Description

Cold liquid-applied, warm roof system suitable for new build, refurbishment and green roof applications. It is compatible with most existing waterproofing products, making it suitable for use as an overlay system. The system is appropriate for both new build or refurbishment applications for cold, warm, and inverted roof constructions. The system can be used as exposed roof waterproofing or as a roof terrace when protected by hard landscaping as well as extensive and intensive green roof systems. The system can be used in zero falls applications in protected roof situations.

Bauder SA Bonding Primer.

Guidance for specification option:

Only for concrete decks. Used to seal substrate and improve adhesion.

Bauder Activator Primer.

Guidance for specification option:

A synthetic rubber resin-based material using a non-flammable solvent and propellant system. Bauder Activator-Primer has been specifically developed to provide the necessary preparation of substrates, insulations and underlayers prior to the installation of Self-Adhesive membranes.

Skirtings and vertical work

Guidance for specification option:

Upstands and details to be primed first.

  • Purpose: Relevant Bauder LiquiTEC Primer substrate primer to seal and prepare dry surfaces of a variety of common substrate materials prior to the application of receiving the new Bauder Cold Applied Liquid Waterproofing System to upstands and details only.


 The following primers must be used as required:

  • Bauder LiquiPRIME 1: For Timber, Plywood or OSB/3 or KLH, Asphalt, Exposed Bitumen, Bitumen Bleed.
  • Bauder LiquiPRIME 2: For Non-Porous Concrete, Screed, Blockwork.
  • Bauder Metal Primer: For large areas of Metal.
  • Cryl Primer 287: For New/Porous Concrete, Screed, Blockwork.
  • Special Primer 610: For EPDM.
  • No Primer Required: For small areas of Metals, Hard Plastics, PVC-P, mineral surface felt, PVC/TPO Single ply and existing Liquid Waterproof coatings (Subject to cleaning pre-treatment and adhesion testing).


  • Application: Add catalyst to the primer at the rate indicated on the container (except Pox R103 & Special Primer 610). Apply catalysed primer using a synthetic deep pile roller to upstands and details first, before applying to the main area. Ensure that primer is applied into the joints between panels to fill the gaps.
  • Note: For other substrates, consult the Bauder Technical Department on 01473 257671 for required preparation methods and priming.


Air and vapour control layer

BauderTEC KSD FBS.

Guidance for specification option:

Elastomer bitumen air and vapour control layer, self-adhesive membrane. The lap of the membrane is equipped with a glass fleece to the underside. This allows the membrane to be sealed with either a gas torch or hot air welder.

  • Width: 1.08 m.

BauderTEC DBR 06.

Guidance for specification option:

Robust, self-adhesive elastomeric bitumen air and vapour control layer (AVCL), with a mica finished upper surface to allow easy bonding of insulation using appropriate Bauder Insulation Adhesive. One side lap features an 80 mm wide glass fleece along the underside, and a 100 mm strip of aluminium foil above. The other side lap has a thermofusible film on the top surface. This arrangement ensures that laps are heat sealed using hot air or gas torch as appropriate to extrude a bitumen bead, thus ensuring waterproofing integrity.

  • Width: 1.08 m.
  • Length: 10 m.
  • Thickness: 2.5 mm.

  • Reinforcement: Polyester coated aluminium foil and 200 g/m² glass fleece.

  • Facing: Black aluminium foil to both faces.

  • Standard board size: 1200 x 1200 mm.

  • Thermal conductivity: 0.022 W/m·K (may vary dependent on thickness specified).

Liquid-applied waterproofing

Type

LiquiDEK, Blue grey (RAL 7031).

Guidance for specification option:

A cold liquid-applied, fast-curing waterproofing resin, for use on the main roof area of the LiquiTEC Roof / Terrace system. It is applied in two coats, ‘wet-on-wet’, with a layer of Bauder 110 g/m² reinforcement fleece between them. The product is a poly(methyl methacrylate) (PMMA) resin-based resin, and requires the addition of a catalyst to trigger curing. It is solvent, isocyanate and halogen-free, minimizing its environmental impact.

  • Coverage: 3 kg/m² (minimum).
  • Application temperature: -5 to +35°C.
  • Application method: Roller.
  • Rainproof time: 30 minutes (approximately).
  • Overcoat/ traffic time: 45 minutes (approximately).
  • Able to withstand stress: 120 minutes (approximately).

Reinforcement

Bauder 110 g/m² reinforcement fleece.

Bauder 100/60 GRP Trim Angle.

Guidance for specification option:

GRP roof edge trim for use with Bauder Cold Applied Liquid Waterproofing systems where the system is terminated at perimeter details, such as drip edges, watercheck kerbs or parapets.

  • Length: 3 m.
  • Face depth: 60 mm.
  • Fixing arm: 100 mm.

Note: The trim may be used either way round as required.

  • Thickness: 2 mm.
  • Colour: Black.

Installation: 

-  The trims must be bedded in Bauder Sealant and mechanically fixed with corrosion resistant flush headed screws. 

-  Fixings centres must be no greater than 300 mm with fixings within 50 mm of the ends. In high wind risk areas or above 10 m high, fixing centres are to be at no more than 150 mm.

-  The new trim must cover any open joint, which may exist between the kerb and the top of the wall by a distance of minimum 20 mm.

-  The reinforced Bauder LiquiTOP System is to be dressed over the trim to its full extent and past the edge of the downward facing edge. Once the system has cured, the excess is to be trimmed off to a neat finish.

Bauder Aluminium Termination Bar.

Guidance for specification option:

Natural finish aluminium alternative to a lead counterflashing, for use at upstand details to give protection to the top edge of the waterproofing. It should be restricted to use on upstands where a chase cannot be cut into the wall.

Bauder GRP Termination Bar.

Guidance for specification option:

Black glass-reinforced plastic (GRP) alternative to a lead counterflashing, for use at upstand details to give protection to the top edge of the waterproofing. It should be restricted to use on upstands where a chase cannot be cut into the wall.

Bauder lightning conductors.

Guidance for specification option:

Lightning conductor clips are specially designed secure clips that allow for movement.

  • Bauder Lightning conductor – Type 4: polyvinyl chloride (PVC)-coated or bare conductor.

Bauder LiquiDETAIL.

Guidance for specification option:

Cold liquid-applied, fast-curing waterproofing resin that can be used on upstands and details. PMMA-based resin that requires the addition of catalyst to trigger curing, and is solvent, isocyanate and halogen-free.
