Application

ME011 Breather Membrane UV is permanently UV stable in partially open louvred facades with gaps up to 35 mm or for up to 6 months with full UV exposure. ME011 Breather Membrane UV is air tight and fully resistant to liquid water penetration. ME011 Breather Membrane UV is suitable for framed and sheathed walls, timber framed walls and volumetric buildings.

ME011 Breather Membrane UV is applied directly to sheathing boards or over thermal insulation. Ensure that the applicators obtain a detailed method statement from the manufacturer.

Description

ME011 is a special monolithic functional breather membrane covered with two layers of non-woven water-resilient polyester.

Features and benefits:

  • High range of in-service temperature resistance.
  • Highly vapour open.
  • Non-branded, plain black finish - particularly suitable for visible applications.
  • Airtight and weather tight.
  • Six months UV-resistance.

Can be used in conjunction with:

  • OT301, SP525 and SP925 adhesives - To bond the membrane to adjacent walls and floors to create a lasting air-tight and vapour-tight connection.
  • ME315 and ME316 tapes - To seal the membrane overlaps on non-porous or other suitable surfaces.

Manufacturer guidance

ME011 Breather Membrane UV is unfurled and applied directly from the log to the substrates. The membrane is secured with tape to the structure and overlapping seams to create a homogenous and continuous protection layer. Applications should start from the bottom of the building and work upwards overlapping subsequent horizontal and vertical layers by 100mm. Perimeters and overlapping's seams are sealed with illbruck ME315 Total Protection Tape or other tape specified by illbruck. Some details e.g. floor junction or solid walls may require the use of illbruck SP525 Polymer Hybrid Adhesive in addition to the ME315 Total Protection Tape.
