The focus of this CPD is to introduce the audience to Regenerative Architecture. First Regenerative Design is explored as a whole, framed as an evolution of Sustainable Design, with reference to systems thinking and the circular economy. An exploration of Regenerative Architecture follows, supported by a selection of case studies and references to biomimicry, in terms of material, structural and energy efficiency, and carbon storage. By the end of the seminar you should have a greater understanding of: - How 'sustainable architecture' is evolving- What is meant by 'regenerative design'- The components of 'regenerative architecture'- The future of sustainable architecture which can be applied to future projects- Different aspects of biomimicry in the context of architecture

This seminar will explore circularity in architecture and the flooring industry. Based on interviews with architects, interior designers, developers and other professionals, the CPD offers thoughts and ideas on what might need to change for the construction industry to become more circular. The CPD will look at some steps on the way; projects and initiatives that are happening today, and that are based on circular thinking. Furthermore, it will also offer some wood flooring specification essentials.

This CPD examines the materials and production processes of wood flooring – exploring the journey from a forest to a floor. It aims to emphasise the importance of the sourcing of wood; well managed forests, deforestation vs. responsible sourcing, and how this is regulated or certified. You will learn about flooring types, the processes of production, and their manufacturing techniques. The CPD highlights important aspects of successfully specifying wood flooring. This CPD looks at what is meant by wellbeing, including its origins, and why it is important, both on a personal level and on a broader economic level and impact on business performance. It aims to boost awareness of global climate change, develop understanding of biophilia and biophilic design and increase awareness of the WELL Building Standard.
