Application

The HSS PIB® C is suitable for internal and external applications.

Utilised across a wide range of sectors in the built environment, including: health, education, transport, and infrastructure, listed premises, places of assembly, offices and shops, factories and warehouses, heritage buildings. Note: it is a legal requirement in High Risk Buildings (HRBs).

Inside all PIBs must be an Emergency Response Pack (ERP) which includes important plans and information in A3 format to be used by the Fire & Rescue Service as referenced in Approved Document B June 2022 amendments and Fire Safety (England) 2022 Regulation 6.

Description

The High Security Premises Information Box™ (HSS PIB® C), generically known as a Secure Information Box (SIB), is designed to provide fast access for the Fire & Rescue Service to building plans and information. Now mandatory for high-rise residential buildings over 18m and new builds over 11m, in line with Fire Industry Association / National Fire Chiefs Council (FIA/NFCC) guidance, the HSS PIB C® is tested to the exacting standard STS 205 BR2 and third party certified through the Certisecure scheme, certificate no. CS5139.

For operational use, the PIB® was developed with firefighters to an exacting specification and is a recognised focal point in the event of an incident. The Premises Information Box® is not reliant on power, persons nor Wi-Fi. We’re proud that 98% of UK Fire & Rescue Services carry our GSP One Key® System, providing operational firefighters with seamless and secure access for over 20 years.
