Founded a Century Ago in 1984
For over a century, Beeck has been at the forefront of paint innovation. In 1894 founder Ludwig Beeck established the company with a vision to develop and produce pure mineral paints. These efforts led to the creation of coatings that could achieve an inseparable bond and a microporous finish. These original formulae are still used today for the conservation of built heritage and impress with their large colours diversity and their enormous durability.
Since the company was founded, continuous research and development have been underway using natural raw materials.
Our Mineral Paint Collection
Beeck Mineral Paints are natural, water-based paints for internal and external use to meet the highest standards. What makes these coatings so remarkable?
Breathable
Entirely vapour open, Beeck Mineral Paints allow moisture to pass through the coating and allow buildings to breathe.
Beeck Mineral Paints are capillary active and open-pored, allowing water vapour to move efficiently through the coating. This ability for moisture to pass through is known as vapour permeability or ‘breathability’.
Breathability is essential for older buildings where moisture is always present within the building fabric. When moisture becomes trapped beneath the surface of a non-breathable coating, issues can begin to arise, including damage to finishes, condensation, mould or damage to the building fabric itself.
This moisture movement is not just beneficial for older buildings; even standard cavity wall construction or ultra-insulated buildings can benefit from improved breathability. Highly breathable coatings can help regulate and release humidity, improve indoor air quality and reduce energy demand for homes and businesses alike.
Durable
Due to their chemical bond, Beeck Mineral Paints have an extremely long life, a coating that can last for decades.
When choosing a coating, you can add style, character and protection to your building. Beeck Mineral Paints offer a resilient finish for high-traffic internal areas and external facades requiring protection from the elements.
Unlike other conventional coatings, which create a film over the background surface, Beeck Mineral Paints absorb and form a chemical bond. This process is called silicification and is what makes Beeck Mineral Paints remarkably long-lasting and durable.
Natural
Since the company was founded, continuous research and development have been underway using natural raw materials.
While building traditions have changed over the decades, our enthusiasm for premium and natural materials has remained steady. Beeck Mineral Paints are made from naturally occurring and plentiful raw materials, free from potentially harmful additions such as solvents, biocides and preservatives.
At Beeck, our mineral paints are made from five core ingredients; quartz sand, potassium carbonate, mineral pigments, mineral fillers and water. Using only mineral pigments provides UV and colour stability, a high opacity level and and long-term colour performance.
Sustainable
Pure mineral paints made from natural and abundant raw minerals are exceptionally sustainable and help promote healthy living environments.
Using natural and abundant materials means that our mineral paints have no detrimental impact on the environment, people or buildings. Further, when combined with an incredibly streamlined production process, these coatings require very few additions.
