Application

Comar 6 EFT can provide bespoke solutions, that exceed even the most stringent testing regimes. Also suitable for use on inclinded facades and roof glazing.

Description

Comar 6EFT is an insulated curtain wall system, suitable for all heights on new and refurbishment projects, including glazed roofing applications. It has four forms of construction in one system:

  • Comar 6EFT Curtain Walling: Enables the construction of sheer high-rise as well as sloped and inclined facades. Thermally efficient with standardized 50 mm profiles; custom-made profiles are available on request.
  • Comar 6EFT 2 sided SG: Enables vertical or horizontal aluminium sightlines; the structurally glazed side is achieved with a 20 mm EPDM joint seal or silicone sealant. Both vertical and horizontal options use standard 50 mm profiles. The framed sides use standard 50 mm profiles. A bespoke finish can be achieved through using a variety of cover caps.
  • Comar 6EFT 4 sided SG: Creates a façade with no visible aluminium sight lines; the structurally glazed sides are achieved with a 20 mm EPDM joint seal or silicone sealant. (See separate product link).
  • Comar 6EFT Concealed Vent: Enables opening vents to be inserted into the facade with no additional sightlines. Vents can be side or top hung and are performance tested.

All the systems use the same basic profiles, which integrate fully.


Incorporated components:

  • The Comar 6 EFT system can be used in conjunction with Comar 5 and 9 window system types and Comar 7 and 9 aluminium doors.

Variety of cover caps are available for this system. The slimmest sight line can be achieved using a 50 mm wide cap, which is double chamfered to provide a visible face of 16 mm. Cover caps have a typical edge radius of 1.5 mm for even distribution of the powder coating layer.

Comar 6EFT is a mullion drained system which meets the requirements of “ventilated and drained glazing system” as specified in BS 6262.

Comar 6EFT 4sided structural glazing creates cutting edge facades with no visible aluminium sightlines. Thermally efficient the external discrete sight-line is created with a 20 mm EPDM joint seal. This joint can also be made from silicon sealant.

Comar 6EFT 2sided SG.

Guidance for specification option:

Design flexibility increases with options for 2sided structural silicon glazing with vertical or horizontal sightlines. A bespoke finish can be achieved through using a variety of cover-caps.

Thermally efficient dependent on the selection of vertical or horizontal lines the structurally glazed side is achieved with a 20 mm EPDM joint seal. This joint can also be made with a silicon sealant. Both vertical and horizontal options use standard 50 mm profiles.

Comar 6EFT facetted.

Guidance for specification option:

Comar 6EFT Facetted allows the creation of external and internal curves as well as 90° corners. Facets or segments can be created from 0° with the unique option to create the curve internally or externally.

Top or side hung windows integrate directly into the curtain wall. Concealed vents have no exterior sight-line which means that when closed the façade maintains the same slim sight-lines.
