Application

Homegrown Larch external timber cladding is ideal for projects seeking a traditional or rustic appearance, where natural knots and grain variations are appreciated. This sustainable softwood offers warm tones from light red-orange to deeper red-brown, creating character and charm in exterior designs. Kiln-dried for stability, it is a cost-effective, low-carbon choice for cladding applications. It is suitable for private, commercial and infrastructure projects, including:

  • Residential Housing - External walls, extensions, and renovations.
  • Commercial Buildings - Offices, retail spaces and showrooms.
  • Education Facilities - Schools and university buildings.
  • Public Sector - Libraries, community centres, and cultural spaces.

Homegrown Larch can also be used for Fencing and Screening, an excellent, durable timber for boundaries and privacy solutions.

Description

Homegrown Larch is a naturally durable softwood timber, offering warm tones that range from light red-orange to deeper red-brown. Its straight, fine grain and fair spread of knots create an elegant yet rustic appearance. British-grown boards provide a more traditional look with varying grain and a medium-to-high frequency of knots across each piece.

Kiln-dried for stability, Homegrown Larch is a cost-effective, low-carbon option for sustainable timber cladding projects. Left uncoated, it will weather gracefully to a silver-grey patina over time.

Features and benefits:

  • Sustainable Choice: Sourced from well-managed, certified UK forests with FSC-certified options available.
  • Natural Durability: Classified as Durability Class 3, Homegrown Larch is suitable for external timber cladding applications.
  • Distinctive Appearance: Warm natural colours and rustic character with knots for a traditional aesthetic.
  • Stable Performance: Moderately stable once dried and installed.
  • Low Environmental Impact: British-grown timber with a reduced carbon footprint.
