Brickwork soffits and suspended masonry details can be incorporated into the full range of Wincro WSC masonry support systems. To suit special masonry details, two types of systems are offered, hanger tie and stitching rod.
Hanger tie:
- Brickwork soffits can be created by suspending a soldier course of brickwork from a stainless steel hanger system achieved by inserting a combination of Wincro hanger wall ties and dowel pins into pre-drilled solid bricks, or inserting grouted/ resin-fixed stitching rods into cored bricks.
- These hanger ties fix into Wincro C36 channel, which is welded to the underside of a Wincro WSC brick support angle to create the suspended masonry detail.
- Ties can be adjusted along the channel to suit the necessary perp joints.
- Soffit cleats can also be incorporated to carry the masonry detail.
Stitching rod:
- Another method of creating a suspended soldier course of brickwork uses stainless steel stirrups hung vertically from the masonry support angle.
- The stirrups fit over the angle (typically at 225 mm centres) and are used in conjunction with stainless steel stitching rods, spanning between stirrups and fed into the cored bricks.
- Cores are filled with mortar, creating an invisible lock.
