Fire Curtain - Vertical - Flameshield 8524 Max/S Vertical Active Fire and Smoke Curtain / Vertical Active Fire and Smoke Curtain Barrier - Tested to BS 8524-1 & BS 8524-2.

This automatic vertical fire and smoke curtain barrier from A1S, has 120 minutes integrity and 85 minutes radiation at 15 kW/m², available in an standard size range up to 10 000 x 10 000 mm. It has been tested to BS EN 1634-1 and BS EN 1634-3 in accordance with BS 8524-1.

The fire curtain is comprised of a carbon steel barrel and motor incorporating an attached fabric curtain. The barrel deflection conforms to the necessary British Standard BS 6323-5, the fabric can withstand temperatures in excess of 1000°C and the two section T-shape bottom rail allows smooth operation of the fire curtain. The fire barrier is powered by an internal 24 V d.c electric motor that has all of the applicable safety standards.

Fully compliance-tested and include fail-safe features enabling the fire curtain to operate, even if there’s a power failure. 

The Flameshield 8524 fire and smoke curtain is an excellent product if aesthetics of the building need to be maintained. The fire curtain's end plates, guides and head boxes can be finished with specialist RAL colours.

Egress switches, access switches, obstruction warnings, and heat and smoke alarms are fully tested to the ancillary equipment Annex H as stipulated by BS 8524-1.

All fire curtains are tested and approved by Warrington Fire Research Centre and Exova. Tests are fully compliant and in accordance with BS 8524-1 / BS EN 1634-1 for fire and radiation (radiation and tenability replaces the insulation zone) and BS EN 1634-3 for smoke containment. The construction and manufacture is in accordance with Warrington test WF 341175 (deflection), WF 347098 (smoke) WF 399170 (motor test) WF 399421 (surface spread of flame, BS EN 476-6 and BS EN 476-7).
