Contract Fabrics and Enviromental Sustainability
Chieftain Fabrics
This seminar explores how contract fabrics might be made more sustainable through the replacement or removal of certain added chemicals. Alternatives to high-volume commercially produced fabric are explored. Future directions are appraised - especially those based on naturally occurring phenomena. New innovations in fabric production are also identified and explored. By the end of the CPD you will have a greater understanding of: - What is meant by added chemistry and what possible substitutes are available.- What makes a contract fabric- How to distinguish between harmful and beneficial added chemistry- What fabrics are best from a sustainable viewpoint- Future directions in biomimicry and fabric design
