Application

The iPRD range shall be suitable for installation on two types of fishbone type distribution boards according to the international standard EN 60715 and DIN43880 1988.

The SPD shall be able to fit on Acti9 Isobar-P distribution boards, or into one Acti9 KQ load centres.

  • On a 5-wire system TN-S or TN-C-S – L1, L2, L3, N and PE (including single phase).
  • On a 4-wire system TT net – L1, L2, L3, N (including single phase).
  • SPD shall fit into any fishbone system of the cabinet without causing any damage to other devices or their accessories.

Description

The iPRD range shall be a surge protection device:

  • The SPD shall be defined to be in conformity with the IEC 61643-11:2011, EN 61643- 11:2012+A11:2018 standard.
  • The SPD shall be suitable for installation on DIN rail according to the international standard EN 60715.
  • The SPD shall be suitable for installation on fishbone panel boards
  • The SPD shall be containing visual fault indicator with remote signalling contact.
  • The SPD shall be delivered with removable cartridges for line protection.

The iPRD range shall include products with added functions to offer simplification of installation inside the cabinet and remote supervision of the product end of life.

- End of life Remote supervision:

  • SPD iPRD shall have a Potential-free O/C contacts to inform owner of SPD end of life through remote supervision like SE Wiser solution or KNX functionality.
  • For KQ load center SPD, the product will be designed with a variant without potential-free O/C contacts.

General rules for SPD :

  • IEC 61643-11 ed1 (2011-03).
  • EN 61643-11 (2012-10) +A1: 2014 + A11:2018.
  • BS EN 61643-11:2012+A11:2018 : Surge protective devices connected to low-voltage power systems. Requirements and test methods.
  • BS 7671:2018+A3:2024 : Requirements for Electrical Installations. IET Wiring Regulations.

Products should conform to following Additional Related Standards – standards not necessarily directly applicable to the product itself but which need to be considered during the development program either in part or in total includes:

  • IEC 60529 (1989)+ A1 (1999) + A2 (2013).
  • Degrees of protection by enclosures.
  • BS EN 61439-3:2012 Low-voltage switchgear and control gear assemblies Distribution boards intended to be operated by ordinary persons (DBO).
  • 2D design tolerances compliant with ISO 8015.

CE and UKCA marked. Meets the requirements of LV Directives: 2014/35/EU.
