Application

Suitable:

  • For bedding and fronting single glass into primed steel and timber frames which will subsequently be painted.
  • For internal putty fronting, for example in the refurbishment of steel frames.
  • For use in schools and other environments where the speed of set is essential.


Description

A two-part setting glazing compound/ putty for bedding and fronting single glass into primed steel and timber frames which will subsequently be painted, reduces the amount of time required by half relative to single component putty before painting.

  • A two-part, high quality hand-applied glazing compound.
  • Designed to be overpainted.
  • Forms a skin in less than half the time required by conventional putties.
  • Manufactured using traditional methods.

  • Can be used on primed timber or steel.
  • Good long term performance.
  • 'Type 1' setting compound as defined in BS 6262 – Table 5.
  • Good mould resistance.
  • Can cause staining of porous surfaces if not previously sealed.


Painting:

  • For painting as soon as the putty has formed a skin firm enough.
  • Apply the first coat within 4-5 days. The final coat should be applied within 28 days.

Sets initially by loss of volatile components and reaction with hardener followed by reaction with oxygen in the air in the presence of moisture.

+5 to +30°C.

Service temperature range

-20 to +70°C.
