Ancon 21/18 Omega Channel & PP21 Movement Tie - 2D Detail

Stainless steel movement/ lateral restraint slip ties designed for use as lateral restraint ties for movement joints. Available as channel ties and cavity ties and manufactured from austenitic stainless steel grade 1.4301 (304).

Debonding sleeves are used on plain ended wall ties at vertical movement joints. The tie will restrain the masonry against lateral wind loads but the sleeve will allow the masonry to expand or contract.

2D Detail

Channel and tie system for connecting masonry cladding to steel stud framing through insulation board.

Features:

  • Manufactured from corrosion-resistant Austenitic stainless steel.
  • Channel is available in 2700 mm and 3000 mm lengths.
  • Pre-punched holes are positioned at close centres to ensure a fixing position is located near an end, even when the channel is cut on site.
  • Self-drilling screws fix through the channel and rigid board into the steel frame
  • SD25 ties can be positioned at any point along the channel and are built into the masonry bed joints
  • Tie lengths from 100 mm to 300 mm.
  • CE’ marked to BS EN 845-1 – see literature or CE Declaration for performance values/tie spacing.

Ancon 500 Tension System

The Ancon 500 is a high performance tension system. It is available in various sizes from 8–42 mm in both carbon and stainless steel. The Ancon 500 System, with its wide range of components can be used to create a variety of assemblies, from simple tie bars to complex bracing systems involving several bars joined at one point. Special anchor plates and discs can be manufactured to suit project requirements. Connecting plates are designed to suit particular applications. Ancon tension systems are supplied as full systems and are not available as individual components.

Ancon 500 Stainless Steel system is recommended for applications that demand corrosion resistance and a maintenance-free life, or where an attractive polished finish is required.

Features:

  • The system can be extended over the maximum bar length by the inclusion of couplers or anchor discs/ cross couplers.
  • The bar used in the system has a minimum yield of 500 N/mm².
  • Isolation supplied as standard with stainless steel systems.
  • The fork connectors and couplers are designed to allow adjustments to be made to the system length without the need for turnbuckles.
  • CE marked to BS EN 1090-1.

Ancon AMR-X Masonry Reinforcement - 2D Detail

Ancon AMR is a welded wire ladder type reinforcement, manufactured in 2700 mm standard lengths, used to improve the structural performance of masonry walls, in accordance with BS 5628-2: 2005, by providing additional resistance to lateral loads e.g. wind. It can also be used to reduce the risk of cracking either at stress concentrations around openings or as a result of movement, in accordance with BS 5628-3: 2005.

AMR is available in four standard widths, 60, 100, 150 and 175 mm and is suitable for walls 100–215 mm thick.

The product is manufactured from five wire sizes which, after flattening, have an equivalent wire diameter of 3, 3.5, 4, 4.5 and 5 mm. Longitudinal wires have a minimum characteristic yield strength of 500 N/mm².

Ancon AMR is available in austenitic stainless steel and galvanized steel. Please note, galvanized steel is not available in 3.5 and 4.5 mm wire diameters and is not suitable for use in the external leaf of a cavity wall.

Masonry Reinforcement for collar-jointed walls is also available from Ancon.

Ancon AMR-CJ is used to tie the two leaves of thin masonry together, so it acts as a single unit. The product consists of flat ties welded to flattened longitudinal wires. Manufactured in stainless and galvanized steel, AMR-CJ is supplied in a standard width of 175 mm to suit a wall width of 215 mm comprising of either standard bricks or 100 mm blocks.

Ancon AMR-X features shaped cross wires which ensure the longitudinal wires are located in the centre of a bed joint, which help ensure an adequate bond, accelerates construction and improves build quality.

Bed joint reinforcement requirements/ spacing to be determined by Structural Engineer and Contractor to be informed.
