Application

R-EC:

  • IKO tanetech R-EC is used as a fully reinforced first waterproofing layer in the liquid waterproofing system.
  • With next-to-excellent flow properties, IKO tanetech R-EC also provides excellent adhesion to the most common roof substrates.

R-UV:

  • IKO tanetech R-UV is used as the second waterproofing layer in the liquid waterproofing system.
  • IKO tanetech R-UV has good resistance against UV degradation and thermal stability.

Description

The IKO tanetech R EC/UV liquid applied waterproofing system consists of a single component, two or three layer coating based upon PU with a glass fibre reinforcement. The reinforcement provides robustness and thermal stability, while the UV top coat provides excellent UV resistance and colour fastness. IKO tanetech R EC/UV brings excellent adhesion to most substrates, creating a fully bonded application that prevents water tracking between the waterproofing layers. The system is air moisture triggered and requires no extra catalyst to cure. IKO tanetech R EC is a single component liquid waterproofing base layer applied by a fleece roller or brush. It is supported by glass fibre reinforcement and fully bonded to a substrate when used in conjunction with a range of substrate primers. The IKO tanetech R UV top coat is applied by a fleece roller or brush to the cured IKO tanetech R EC base coat. This application ensures UV resistance, solar reflectively, and colour stability, which culminates in a long-term waterproofing solution. This system can be used on a variety of waterproofing applications, such as flat roofs and profiled metal sheet roofs in both new build and refurbishment projects.

Horizontal work

IKOpro Bonding Agent.

Guidance for specification option:

IKOpro Systems Bonding Agent (black) is a specially formulated primer. Enhancing the properties of self- adhesive bitumen roofing membranes, it promotes strong bonds even at temperatures as low as 5°C.

IKOpro Sprayfast MPP.

Guidance for specification option:

KOpro Sprayfast MPP (Black, Multipurpose Primer) is a

specially formulated high performance bonding primer.

It allows the speed of application of the bonding primer

to be five times faster than conventional bitumen primers,

promoting strong bonds at temperatures as low as

5°C. For self adhesive and torch applied bitumen membranes.

Air and vapour control layer

IKO Ultra S-A Air and Vapour Control Layer.

Guidance for specification option:

Self adhesive for combustible substrates

S-A VCL (Self-Adhesive) is a high performance vapour barrier for use in adhered IKO Polymeric systems. It is composed of a polyester reinforced aluminium core, coated with a rubber modified, self-adhesive bitumen coating. The membrane is protected on the underside with a release film backing and coated on the top surface with a fine mineral finish. A selvedge of 75mm width, protected with release film, provides a quick means of completing side laps.

IKO Ultra T-O Air and Vapour Control Layer.

Guidance for specification option:

Torch applied to non combustible substrates only

T-O VCL (Torch-on) is a high performance vapour control layer for use in adhered IKO Polymeric systems. It comprises an impervious aluminium core, reinforced with polyester and coated with a specially formulated quick melt SBS modified bitumen. The lower surface has a sacrificial film which rapidly melts during the torching operation.
