Sustainability overview
With our SonaSpray range made from rapidly renewable resources that sequester carbon, sustainability is at the core of all our operations.
We achieved our ISO 14001 accreditation in 2020 and our independently certified carbon-neutral status in 2023. Our carbon-neutral status was achieved for our entire operations, including the transportation of our products. As we work towards our long-term goal of Net Zero by 2050, we’re taking real actions right now to reduce our emissions in line with science-based targets and ensure that we’re playing our part in slowing rising temperatures.
Our SonaSpray range of acoustic decorative finishes boast class-leading environmental credentials, contributing to some of the world’s more stringent sustainability, VOC and wellbeing certification systems.
Our SonaSpray range is designed to satisfy many sustainable design certification systems including BREAAM, SKA, Living Building Challenge and LEED. Furthermore, SonaSpray products are M1 Classified as Low Emitting Building Materials (the top achievable class).
SonaSpray is also GREENGUARD Gold Certified for Indoor Air Quality. GREENGUARD Gold Products are now confirmed to show compliance with BREEAM rating system HEA Indoor Air Quality and ensure that a product has met some of the world’s most rigorous and comprehensive standards for low emissions of VOC’s into indoor air. The SonaSpray acoustic spray range is also covered by an Environmental Product Declaration in accordance with ISO 14025.
SonaSpray also achieves Cradle2Cradle and contributes towards satisfying many features under the WELL Building Standard® which measures attributes of buildings that impact occupant health.
Made of fire-treated, recycled paper and other rapidly renewable natural resources, SonaSpray can effectively lower the carbon footprint of the building project by sequestering rich stores of carbon for the life of the structure or application.
As a result of these impressive environmental credentials, our products have been applied in some of Great Britain’s most sustainable building projects, including the Enterprise Centre at the University of East Anglia.
