Intex™ 4-in-1 Masonry Support is a combined masonry support system combining four critical components into one easy-to-fit design. The product combines masonry support, cavity tray, wall ties, and an open state cavity barrier into a single easy-to-fit unit, giving a large number of benefits to all involved parties. The product seeks to address a key issue in modern masonry facades, regarding cavity congestion around concrete floor slabs.

Wall ties – general applications

Intex wall ties.

Guidance for specification option:

  • Stainless steel wall tie, clipped to the bracket of the ACS masonry support element and embedded into the brickwork mortar joint.
  • 2 mm thick by 19 mm wide by 125 mm long.

Manufacturer guidance

Available grades: 1.4301, 1.4307, 1.4401 or 1.4404 (304, 304 L, 316 or 316 L).

Insulation

Mineral wool insulation.

Guidance for specification option:

Minimum density of 60 kg/m³.

Cavity fire barriers

Open state cavity barrier.

Guidance for specification option:

  • Pre-assembled with stainless-steel rivets on the top and front of a stainless steel sloping tray.
  • Used in cavities with max. width of 350 mm.
  • Mineral wool insulation: 30 mm.
  • Intumescent strip: top and fron strips 4 mm thick, rear strip 6 mm thick.

Ancillary structural components

Bracketed angle supports.

Guidance for specification option:

  • Factory welded stainless-steel brackets. 3–6 mm thick.
  • Stainless steel angle jointed together with double sided and single sided butyl tapes. 3–6 mm thick.

Intext jointing piece.

Guidance for specification option:

  • L shaped unit made from stainless steel (grades 1.4301 or 1.4307).
  • Used for sealing the angle joints.
  • 0.5 mm thick by 125 mm wide.

Double-sided tape.

Guidance for specification option:

  • Black coloured, double sided butyl tape.
  • Used for bonding the angle joints.
  • 50 mm wide by 10 m long.

Single-sided tape.

Guidance for specification option:

  • White coloured single sided butyl tape.
  • Used for bonding the angle joints.
  • 100 mm wide by 20 m long.

Weep vent.

Guidance for specification option:

  • Stainless steel (grades 1.4301 or 1.4307).
  • Used to discharge water from the system.
  • 55 mm height.
