Falco has completed the roll-out of the UK’s first ever series of smart bike hangars for Brighton & Hove City Council.The scheme which got underway towards the end of 2022, involved the manufacture, supply and installation of smart bike hangars with mobile app access, to provide the seaside resort with a total fleet of 150 bike hangars, equalling 900 secure on-street cycle parking spaces.The 18 month programme involved installing bike hangars across Brighton within four different tranches, at 39 different locations, with hangar number 150 installed on Langdale Road, Hove last week.Each futuristic bike hangar provides Brighton residents with quick and easy accessibility via the users smartphone. The user simply downloads the app, registers for a space, is granted accessibility via the back office and then can access their chosen hangar within seconds. Falco recently took to the design, manufacture, supply and installation of a bespoke cycle hub based on the traditional FalcoLok-500 design. Installed at Anson House, south Westminster, in view of the River Thames, the new cycle hub has been coupled with the FalcoVert-Pro cycle rack to provide secure accommodate for up to 24 bikes.Installed on behalf of Westminster City Council, the new cycle hub features electrogalvanised perforated sheet cladding, powder coated in a Jet Black RAL colour, along with a secure access system.The whole shelter is a bespoke contemporary design of the classic FalcoLok-500 shelter, which features clean lines through the glass cladding and supported by stainless steel glass clamps. The steelwork is hot dip galvanised to BS EN ISO 1461 and also meets UK structural design laws with EN 1090 accreditation. Falco recently manufactured, supplied and installed four bays of FalcoSpan cycle canopy for the new £15m Ellesmere Port Sports Leisure Village in Cheshire!The FalcoSpan cycle canopy was chosen for it’s light and spacious design providing maximum accessibility but great cycle coverage. The shelter was powder coated in RAL 9005 Jet Black to both increase durability and match the colour scheme of the leisure centre. Additionally hard wood cladding was added to the legs to soften the feel of the shelters and maintain a coherent theme of the overall design. The development has been co-funded by Sport England on the site of the former Stanney High School and is home to a new purpose built sports and leisure facilities including an 8no lane 25m pool, separate teaching pool, 8 court sports hall to National Premier League Basketball standards with 1400 retractable seats, dance and exercise studios, gymnasium, spinning zone, wet and dry changing areas and café. This is the latest cycle hub designed, manufactured, supplied and installed by Falco for Fairfield General Hospital in Bury, Greater Manchester. Installed on behalf of Northern Care Alliance NHS Foundation trust, the cycle hub is based on the flagship FalcoLok design and provides staff, visitors and patients to the hospital with secure cycle parking for up to 28 bikes.The FalcoLevel-Premium+ two-tier cycle racks are housed within a 6m x 4m version of the FalcoLok-500 cycle hub, complete with easy access automatic power doors, motion sensor LED lighting, helmet lockers, bespoke branding graphics and powder coating in an NHS blue RAL colour. Falco designed, manufactured and installed the new e-Cargo bike storage hangars for the UK’s first e-cargo bike share scheme launched this week in Hackney. Operated by Beryl bikes on behalf of Hackney Council, the scheme is the first of its kind in the UK offering public cargo bike hire.The specially designed FalcoCargoBoxes are fitted with the new FalcoSmart locking-app which is linked to the Beryl booking app enabling users to hire one of the brand new e-cargo bikes and open the cargo hangar with their phone.The scheme was launched in Stoke Newington on ‘World Car-free Day’ as part of the tri-borough Zero Emissions Network (ZEN) of Hackney, Islington and Tower Hamlets. This is the new sleek and inconspicuous cycle hub recently designed, manufactured, supplied and installed by Falco at Hackney Central Overground Station.Greeting commuters to the west of the station, the 10m cycle hub has been fitted with a combination of both reinforced safety glass and sustainable hardwood cladding.A series of 48 spaces of the FalcoLevel-Premium+ two-tier cycle rack have been installed along with a FalcoFix 2.0 cycle repair station, LED lighting, CCTV security, branding graphics, a green sedum roof and secure mobile app access. These are the classic FalcoSail cycle shelters recently manufactured, supplied and installed by Falco for Scottish Premiership team - Kilmarnock Football Club.Falco installed two 6m FalcoSail cycle shelter bays complete with the popular Toaster cycle rack to accommodate 16 bikes per bay. With the aim of encouraging cycling uptake to and from school, Kirk Ella St Andrews Community Primary School in Kirk Ella, commisioned a 10m cycle shelter run to provide students with up to 24 secure cycle parking spaces.Falco dismantled and disposed of the previous, tired, cycle shelter facility and installed two five metre FalcoQuarter cycle shelters coupled with twelve surface fix Sheffield Stands. The London Borough of Southwark is the latest local authority to receive a network of the UK’s most user-friendly bike hangar design - the FalcoPod. Falco manufactured, supplied and installed a total of 72 units with manual key access, four units with smart mobile app access and three cycle hubs with smart mobile app access across the borough.Falco is delighted to be working with the Greater London Council to roll-out their next phase of residential bike hangars. These are the 39 FalcoBloc picnic tables Falco supplied to Manchester City Football Club back in August 2010. Now twelve years on, after continuous use every matchday, the picnic tables are in as good of a condition now as when they were first supplied!When Manchester City Football Club required a high quantity of picnic tables for their brand new City Square entertainment zone, they approached Falco for a solution. Man City required a product that was highly robust and could withstand heavy demand from football day fixtures. Falco were able to provide Man City when they chose the high quality and robust FalcoBloc picnic tables range, capable of withstanding high use and constant demand. Back in 2010, the picnic tables formed part of the club’s new development for a City Square entertainment zone, a vibrant and state-of-the-art fan experience which was a new concept in British football, located on Joe Mercer Way outside the City store. Manchester Piccadilly Station has received a huge cycling boost after Falco manufactured and installed a series of 228 mixed-use cycle parking spaces across five separate areas at the north west city’s principal railway station.Working in conjunction with Network Rail, TfGM and Avanti West Coast, the scheme involved the manufacture, supply and installation of a number of mixed-use cycle parking systems with associated canopies, along with the provision of a cycle repair and maintenance station to allow commuters to carry out cycle maintenance whilst on the go.Falco provided station operator, Network Rail, with feasibility studies, completed landlords consent submission, contract planning and worked with station staff and stakeholders to re-configure the stations CCTV systems to ensure full coverage of the new cycle racks.
