Horizontal-Pivot Windows – Application Overview
Horizontal-pivot windows provide a space-efficient, versatile solution for modern façades, combining easy operation, superior ventilation, and clean aesthetics. Suitable for both rectangular and round formats, they support sash weights up to 300 kg and allow full 180° rotation for maintenance and cleaning.
Ideal applications include:
Horizontal-Pivot Window System
Horizontal-pivot windows are engineered with a central horizontal rotation axis, providing a space-efficient and highly functional glazing solution for contemporary architecture. The design enables smooth, effortless operation while maximising natural ventilation and daylight penetration, making it ideal for residential, commercial, and public buildings.
The UNITAS hardware series by Gretsch-Unitas supports both rectangular and round horizontal-pivot window configurations and accommodates sash weights of up to 300 kg, offering exceptional flexibility for large-format and bespoke glazing designs. An integrated, adjustable turn-brake within the pivot mechanism securely holds the sash in any desired position while still allowing full 180° rotation for ease of cleaning and maintenance.
Barrier-free and automated operation can be achieved by combining the horizontal-pivot hardware with the ELTRAL K35 concealed motor-driven chain drive, enabling force-free sash movement and compliance with accessibility requirements.
Designed with clean aesthetics and a wide range of external colour options, this system seamlessly integrates into modern façades while meeting demanding performance and usability criteria.
