Application

Developed for the sealing of construction joints in reinforced concrete construction.
Can also be applied as a system component for Hydroswell BentoGuard Membrane. It seals against perched water as well as hydrostatic head.
To ensure a continuous “gasket” of the Hydroswell water bar joints should have a lateral (side by side) overlap of 100 mm with the ends pressed firmly together.
A minimum concrete coverage of 70 mm on any exposed side is required.
BentoStrip 2.0 can be applied both vertically and horizontally, but under no circumstances should it be used in expansion joints.

Description

Hydroswell BentoStrip 2.0 is a high-quality butyl rubber and sodium bentonite hydrophilic water bar for the sealing of construction joints in concrete.

BentoStrip 2.0 has high resistance to a wide range of chemicals. Final confirmation about compatibility under specific conditions can be obtained from the manufacturers technical department.

Due to shrinkage of the drying concrete small voids can appear in construction and cold joints, through which water can penetrate. In contact with water, Hydroswell BentoStrip 2.0 swells to seal these voids in the joint.

Able to resist hydrostatic pressures of up to 60 m of water column = 6 bar.
The durability and performance of the Hydroswell BentoStrip 2.0 will exceed the design life of the structure (bentonite is a natural product).
The highly elastic and plastic properties of will easily counterbalance the initial concrete shrinkage of the structure.
Will not dissolve in water and is non-polluting.
