Soudal products were used in the construction of the first passivhaus premium project in The Netherlands.The Passief Bouwen Foundation head offices and information centre are an example of both energy efficiency through low consumption and energy generation.The products and methods used in the project demonstrate that the high requirements for passivhaus premium can be achieved with the right materials.Soudal products including Soudatight liquid membranes were used for sealing of masonry joints and connections. Soudafoam Window & Door SWS was also used for additional thermal and acoustic insulation and finally the Soudaframe SWI pre-framing system was used to mount windows in the building.

Soudal Silirub MA was used in the restoration of the roof of the historic Puerta de Alcalá monument in Madrid, a UNESCO world heritage site. Silirub MA was tested extensively prior to being used in the project.Silirub MA is specially formulated for sealing applications with natural stone substrates to ensure it will not stain the stone itself, staining can occur when using silicones on porous substrates causing a shadow, or wet looking area next to the sealant.Silirub MA is a low modulus, neutral curing silicone, available in a wide range of colours to match natural stone substrates and also in translucent. The sealant is free of MEKO and also incorporates a biocide that delays the appearance of fungi and mould. In addition it meets the requirements of FDA code 21 §177.2600 (e)+(f) so can be considered as food safe. Silirub MA conforms to ISO 16938-1 (Testing for staining on natural stone by sealants).
