A pre-finished engineered real wood veneer wallcovering which is applied directly to plasterboard and/or suitable for all interior furniture applications.

Manufactured using a unique patented five ply composition which offers outstanding stability, flexibility and ease of handling coupled with an extensive variety of domestic, exotic and reconstituted wood veneer species.

Offers greater impact resistance compared with phenolic backed veneer due to the use of part aluminium construction which also acts as a moisture barrier and ensure zero adhesive or moisture 'bleed through'. Supplied pre-finished and does not require on-site preparation.

Unique patented five ply design includes:

  • Two layers of polyurethane lacquer.
  • Natural Veneer.
  • Interlayer paper.
  • Aluminium foil.
  • Bottom layer paper.

The following products are recommended for use with SanFoot®:

- Adhesive (from Zinsser Co. Inc):

  • SureGrip® 134 clay based strippable wallcovering adhesive.

- Acrylic primers (from Zinsser Co. Inc):

  • Bulls eye 1-2-3 primer sealer – Recommended over wood composite board. Over painted surfaces or where primer needs to be tinted.
  • Perma white interior primer – Over new or clean drywall or where mould and mildew is a concern.
  • Gardz high performance sealer (best) – Use over damaged drywall, loose paint or chalky surfaces.

- Acrylic primers (from Roman Decorating Products):

  • Pro-935 (R 35) – For use over new or clean drywall.
  • Pro-977 (Ultra Primer) – For use over drywall or plaster walls showing loose paint or chalky surfaces.

Product Options

Sheet sizes are nominal. Actual sheet sizes could vary but the working size is as stated.

A wide variety of veneers are available – consult manufacturer's literature below for further details.

How a log is sliced will affect the appearance of the veneer face. SanFoot® is manufactured using one of four methods; however other slicing methods may be used for custom effects and appearances, consult with manufacturer for exact details.

  • Flat cut (F.C.): A variegated figure typified by straight grain mixed with swirls and cathedrals. Also known as plain slicing.
  • Quarter cut (Q.C.): A consistent straight grain with parallel ribbon-like figure.
  • Rift cut: A straight grain effect similar to true quarter cut veneer most commonly used when slicing varieties of Oaks.
  • Rotary cut: A bold, sometimes wild, variegated figure. Also known as half round cut.

Veneer/ sheet matching:

The appearance of SanFoot® wallcovering is largely determined by how the veneer is sliced and then matched to form a full sheet. Book-matched and sequenced styles are available. End matched and sequenced is required when non-standard lengths are specified.

  • Book matched: Consecutive leafs of a veneer flitch have similar grain and figure. In book matching alternative leafs are turned like pages of a book, the vertical edges are then glued to make a 'face'.
  • End matched: This offers the greatest possibility to achieve continuity of colour and figure. Sheets are installed sequentially with the first sheet in the lower left quadrant and the second sheet rotated 180° to joined at the top of the first sheet.
  • Sequence: These are sets of sheets manufactured from the same veneer flitch and sequentially numbered.
