Isoweld® 3000 Field Fixing System
Application

The roof build up shall be mechanically fastened into the substrate in a regular grid pattern as denoted by the wind load calculations, using specially coated metal stress plates and suitable fasteners.

Fastener installation shall use an SFS approved setting tool to ensure correct application. After rolling out the waterproof membrane, this will be heat induction welded to each of the metal plates and loaded by magnet hereafter.

Welding is to be undertaken with an Isoweld® 3000 induction machine with search, control and calibration function, which can be used in an upright working position. A separate hand induction-welding tool shall also be required for attachment to upstand and difficult to access corner areas. The system components shall be tested in accordance with European Assessment Document (EAD) 030351-00-0402 Systems of Mechanically Fastened Flexible Roof Waterproofing Sheets.

The number and dimensioning of the fastening elements shall follow the manufacturer's instructions. All contractors should be approved by the appropriate membrane and fastener manufacturer and operatives are required to undertake the required onsite training schedule.

Pull-out testing shall be undertaken by SFS Group Fastening Technology Ltd to determine the fastener design load and in the case of concrete substrates, the required pilot hole diameter required.

Description

A non-penetrating field fastening system for flat roofs. Isoweld® follows on from the tried-and-trusted isofast® and isotak® systems in offering another economical, totally secure and permanent method of fixing insulation material and membranes on flat roofs.

The system is ideal for approved and compatible PVC, TPO and EPDM membranes. The stress plates used to secure the insulation are welded to the membrane by induction heating, therefore creating a non-penetrating connection.

- Insulation attachment:

Product reference: Use appropriate SFS austenitic stainless steel fasteners of the required length combined with thermally broken sleeves with a minimum washer diameter of 75 mm.

- Membrane attachment:

Product Reference: A system specific coated metal stress plate combined with appropriate SFS austenitic stainless steel fasteners of the required length and compatible thermally broken sleeves.

Warranty:

Up to 25 years (period to be confirmed and agreed specific to the project). Warranty includes materials and weld to the appropriate, approved and compatible waterproof membrane.
