CT1 is a unique, solvent free, ecologically compliant, low modulus, neutral curing sealant & construction adhesive with high bonding strength and enhanced flexibility. For internal & external use.
Application

CT1 is used by trades people in every sector of the construction and maintenance industries including roofing contractors, joiners, window suppliers, kitchen fitters, bathroom installers, as well as specialist fit out and building companies:

  • For all applications, including construction, engineering, food preparation areas, roofing, building repair and maintenance, installation, marine environments and clean rooms.
  • Versatile sealant for use in commercial and domestic applications.
  • Application temperature range: 5°C to 35°C
  • Service temperature range: -40°C to 120°C
  • Suitable for internal or external applications** (CT1 Colours).
  • Formulated to seal joints where a strong bond and movement accommodation is required.
  • CT1 works on natural stone, polyester, polystyrene foam, brick, concrete, tile, glass, wet surfaces and underwater.
  • Anti-Pick** (suitable for use in prisons and hospitals) - Shore A - 60 ±5 (DIN 53505).
  • Can also be painted with most common water-based paints (not suitable with alkyd/oil-based paints)**. For best results, prior testing is recommended.
  • For use in expansion/structural joints (Class 20HM - ISO11600)
  • For bonding and sealing of guttering**.
  • For application advice on powder-coated substrates contact the powder-coating manufacturer.

How is CT1 Supplied?

CT1 is supplied in a 290ml cartridge.

Now available in Eco Complaint Cartridges that are made from 80% recycled plastic and are 100% recyclable after use.

How to prepare CT1 for use!

To prepare your CT1 for application, you need to;

  • Remove the nozzle at the top of the cartridge and cut the cap off (at the top of the threaded section) using a sharp utility knife.
  • Cut the nozzle to the correct size using a sharp utility knife. This will determine the size of your bead. Make sure to do it at a 45-degree angle.

How to apply CT1 sealant and adhesive!

With the CT1 cartridge open and the nozzle cut to suit the bead of sealant needed applying CT1 sealant and adhesive is very straightforward.

Simply;

  • Load the prepared cartridge into your caulking gun securely.
  • Squeeze down on the trigger to start applying CT1.
  • Apply CT1 sealant evenly in a straight line, using consistent pressure to the trigger as you drag the nozzle along your desired application area.

Once you’ve applied your bead of CT1 along your desired area, use C-TEC Multisolve to lightly coat the sealant and lubricate its surface to assist tooling without impacting the adhesive bond press on the materials.

How long does it take to cure?

Curing times at 23°C / RH50%.

CT1 works instantly and is fully cured in:

  • 24 hours – 3mm bead
  • 48 hours – 6mm bead
  • 72 hours – 9mm bead

Depending on how heavy the application of sealant, full curing times may be extended.

At low temperatures curing times will be extended.
