Description

A multilayer product designed for improved handling and processability by allowing laminators to produce glass laminates with enhanced acoustical properties compared to standard polyvinyl butyral (PVB) alternatives.


 It offers all the traditional benefits of laminated glass, such as improved safety, enhanced security, durability and acoustic properties, whilst also providing protection from UV radiation (UVA and UVB) by blocking over 99% of UV transmittance, helping to reduce fading of the contents and interiors of a building. Saflex® Acoustic, a tri-layer PVB interlayer targets sounds in the 1000–4000 Hz range (an area sensitive in human hearing) for superior sound damping in laminated safety glass. Saflex® PVB interlayers have been awarded the Gold level Material Health Certificate from the Cradle to Cradle Products Innovation Institute. Cradle to Cradle Certified™ is the global, science-based standard for products that are safe, circular, and responsibly made.


Features and benefits:

  • Interlayer is treated to help protect surfaces from burglary, storms and UV damage.
  • As a coextruded product, Saflex Acoustic has all the advanced acoustic benefits of an acoustic PVB, with similar process parameters than standard Saflex Clear products. Reduced handling time combined with improved lamination yield will help glass laminators stay more competitive in the fast-growing acoustic LAG market.
