Since its establishment in 1909, Horne Engineering Ltd has been at the forefront of designing, developing, and manufacturing thermostatic control products with a focus on safety and innovation.

Our journey began with the invention of the world's first thermostatic steam control valve in 1909 and establishing a customer base for our new technology. Then, in response to customer needs, the Hot Water Blending valve followed in the early 1920s; laying the foundation for today's advanced thermostatic mixing and shower valves. These valves have become indispensable across various sectors, particularly in healthcare, where they play a crucial role in scald protection and Legionella control.

In 2015, we introduced another ground-breaking innovation: the patented In-Line Thermal Disinfection Unit (ILTDU). This revolutionary device effectively addresses the persistent challenge of retrograde contamination in domestic water systems by pathogens like Pseudomonas Aeruginosa. With antibiotic-resistant pathogens posing a growing threat, the ILTDU stands as a game-changer in healthcare delivery, ensuring safer water services and ongoing patient safety.

Our diverse product portfolio includes the award-winning Optitherm thermostatic tap, renowned for its reliability and compliance beyond the healthcare regulations. This tap has become the preferred choice for clinical and surgical handwashing in NHS and private hospitals across the UK, contributing to improved hand hygiene behaviours and infection control.

Furthermore, our Duŝo shower column offers a striking and elegant solution for group showering applications in a range of settings, from sports facilities to camping sites. Designed with practical functionality and eco-credentials in mind, the Duŝo ensures an optimal shower experience while conserving water and energy.
