This seminar focuses on ceramic tiling and the hospitality industry. It will be looking at the relevance of using tiles within the sector, have a brief introductory look at tiles in general and then will consider the design choices available to specifiers. It will look at application and pay particular attention to slip resistance and how it is specified.

In this CPD we will be looking to enhance the understanding of the sustainability benefits of specifying porcelain and ceramic tiles together with their contribution to health and wellbeing in all types of construction including housing and commercial buildings by exploring:The circular economy.Energy Management.Carbon emissions.Life Cycle assessment of ceramic tiles.VOCs.The Golden Thread.Cleaning & maintenance of ceramic tiles.Safety and wellbeing.

To examine the requirements necessary to correctly and appropriately specify ceramic tiling for projects in the hospitality sector including the relevance of using tiles within the sector, an introduction to tiles in general and the design choices available to specifiers. Specific applications will be considered and particular attention paid to slip resistance and how it is specified.
