Insulated, secret-fix, flat architectural wall cladding panel system.
Suitable for architectural wall cladding applications.
Formawall® is an insulated, secret-fix, flat architectural wall-cladding panel which is quick and easy to install for fast build times. Available in a range of sizes, shapes and colours and with extensive fabrication options, it offers design flexibility which enables architects to create unique and modern design solutions. Single, double and multi span configurations are available.
Features and benefits:
Fire performance:
Formawall® carries Grade EXT-B and EXT-A approval by the LPCB. Also fire resistance performance of up to four hours integrity and 15 mins insulation. These are attained by stitching the liner face at 250mm centres.
The internal surface of the panel complies with a Class B s2 d0 rating in accordance with EN 13501-1.
Water penetration:
The Trimapanel® system's joint is water-tight up to a pressure of 1050 Pa, when tested to BS EN 12865 ‘Hygrothermal performance of building components and building elements’
Air-tightness:
In accordance with Building Regulations Approved Document L2 (E&W) and Scotland (Technical Handbook Section 6 Energy) tests to EN BS 12114 shows the sealed panel of air leakage as low as 0.48 m³/h/m² at an applied pressure of 50 Pa.
A practical expectation for a finished building, with effective sealing at all junctions, would be 5-10 m³/h/m². However, enhanced detailing practises on large shed buildings can realise air leakage performance figures of less than 3 m³/h/m².
Thermal performance:
The panel construction offers highly consistent insulation performance, and the site formed junctions provide a practical and effective method of ensuring good thermal performance.
U-values:
Acoustic performance/ Sound reduction (SRI) weighted values:
Based on a 70 mm core, weighted SRI Rw: 28.9 dB, consult technical literature for further details.

Recyclability | All steel elements are recyclable, with ‘end of life’ assumptions for recovered steel and steel recycling being 89% of steel is recycled, 10% of steel reused with 1% loss . We would point out that our panels can be separated using current shredding technology and can be recovered or recycled. |
Recycled contentAs defined in clause 7.8 of BS EN ISO 14021 | Manufacturer guidanceThe concept of recycled content is a useful metric to stimulate economies of scale around recycling of materials which may otherwise be incinerated or land-filled. But this is not the case for steel. Steel has been recycled for over 150 years and the recycling process and infrastructure is efficient and economical without any added stimulus. Scrap steel is valuable, so wherever it can be recovered it is, and very little steel ever goes to waste.
Provided this is understood we can confirm for the financial year 19/20 Tata Steel Europe produced 10 million tonnes of crude steel, recycling 1.7million tonnes of steel scrap. This equates to a recycled content of 17%. A breakdown of the scrap by source shows that ~9% was internal pre consumer scrap. The remaining ~8% was externally sourced commercial scrap. |
