Open state fire barrier to prevent the spread of fire for up to 120 minutes, for cavity widths of 51–300 mm.
Fixed within horizontal cavities 51–300 mm wide to allow a ventilation and drainage gap.
Open state cavity barrier used to prevent the spread of fire for up to 120 minutes. It is fixed back to the substrate, forming the ventilation gap between the barrier and inside face of the outer leaf of the wall. Pigtail screws are then inserted into the outer face to maintain the air gap once the outer leaf is installed.
For smaller cavities of up to 110 mm wide, it can be directly fixed back to the inner substrate. For cavities ranging from 111–300 mm wide, the barrier is supported to the inner substrate using multipurpose brackets.
