Batwing® Smoke and Acoustic Perimeter Seal

Seals to provide a barrier to the passage of smoke, as well as thermal or acoustic insulation.

Features and benefits:

• The Lorient Batwing® smoke and acoustic perimeter seal minimizes the opening and closing resistance of the door leaf due to its unique, curved elastomeric fins, which provide ongoing performance and durability in service.
• Doors are easier to open, contributing to Document M requirements, without losing any of the benefits of smoke protection up to 200°C, and Document E acoustic containment.
• Tested for acoustic performance in accordance with BS EN 1634-1: 2000.
• Proven acoustic performance of 31dB Rw, when used on a typical architectural solid core door, with the LAS8001 si drop seal.
• Acoustic performance of 37dB Rw attained on a specialist high performance acoustic door (with the LAS8001 si).
• Tested for smoke performance in accordance with BS 476-31.1: 1983 at ambient temperatures; BS EN 1634-3: 2004 at ambient and medium temperatures (LAS1212); effective smoke seal up to 200°C.
• Batwing® is now available in a clear option, which perfectly complements the natural features of a doorset, without compromising on aesthetics.
• Acoustic performance: Weighted Sound reduction (Rw): 31 dB.
• Acoustic performance: Sound Transmission Class (STC): 31 dB.

Location:

• Head and jambs of single and double leaf doors.
• Use with practically any threshold (door bottom) seal. LAS8001 automatic drop seal is recommended for optimum acoustic properties.
• Use with plain fire seal (LP1504).
