Little Reddings Primary School

Little Reddings Primary School

The Washroom Vanity Company

Little Reddings Primary School in Hertfordshire has recently completed a reconstruction project on its original site, as part of the nationwide DfE School Rebuilding Programme. The new build school has been designed with a strong focus on sustainability, utilising timber for its primary structure and operating at net zero in operation.Building Services (Beds) Ltd had already procured the Vanity Underframes and sought a custom solid surface wash trough profile to suit. To meet their design requirements, we utilised our in-house fabrication capabilities to modify our existing Solid Surface WT3 Slim Flat Bottomed Thermoformed Wash Trough. This modification included adding a 50mm extended tap deck and reducing the downstand by 50mm. The classic Everest White colorway was chosen to perfectly complement the vanity underframes. Our WT3 Slim profile was the ideal choice for the school as it complies with the School Output Specification for Sanitaryware outlined by the Department for Education. The innovative thermoformed wash trough design offers a seamless, smooth, curved finish with minimal hard edges, reducing dirt accumulation and enhancing hygiene standards. Additionally, the non-porous quality of the solid surface material ensures a low-maintenance and easily cleaned wash trough.“This is the first time that I have worked with The Washroom Vanity Company and I would absolutely work with them again. I was particularly impressed with the service, as I received a phone call after I took delivery to ensure that everything had arrived correctly. The wash troughs were easy to install and were delivered with pre-drilled tap holes which helped speed up installation.” James Denniss, Building Services (Beds) Ltd.

Low Carbon Farming & Abbey View Produce

The Washroom Vanity Company

Low Carbon Farming is dedicated to decreasing agricultural carbon emissions in Britain through the implementation of advanced greenhouse heating systems. This initiative aims to promote more sustainable food production. The company's inaugural sites in Norfolk and Suffolk are projected to generate 360 new employment opportunities. Spanning 70 acres, the greenhouses will have the capacity to yield 12% of the UK’s tomatoes while achieving a remarkable 75% reduction in carbon footprint.Working with contractor LPL Construction Services at the Suffolk location, we needed to implement a washroom solution that would be both hygienic and robust. Given the nature of the tasks carried out, which often involves manual work, a thorough hand wash is essential. However, this frequently results in splashing, highlighting the necessity for a more spacious hand wash area. Our WT1 Sloping Thermoformed Wash Troughs were selected in the elegant Quartz Grey colourway for the project. These wash troughs are designed with a thermoformed body that has minimal joints, making cleaning effortless and significantly enhancing hygiene standards. The nonporous, durable solid surface material ensures that the wash troughs can endure the demands of daily use and frequent cleaning, making them a dependable and long-lasting solution. The wash troughs were chosen to be supported with Cantilever Brackets, which not only provides a sleek and modern look but also allows for easy cleaning of the area underneath. To enhance the hand wash station, Deva Sensor Taps were pre-plumbed into the wash troughs. These sensor taps are designed to promote maximum user hygiene delivering water without touch. Additionally, the automatic shut-off feature of the sensor taps contributes to reducing water consumption, making them an excellent choice for the site that prioritises environmental sustainability.

The thermoformed trough body offers a reduction in joints which not only makes cleaning easy, but also elevates hygiene standards. Crafted from robust solid surface material, this wash trough is engineered to endure the demands of daily use, ensuring longevity and consistent performance for the university. The design specifications called for a Vanity Underframe that would not only conceal and secure all pipework but also provide a clean and sleek look. The neutral Gunmetal Grey underframe and Cloud Grey IPS Panels were chosen to perfectly complement the wash trough. To ensure ease of use for everyone, the hand wash station was equipped with push action taps, the self-closing function ideal to ensure ongoing water efficiency for the university.
