Application

External roofing applications.

Description

Pavaroof Pitched roof sarking system for roofs pitched steeper than 18 degrees uses Pavatex DB 3.5 membrane or OSB as the air-tightness membrane, with Pavatex Pavaflex natural wood fibre or Pavatextil P recycled fabric, friction fitted between the rafters. Isolair Multi (also wood fibre) is installed above the rafters and mechanically fixed.

Features and benefits:

  • Sustainable wood fibre boards are made from waste wood that is collected from various sawmills, heated and then pressurized.
  • Good heat storage capacity.
  • Good acoustic and thermal insulation properties.

Boarding

-

Material

Wood fibre Isolair boards and Pavaflex insulation.

Guidance for specification option:

Isolair:

  • Can be used as a temporary roofing for up to 3 months.
  • Vapour permeable, but windproof and water-repellent.

Available in multiple thicknesses, consult manufacturer for details.

Pavaflex:

  • Adaptable to complex shapes.
  • Easy processing.
  • Outstanding insulating against thermal losses in winter and heat transmittance in the summer.

Available in multiple thicknesses, consult manufacturer for details.

Fasteners

Isolair: Mechanically fixed; Pavaflex: Friction fitted.

Membrane

-

Material

-

Manufacturer guidance

Breather membranes are not necessarily required over the Pavatex Isolair boards for roof pitches >18° due to the water resistivity of the Pavatex Isolair boards - BBA Cert 20/5770.

A breather membrane may be included if desired or if traditionally used as per local practices. The membrane should be directly over the boards i.e., under the counter and tile battens.

Counterbattens

-

Material

Timber.

Manufacturer guidance

Tiled or slated roofs with 50 x 25 mm tile batten: 25 mm minimum counter-batten height. To avoid splitting during driving the screw fixings, a 40 mm ±2 counter-batten height is suggested.

Vapour closed without tile batten (e.g. metal or synthetic membrane on ply): 50 mm counter-batten.

Fasteners

Pavatex by Soprema approved fasteners.

System accessories

Pavafix.

Guidance for specification option:

  • High adhesive strength, stable shape, cannot be overstretched.
  • Can be exposed to weather for up to 12 months.
