Application

Suitable for use in lightweight steel floors and buildings. Can be used with underfloor heating.

Description

Calcium sulfate based screed for use with Lewis Deck dovetail sheeting on timber, metal web or steel joists in masonry, timber or lightweight steel structures, to form ground, separating or mezzanine floors.

Gyvlon SteelDeck screed is a blend of Gyvlon Binder, selected aggregates and clean potable water, to produce a pumpable self smoothing, flowing screed (manufactured to BS EN 13813:2002 and to the specific requirements of Lewis Deck dovetail sheeting).

Features and benefits:

  • Ideal for use with under floor heating.
  • Can easily accommodate under floor heating within the screed zone.
  • Easily achieves SR2 finish as described in BS 8204.
  • Minimal thermal expansion (0.012 mm/mK).
  • No need for loading out prior to flooring.
  • Protein free – cannot harbour harmful bacteria.
  • Self compacting.
  • Self curing.
  • Excellent thermal conductivity.
  • Environmentally friendly.

Primer:

Requires priming prior to application of adhesives; generally acrylic dispersion or water based epoxy.

Sub base:

Gyvlon screeds are suitable for application to most types of sub bases, demonstrating an excellent degree of dimensional stability (maximum shrinkage/ expansion on drying of 0.02%) when compared to traditional sand/ cement based screeds.

Application thickness (minimum):

Application thickness of Gyvlon Steeldeck over Lewis Deck is 36–75 mm, depending on loading, joist spacing and use of UFH. A typical thickness of 50 mm allows 20 mm cover to under floor heating pipes.
