ME006 should be installed in accordance with ‘BS 5250: 2021 Management of moisture in buildings. Code of practice’. ME006 should be situated on the warm side of the insulation layer. The following assumes the installation of ME006 to an SFS framed wall installed between concrete floor slabs and columns.
Apply ME006 from the roll, allowing a 50 mm overlap at the top and bottom onto the soffit and floor slab. All horizontal and vertical overlaps should be a minimum 100 mm and sealed using ME355 FR Sealing Tape (Alu).
For sealing window and door interfaces, the ME006 should be turned and bonded into the reveal. The complete perimeter interface with the window (or door) should then be sealed using a compatible illbruck tape or membrane ensuring a minimum 20 mm bond to window frame and 50 mm overlap back onto the ME006.
ME006 FR AVCL is an aluminium foil faced glass fibre reinforced, air and vapour control membrane with a reaction to fire Class B-s1, d0 to EN 13501-1. ME006 FR AVCL is used on the interior side of lightweight steel and timber frame constructions to provide an air and vapour tight layer to control the passage of air and moisture.
ME006 FR AVCL is highly suited to construction projects designated as "relevant buildings" as defined in Approved Document B of the Building Regulations for England and Wales.
