fermacell® Gypsum-Fibreboard

A dry-lining building board designed for internal finishing of walls, ceilings and floors, particularly where fire protection, sound insulation and moisture resistance are required. Wall Build Heights of up to 20 m are achievable; refer to fermacell® technical department for further details.

Features and benefits:

• fermacell® gypsum-fibreboard is a blend of recycled gypsum and recycled paper fibres.
• The two raw materials are mixed with water to form a homogeneous quilt, which is then compressed under high pressure, giving a strong dense board with multiple features and benefits.
• The resulting board is impact resistant and the simplest independent wall lining (IWL) detail with 12.5mm fermacell® giving a Severe Duty rating to BS 5234:pt2.
• The material has excellent screw-holding capability, with a board strength that allows dead loads of up to 50 kg to be fixed directly to the board without the need for additional pattressing or support bearers.
• Boards have a light textured surface and are pre-primed to receive paint decoration or other surface finishes.
• Where a painted finish is required, the boards should be finished with fermacell® Fine Surface Treatment (FST), which dries in 45 minutes ready to accept final finishing.
• Our products hold BBA, ETA and other third party accreditation, and details are available from James Hardie Building Products Ltd.
• Rainscreen Backer Board - 12.5 mm fermacell® is also suitable as a Rainscreen Backer board in External Wall constructions.
