Binder: Vinyl copolymer.
  • Solvent: Water.

Drying time:

Recoatable after six hours under normal drying conditions.

Spreading rate:

Up to 2.5* m²/ litre on smooth surfaces.

Wet film thickness:

400* micrometres at 2.5 m²/ litre.

Dry film thickness:

200* micrometres at 2.5 m²/ litre.

* These figures correspond to those quoted in Fire Test Reports and show the minimum film build required.

VOC Content:

EU limit value for this product (cat A/i): 140 g/L (2010). This product contains maximum 2 g/L VOC.
