Application

Curtain wall system for element facades with slender aesthetics.

Description

CW 65-EF is a cost-efficient curtain wall system for element facades with exclusive slender aesthetics, without compromising the extreme strength and stability required in high-rise constructions.

The typical characteristics of the unitized facade result in a high execution speed on the building site, because its elements are completely pre-assembled in the workshop. This high productivity however embraces architectural aesthetics as the CW 65-EF works with slender profiles of only 65 mm.

Features and benefits:

  • Pressure equalized and drained unitized curtain wall.
  • Available in beaded or silicone glazed options.
  • Internal and external visible width of 65 mm.
  • Infills include vision and spandrel panels, and outward opening windows and doors.
  • Drained and ventilated glazing with EPDM synthetic rubber gaskets.
  • Choose from a full range of polyester powder coat colours and anodized finishes.
  • Dual colour available offering a different colour inside and out.
  • Ten-year systems guarantee provided as standard.
  • Corresponds to the BRE Global Green Guide online generic specification for curtain wall and achieves a summary rating of B or C.
  • CAD and BIM details available on request.

Guidance for specification option:

Unitized modular cassette.

This system is a thermally insulated aluminium element (unitized) facade consisting of frames that are glazed on the outside with glazing beads that accentuate the contour of the different volumes. Recessed rubber gaskets ensure a joint width of 9 mm between the frames. The visible width of the aluminium construction on inside and outside is 65 mm.

CW 65-EF/HI.

Guidance for specification option:

High insulation unitized modular cassette.

This system is an aluminium element (unitized) facade consisting of frames that are glazed with structural glass to become a complete flush appearance on the outside of the building. The structural glass panels are bonded on a natural anodized profile to guarantee a good cohesion of the panels to the main structure.

Recessed rubber gaskets ensure a joint width of 16 mm between the frames. The visible width of the aluminium construction on the inside is 65 mm.

CW 65-EF/SG.

Guidance for specification option:

Silicone bonded unitized modular cassette.

This system is a thermally insulated aluminium element (unitized) facade consisting of frames that are glazed on the outside with glazing beads that accentuate the contour of the different volumes. The increased insulation of the system is obtained by placing an additional sealing below the glass and with a new gasket between the thermal profiles.

Recessed rubber gaskets ensure a joint width of 9 mm between the frames. The visible width of the aluminium construction on inside and outside is 65 mm.

Manufacturer guidance

Recyclability

Manufacturer guidance

Aluminium is one of the most recycled materials on Earth and can be recycled endlessly into itself. It is 100% recyclable and retains its properties indefinitely.

Recycled content

As defined in clause 7.8 of BS EN ISO 14021

-

Manufacturer guidance

Due to the global limited availability of recycled aluminium, the objective to increase recycled content to 75% doesn't have any environmental benefit. Increasing recycled content for 1 project or product only means other projects/products contain less.

However, Reynaers Aluminium works closely together with its suppliers to ensure a correct % of recycled content. As there is a variation between the recycled content provided by these suppliers, we communicate the annual averages.

For specific projects, Reynaers Aluminium can select a supplier with high recycled content, possibly with price impact and extended delivery times.

To improve the environmental impact of aluminium, Reynaers Aluminium focusses on following important aspects:

•   Use recycled content: work together with suppliers to ensure the use of recycled content.

•   Purchase low carbon primary aluminium: decrease the CO2 impact of the primary aluminium, which is necessary to produce extrusion billets, by using low carbon primary aluminium, produced by green electricity (primarily hydro power).

•   Work closely together with European Aluminium to improve the global impact of aluminium production and improve sorting and recycling.

This approach has the most impact as it combines short term with long term improvements of the aluminium industry, to make a clear environmental shift.
